We met family on Sunday 2/9/26 at 5:45pm and Ray was our server- we had never ate here but wanted to try it especially with some of the great reviews! I should have known when we sat down and Ray asked us what we wanted to drink, we told her and also asked for an order of Calamari while we waited for our family members- the look she gave us for ordering Calamari was a nasty one. But you know everyone of us can have a moment of RBF or a rough day, so let's move forward She comes and takes our family members drink orders when they arrive a few minutes later, but she wasn't happy about it and it shows.... Then we face our orders, tell her how we wanted the bill split (one side of the table on one bill the other side on the other bill) food comes out the clam chowder tasted good but looked like cake batter, the fish dip was 95% cream cheese, the Calamari tasted good but smelled odd. The best thing on my plate that I order (the shrimp platter broiled) was the corn on the cob! We searched for Ray for refills on our drinks but she only brought the table of 6 people - 2 people got refills Then she brought us the 2 bills - wait what in the world? She explained that she had cleaning in the back - wait what? I asked so do you all offer dessert? Oh yeah, we have 2 which one do you want? Well I didn't see a menu with them so what do you all have, we ordered the keylime pie - which tasted off like a medicine after taste We asked if she could clear the dishes please so we could have exchange Christmas gifts since our family had not been able to get together for the holidays- she literally cleared the middle of the tables plates and we had to pile the rest at the ends of the table So if Ray is your server I say Good Luck Maybe the food is better but we paid $110 for 3 people and I don't feel like we had a good experience with the food or service. Here's my opinion if you're having a rough night or you don't wanna be a server then don't wait on tables but if you're gonna wait on tables and you're going to service clients that are nice that are friendly that are laughing then please for the love of everything give them something in return give them a refill. We're not asking for anything for free. We're just literally asking for you to tend to the table that is in your custody. I did leave her a tip, but I do have to say it was really bad circus and I really hope that in the future, she will get better service to other patrons of the restaurant. read more

Based on the ratings, we expected more. We enjoyed the Back in the Day feel of the restaurant. Our server was on top of things. She knew the menu and kept ur glasses full. But the food was alright. First timers and we were so hangry for lunch. Our server Brandy was amazeballs and super friendly. Thank You Brandy! Started with the coconut shrimp appetizer and wow so many shrimp on this appetizer and the dipping sauce was unique and very tasty. My wife had the deviled crab with green beans and mac n cheese. She loved it. Uncle J had the blackened shrimp with fries and coleslaw. He was very pleased with the portion size and said he will be back. We came here for an early dinner and were not disappointed. Beautiful atmosphere and decor. Seafood theme but much nicer than most places. Comfortable booth but there are tables as well. A very large dining area. We both had a senior half and half....choice of two items with two sides and two hush puppies. I had pollock and shrimp with fried okra and homemade Coleslaw. Excellent! We had an unexpected drive home from Atlanta after our flight was cancelled. During our journey home, we wanted to find a spot off the beaten path to try and this place sounded good. We arrived and were seated after a short wait. It's pretty large inside. We were brought to a booth and our friendly server came to get our orders shortly after we reviewed the menu. I chose to get blackened group with macaroni and cheese and collard greens and a cup of New England clam chowder. My bf got the gator tail and clam strip combo with cheese grits and coleslaw. Meals also come with hush puppies. My chowder was creamy and tasty. I could have used a bit more chunks of clam, but enjoyed it. I loved my grouper! The greens were good and the mac and cheese was creamy with a hint of mustard flavor I enjoy in mac and cheese. I also liked the hush puppies. My boyfriend said his grits were some of the best he's had. I tasted them and also thought they were good. The gator tail was tender and not overly battered or greasy and the batter had good seasonings. Clam strips were good, too. Prices were reasonable with large portions. I had a lunchon special with fried oysters, fish and fries along with collard greens and hush puppies along with 1/2 & 1/2 iced tea. There was plenty of food. The oysters, fish and hush puppies were simply awesome. The fries were way above average. The collard greens were pedestrian. The tea was serve in oversized glasses and actually tasted like real tea. The place was larger than expected and offered a nice ambiance. The staff was efficient and friendly. Lunch was about $20 because the oysters were a $3 upcharge. Completely screwed up. Delivered our sides 20 Mins before the main and was told it takes 20 mins to blacken grouper, maybe if it was 15" thick. It wasn't. They also told my daughter her entree didn't come with. My side was supposed to be mixed beans and rice. Had like 4 pcs of rice in the beans. We were told the manager is an asshole and that's exactly what we were told my employee and he does it by weight. The waitress then took my card and kept it for 25 mins which is sketch. I was staying nearby in White Springs and this place was recommended by my air bnb hosts. We looked them up on yelp and knew right away this was a place we had to go to! We went on a Friday night it wasn't too busy so parking and seating was a breeze. Once we sat we were greeted by our friendly waitress who brought out a seafood dip with crackers. We snacked on that as we looked the menu over & decided on what to order. We ordered fried green tomatoes and deviled crabs as our appetizer. Id been craving fried green tomatoes for a while and I was delighted when I learned the anticipation was well worth it. They were served with ranch which I don't particularly care for but the tomatoes themselves were super tasty. The deviled crabs were delicious too and came with some amazing hush puppies. For my entree, I ordered the catfish fingers which were definitely the most delicious catfish I've had in a while. My sides were mac & cheese and sweet potato mash which were both amazing as well. Now after the seafood dip and the appetizers I was way too stuffed to finish my entree so I packed it up to go. My leftovers made for the most satisfying lunch after a long day of hiking at Big Shoals. I'm so glad I found this place! So myself and my husband had the dockside double which is 19.99, we had shrimp and scallops, scallops are an upgrade so that was $3.00 extra. Had a baked potato and salad, salad is also an upgrade that is $2.99 extra. The dinner had approx. 10 shrimp(small) and 4(large) scallops. The first baked potatoes were not edible, so they brought fresh ones. Waitress was so-so, we waited a long time for her to come to the table initially and to bring our drinks. $25.98 for each meal is too expensive for the amount of food you get. Flavor of the shrimp and scallops was very good. You need to add a few more for the price. read more

This meal was pretty disappointing. While you receive a good amount of fish there is really no distinction in the taste between blackened and grilled. I ordered the grouper special....if it was grouper I'm not sure what country it came from because the fillets were so small and thin. My husband ordered flounder. The good news was it wasn't over cooked but very bland. We ordered sides of fried pickles which were the best part of the meal, collards that had a weird taste and okra and tomatoes that were funky tasting. The hush puppies were greasy. This is a consistent go-to spot for lunch dates with my grandparents when I'm passing through town, going to and fro. The service is always friendly, the seafood is always fresh, the sides are pretty good, and my Grandma approves-- which is no small feat! They've always got some sort of special running, as well as a senior citizens menu, which is great, because I always foot the bill (lol- anything for my Grand-babies).
