Closed Sundays and close at 3pm on Mondays

Excellent sweet tea. Catfish fingers and waffle fries were the standouts. Tartar and cocktail sauce were also very nice. Didn't see the Tater Tots until too late, but probably will try them next time. Closed Sundays and only open until 3pm on Mondays. Yelp didn't "know" about the 3pm Monday closing so we arrived starving about 5:30 pm after looking forward to it all day. Bummer.

I ate dinner with my family here tonight. My inlaws have eaten here many times, but it was my first time here and it did NOT disappoint. The restaurant is small with country decor, but the food and service are great. The restaurant was busy but our waitress got everyone's order correct, drinks never ran dry, and everything was out fresh and hot. They have wings, BBQ, catfish, and more. I got the chicken tender and shrimp meal with baked beans and onion rings with ranch. My fiance got the shrimp combo with bacon cheese grits and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. As a daughter of a shrimper I'm picky about my shrimp, but this place had perfectly fried fresh shrimp. The chicken tenders were crispy and juicy. The ranch tasted homemade and it was a nice consistency. The baked beans and onion rings were delicious. The side salad had cheese, tomatoes, and egg as well as homemade blue cheese dressing with big chunks of fresh cheese. I would definitely eat here again. Rating from A+++ to F I give it an A+++!

Catfish sandwich and buttered grits with cheese

After taking a trip to Publix to stock up our fridge in the cabin we are staying in, we stopped here for lunch. This is pretty much the only restaurant in the little town of White Springs. We were able to quickly seat ourselves and were greeted by our server shortly thereafter. She was attentive and friendly the entire time. I don't remember her name unfortunately. The decor is eclectic and the place has a definite local, country vibe. I decided to try the catfish sandwich with a side of buttered grits with cheese. After a short wait, the food came out nice and hot. The grits were tasty and had a generous amount of shredded cheese on the top. I enjoyed my sandwich as well. It had two large pieces of fried catfish. The batter was tasty and it wasn't overly greasy. I could only finish half because it was a big sandwich. The menu is pretty simple, but there's still a good selection so you should be able to find something to try. I'd recommend stopping in for a good meal and good hospitality if you're in the area.

    Cheeseburger to go!!

I come here every time I'm in Lake City, servers are friendly and very efficient! The food is as good a reason as any to visit White Springs. I can't pick my favorite, i haven't had anything that doesn't make my mouth water when I think about it LOL

Got the fat belly bigger with cheese. It was good but not the best burger. I'm not sure if it was just dry or not enough seasoning, so I put some bbq sauce to help with it. The waffle fries were delicious, especially with the seasoning. Cannot beat a beer for $1.89.

Let's not get reckless. Nobody is confusing this place with the Disney World of gas stations. But Busy Bee absolutely wants you to know it studied the Buc-ee's playbook in great detail and copied enough homework to pass the class. And honestly? Respect. After hours on the road, I pulled in needing gas, caffeine, food, a restroom, and probably some emotional reassurance from the highway gods. Busy Bee delivered on most of it. First off, the bathrooms were clean. Not "gas station clean." Actually clean. That alone immediately moves a roadside stop up at least one full star in America's travel grading system. Then came the snack exploration phase. They had homemade jerky, specialty snacks, random road trip impulse purchases, and enough "well I wasn't planning to buy this but here we are" items to keep me wandering around longer than intended. It's the kind of place where you walk in for a drink and somehow leave holding candied pecans, smoked sausage, and a giant bag of pork rinds you'll later regret in silence. The overall vibe was solid too. Convenient. Clean. Easy stop. Good energy from the place itself. The employees though? Let's just say the staff had the collective facial expression of people who may have originally applied at Buc-ee's and ended up here after the universe made other plans. Nobody was rude. But there was definitely an emotional support shift happening behind the counter. Still, for a highway stop, Busy Bee absolutely gets the job done. It's a good place to refuel both your gas tank and your stomach before heading back into the chaos of interstate survival. This is probably a true three-and-a-half star stop if we're getting technical about it. But Yelp refuses to acknowledge the beauty of nuance, and I'm feeling generous today. So four stars it is for the little roadside gas station that looked at Buc-ee's empire and said, we can absolutely make a run at this thing.

For openers, if you think the best barbecue is usually found in the worst part of town, in a place…read morewith bars on the windows, and just enough grease on the table to write your initials - then this isn't it. This is a barbecue joint (anyplace that serves barbecue is, by definition, a joint) just off the highway in Valdosta, Georgia... and worth all the confusion created when Waze takes you a block too far, and Yelp says they're about to close their doors for the day, which just wasn't the case. The Woodstack BBQ Tavern came into being in 2015 when three guys bought an old liquor warehouse with a monstrous photo of the Budweiser Clydesdale team pulling their famous wagon spanning the front wall. No deal if the building didn't come with the Budweiser mural. Two of thee three, Justin and Randy are running the place now and about to open another in Thomasville. For a guy who has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the perfect barbecue (read my more than 120 barbecue reviews from across the country on Yelp), this is a jewel worth all the confusion finding them and finding them open. Other reviews touch on the friendliness and they're right on... call for info (are you open, Yelp says you're about to close), to when you come thru the door, place your order and pay the tab, it/'s like your back home neighborhood diner. Lisa seems to be keeping things under control out front while folks in the kitchen keep the great 'cue coming. And at good prices. We had the three meat special (with two sides) for $28, but only after some freshly cooked, well seasoned pork rinds ($11 for a healthy serving)... Burnt ends (started by Arthur Bryant in Kansas City more than 50 years ago) were tender, flush with flavor and a great choice. The ribs were good complete with a validating smoke ring, but the best of the threesome we gorged on was the pulled pork. Some of the best the Brown Shoe Gourmet has enjoyed in some time. We skipped their fries (frozen with seasoning) and had their homemade chips (excellent), slaw (slaw that was just that) and fried Brussel sprouts for the one amongst us who doesn't understand that's not a legitimate barbecue joint side dish. She raved about them and made sure there was some left to take home. Go figure. Turns out we missed out on one of Woodstack's best known sides: homemade onion rings. Who knew? Sauces? Yes, three of them: a thin pepper and vinegar, a mustard based sauce and the traditional very slightly spiced tomato sauce - by far the best and worth buying. And while a lot joints now give you half ounce cups of sauce (or make yu stand in line to choose from too many (City Cue are you listening?) Woodstack puts freshly filled bottles on the table. What a novel idea - sample without holding uo a line- letting the customer decide which sauce and how much? A negative? There was one. No colorful tee shirt to add to the collection of more than 200. The dining area is spotlessly clean as are the rest room; the foods is really good and almost all homemade (they use post oak as is the wood of choice throughout Texas) and the hospitality, led by the smiling ball of energy that is Lisa, is outstanding. Five stars to Valdosta's Woodstack. We'll be back next trip south.

The correct address from Google Maps is the same street number, 15070 US-301, but in Starke, which is 11 miles north of the Waldo address. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday, aware that their listed closing time is 5:30, but willing to give it a try. There were quite a few meats and sides scratched off the board - it's necessary to plan a day's cook conservatively so there is less waste at the end of each day. It can't be easy to put so many choices on the board with the tight margins restaurants work with. But there were still several things I wanted to try. I got a 2 meat platter with lamb chops and sliced pork with green beans and brussel sprouts for sides. The wife got a pulled pork sandwich and waffle fries. The soda machines were all out, but the teas and lemonades were just fine for us. The portions were really generous. And the meats were all really good. Lamb chops (3) were fork tender. Pork slices (4) needed a knife, but I was expecting that. Her sandwich was easily 1/3 to 1/2 lb of meat. Really tasty. And the sides - green beans were well done and flavorful - southern style obviously. The brussel sprouts were very nicely crisped with a sweet dressing on them. Really good. And the fries were properly GBD. Two sauces - a pretty sweet mustard sauce and a tangy red - maybe half way between Kansas sweet and Carolina vinegar. Both really good, but none of the meats really required sauce. Looking at other reviews it seems they change up the menu pretty often. But I'd definitely stop back in, maybe earlier in the day, to see how the brisket tastes. Or just to see what the choices are for that day. Everything we tried was great, so I'd be willing to try whatever else they offer.

The staff behind the counter kept things moving and still took time to answer questions about the different meats. The brisket was tender with a good smoky flavor that didn't need much sauce. Food came out faster than expected considering how many people were there around lunch. The whole place had a laid back small town feel where everyone seemed comfortable hanging around for a while after eating.
