For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

On our previous visit, my dining companion ordered The Fletch, which is NOT on the menu. A previous Yelper had reviewed the restaurant and mentioned it. My dining companion was intrigued and had to try it. You have to ask for it. It's a mac and cheese waffle, topped with a fried chicken breast, topped with flash-fried spinach and served with brown butter strawberry buffalo sauce. It was interesting, tasty and filling, but when a server passed by with a plate of fried chicken destined for another table, he looked longingly as that plate passed his gaze. The green beans were steamed and served with pieces of diced bacon. Again, wonderful. My companion ordered a roll, which was soft and served with butter on the side. I ordered the hush puppies, served as a duo and fried, but still soft on the inside. If you haven't overeaten, I recommend you save room for dessert. The coconut cream pie is delightful and ample enough for two to share. The menu options are decidedly southern and a hearty meal for anyone with an appetite.
