Tucked away behind a gas station near some hotels. Good place to grab a quick bite. Nobody was there at the time of our visit. One cook, one counter person (who cut their smoke break short for us), and one guy wrapped in a blanket sitting at the counter. Food was easily ordered and prepared quickly. Everyone knows Waffle House is Waffle House. This particular Waffle House gets 5 stars due to the staff being like family when we walked in with our party of eleven before a flight out of JAX. Our server, Cat, made everyone feel comfortable as we settled into 3 booths. She took our orders quickly and we engaged in fun conversations as she guessed the ages of our 6 young adult kids. We ordered waffles, which were tasty but a bit too soft for our liking--we prefer a crispier texture and weren't sure if we could request them to be cooked longer or more toasted. Hubby and I were in the mood for a little brunch over the weekend so we headed over to our local Waffle House. We took a couple seats at the counter and received excellent service! I ordered the Texas bacon, egg & cheese melt with hashbrowns. Hubby ordered the Texas bacon cheesesteak melt with hashbrowns. We added on a chocolate chip waffle because they don't call it Waffle House for nothing! The food came out fast and everything was great. The bacon was cooked perfectly. Thick Texas toast was toasted well and buttery. The chocolate chip waffle was super yummy! Fluffy inside and crisp on the edges, covered with melty chocolate chips. Hubby really enjoyed his bacon cheesesteak melt. It had a good amount of meat on it. My only complaint would be the hashbrowns not being crispy enough. disturbing experience at this Waffle House. While I was checking out, an Asian woman entered the restaurant with a suitcase, likely after a flight, to order food. To my shock, the only server and cook present were visibly annoyed by her presence, rolling their eyes, and mocking her with an offensive "Asian" accent. They made derogatory remarks, including a mockery of the N-word, and repeatedly asked condescending questions like, "Do you want to eat?" which was both unnecessary and deeply disrespectful, as it was clear why she was there. The woman eventually walked out because of the way she was treated. This behavior was not only unprofessional but outright discriminatory. I am appalled by what I witnessed, and I sincerely hope management takes swift action to address this unacceptable conduct. The overall service was equally appalling. Our entire order was incorrect, the food was somehow both burnt and cold, and it took 20 minutes just to receive waters. We didn't receive a single refill on our drinks, and the server was openly cursing throughout our time there. While the server gave me an extra waffle because she got the order wrong, it was clear the only reason she did so was that the first waffle was burnt and she still served it to me. This behavior is completely unacceptable. I strongly urge management to addiress the conduct of the staff to ensure no other customer has to endure such an experience. read more

This is exactly how Waffle House should be run! The place was packed. Customers were coming in and out just as fast as the cook and waitress can serve it. The food was amazing and hit the spot right before our morning flights back to Austin, TX. Kat, even though wasn't our waitress, was the star of the diner! It's like she read my mind, as soon as we sat down, she put on Al Green "Love and Happiness ". That's when you know it's WH! She filled our coffee cups up and made occasional conversation with us. The food was what I always expect from any Waffle House: fresh, fast, fantastic value and filling. My pecan waffle was delicious and really hit the spot. Overall, this seems like a great location. I've been out of town and it was an area where Verizon service is poor so I have not been able to review anything BUT there really wasn't much to review. BUT back to Jax and wanting some coffee and Waffle House was open. They had spaced seating, wiped everything down and had mobile viewing menus. My husband and I always enjoy going to Waffle House, so we've been to plenty. I've always had good experiences but THIS one is THE BEST! All the customers were greeted, we were acknowledge and sat by a sweet gentleman. He smiled and welcomed us. Our waitress was so kind and funny. Most times I go the experience is satisfactory, but this time I walked in and they had a new guy, must have forgot his belt cause his pants where below his butt. Gritts where cold, and sausage Gravy was cold. when I told them it was not hot this same guy stuck his gloved finger in the bowl of gravy that they just served me to check the temperature, and said I'll heat it up. He then took the bowl and emptied the contents in a skillet on the grill to start heating it up. I was disgusted, paid my bill and left without eating any food.
