First time here and was highly impressed with the service and quality of food. Decided to eat on the patio since the sun was out. Very spacious place for a plaza. Ordered a Turkey avocado sandwich added onions. Not usually a sandwich person but this one was delicious bread was toasted to perfection ingredients were fresh and crisp. No complaints about my food.. Green goddess salad was also quite tasty, a little too much dressing but still delicious. This was my wife and I first time eating at Newk's Eatery. We stopped in for lunch and we shared a French Dip sandwich and a bowl of Lobster and Crab Soup. The sandwich was delicious and we both loved it! I would pass on getting the Lobster and Crab Soup!!!! It really didn't have much meat in it. Just sort of bland tasting. Everyone there was super nice and friendly! Everything was very clean! We loved how they have outdoor seating so we ate outside because it was a little cold inside (for us). Had higher hopes for this place as my first time was pretty good. Tried the green goddess salad, cheesesteak, and chicken salad sandwich. The dressing was pretty bland, as was the cheesesteak, so that kinda disappointing. Potato salad and the chicken salad was pretty good, more flavorful than I was expecting. Quick dinner while shopping in the area. They had someone training on the register and both the trainee and trainer did a great job. Ordered my meal and found a table after filling my large cup. Love all the refillable drink options. The portabella vegetable sandwich was tasty, with well seasoned veggies, pesto sauce and toasty bread. I ordered the pasta salad as my side. My coworker recommended this spot and we decided to go one day. The place was clean and casual with alot of seating. Order off kiosk or with the cashier. I order the Newks Q sandwhich and a lobster bisque. The chicken was a little dry but it was good. The soup hit the spot and tasted like they put some love in the soup. Also liked the sides like roasted garlic and pickled items, and also little breads you can get.the deserts looked tempting but will try next time. read more

I made an online order at this location to give it a try. There's parking available and it was not crowded. The host assisted me with my online order as it was ready and everything was timely. Now when I took a bite of that steak Q sandwich...hmmm it was delicious and the caramelized onions give it a sweet kick to it and I had chips on the side because why not... I was at an appointment and asked where they recommended for lunch and she said Newk's without hesitation. She said it has light food with great salads and that's what I was looking for. I walked through the pickup side without realizing. I was greeted, waited a second then said for one. The young lady then replied, have you been to Newk's before, I said not that I remember. She then explained the menu was on the wall and pointed me in the right direction to order in a very polite and friendly way. I read the menu and couldn't make up my mind, there wasn't a line but the young man at the counter seemed to want me to hurry up, I think he had a rough night because I arrived about 30 minutes after opening. His customer service skills were lacking. He placed my order and gave me a card, didn't explain anything so I asked what's next. He then told me to place the card in the stands on the table that hold the rewards information, he didn't say all that but that's what I had to do. Honestly I didn't bother asking for his recommendation, I normally do at new places to me but I felt he'd hum and haw and feel put out. Again, just my subjective opinion. I did ask if there were a military discount and he said, it comes with a free drink. I ordered the half soup and salad. The lobster bisque was ok, warm not hot, but the salad was really good. Great location, ample parking, ample seating inside! Went in and asked my usual 10,042 questions regarding gluten-free - the young man at the counter was not sure so he went and asked the manager! I absolutely absolutely love that, if you are unsure, please, please always ask :-) he returned just a few moments later to tell me if they could modify many things, and then mentioned to items there were naturally gluten-free The black and blue salad was generously sized and tasty! Next time I will be sure to ask for dressing on the side, as it had way too much dressing. The inside dining is quiet enough where you can hold a full-blown conversation! read more

Not new to News but new to eating at this location. It was easy to park with plenty of space. Quick to take our order and about 10 minutes later we were served our food. Establishment was clean and has a good vibe. I ordered the pick two and got the Italian sandwich and Cesar salad. They were both good, but nothing special. My husband ordered French dip and chili and wasn't impressed with either one. Was a good quick place to eat and not heavy in food. Also, bathrooms were semi clean. Newk's is a great spot for lunch. Hubby and I have been to this location a couple times. It's always consistent and delicious. We usually both get the Italian sandwich. I love their hot cherry pepper relish! They do a great job of toasting up the bread very well every time. There's no shortage of meat either, nothing beats hot Italian meats and melty cheese. Newk's does this very well. They are definitely one of the better options in/near Rivercity. read more

They have a "3 pizza meal deal," which includes 3 personal pan style pizzas for $24; choices include BBQ chicken pizza, Margherita (pictured below), Newk's Q pizza (Chicken, bacon, mozzarella, signature white BBQ sauce and chili oil, topped with jalapeños), Pepperoni, and Sausage & pepperoni. Pizza sizes within the deal are small, but can satisfy an appetite in a pinch! They also have things like soup and sandwiches. You place your order up front and they deliver to your table when the food is ready. I am starting this review by saying I have never ever left a review on a restaurant before... let alone one this negative... but if I could rate this a zero star I would. I ordered a chicken caesar wrap, and it came so soggy that paper it was wrapped in was damp. then I take a bite and IT WAS RANCH not Caesar. I was so upset. it would have been inedible regardless of the dressing they used, because they DRENCHED it in so much.... the tortilla was falling apart and WET. I also ordered a chocolate caramel cake that was TERRIBLE!!! It tasted BITTER!! I will be telling everyone not to eat here. Very disappointed. I spent $35 on DoorDash and only received a $9 credit as a refund. I hope this restaurant either gets it together or CLOSES DOWN! read more

(From November 2021) My first experience ever at a Newk's Eatery. My pops and I were impressed with their food and freshness. The chipotle caesar shrimp salad I ordered was delicious with the avocado and tomato added for extra texture. And the dressing had that spicy creamy consistency that salad dressings strive to have. My dad ordered the roast beef sandwich which he enjoyed as the bread held up the sandwich well. As part of the fast high-end casual dinings, it reminds me of Panera with a red/black color scheme and a more vivacious menu focused on modern lunch eats with soups/sandwiches/pizza as the focus. It's a lot more pricier than Panera so don't get the wrong idea in terms of cost. Should there be any of these spots near my residence, I'm willing to check them out again. read more
