I am giving three stars because I really feel like this store is always super slow. I'm not sure if it's understaffed or if it's just slowness from the workers but it's been each time I come. When you walk inside, there's boxes all in the entrance. Then you see every table but maybe 3 filled of upset people waiting for their food. After we ordered they said, "all in line, know it will be a 20 mins wait." A lot left after that. The sweet girl at the register was kind and our food was yummy but the slowness is frustrating. read more

I would give no stars if possible. Ordered a large turkey breast sub with only cheese these people sent a sub with bread and cheese. Then when I called the lady that answered the phone said she could assure me it had turkey on it. Told her I can assure her I'm looking at bread and burnt cheese. While the restaurant is clean and the employees are fast and friendly, they have managed to mess up my sandwich on several occasions. My bread has been burned. My bread has been supposedly toasted, but yet it's not toasted. Twice they've not evenly spread the meat and cheese, so it's been all clumped up in the middle with nothing on the ends. It's been nearly impossible to spread it out myself because of the melted cheese. I cannot count how many times my sandwich has been cold when this is a hot sandwich. The most incompetent staff in existence! How do you mess up a sub from an online order? The order is literally spelled out for you. Cold sub means not hot, ie: not toasted. When they remade the sub, they screwed it up AGAIN - they left EVERYTHING off the sub. Idiots. What should have been a 5 minute in-&-out experience took a half hour! I just placed a large order and was amazed by the attention to detail, patience, communication, and great attitudes the staff possessed. Princella took my order and gave me so much information on my choices and was incredibly patient with my confusion (the people I was ordering for were not very clear). When we arrived 10 minutes after ordering to pick it up, she had all staff members communicating about their status on each order while still ensuring every customer was greeted upon arrival. All staff were working diligently and committed to customer happiness. It is uncommon to see such dedication in fast food and I was thoroughly impressed. So this breaks my heart, I am all about Firehouse subs normally, however, my last visit to the location at Rivercity Marketplace was very much below there usually excellant standard. For two subs and a tiny bag of chips we paid $31.00, really for fast food? There online price is $8. something, which is well worth the price, but $13. and some change each, is just obscene , upon contacting their main office and complaining we were told they would research it and get back to us, but that never happened. This location can get pretty packed when Josh Scobee gets free subs for Jags fans, however, you don't wait long for your food as it comes out relatively quick. I dont know if all Firehouse locations have stopped doing so but you will not be greeted with a "Welcome to Firehouse!" chant here. This time I ordered the Engineer sub, a sub that I haven't had in well over 10 years. It was just as delicious as I remember. Lime-ade is the way to go for your drink but they have the big Coke machine that offers way more choices than you really need. My wife had the Italian Meatball and wasn't able to finish it so she gave the rest to me. The meatballs and sauce were really good and seemed big enough that it could be difficult to finish a Large sub. On this visit I noticed that the dining area had a weird, not so pleasant smell. My favorite part was seeing an old friend, Max Leggett, represented in the large mural and in a framed photograph. I am sure he is smiling down loving the respect. Now, the food. Being sick the other day I didn't feel like doing much. I wanted something to eat but not the other sandwich shop around the corner. This location is exactly like all of the pother firehouse's around town. The same menu and the same fixtures but then that's what you want when you walk into a huge chain restaurant. I do remember them on San Jose in their first store. The brothers did it right back then. The sandwiches were better I thought. I went with my normal sandwich of the New Yorker steamer. It is a pastrami n corned beef with mayo and swiss cheese. That's about it. The meat i feel used to be a better quality and more pf it on their sandwiches. I normally stop at another location near my house on the other side of town, but, I was really hungry the other night and stopped here..and I'm so glad I did!! Ya'll were really busy, and that parking lot is something else..but I was greeted quickly and kindly by the staff and my order was taken quickly by the young lady at the register. The line was super friendly and they worked seamlessly together. You could tell they were trying to get everyone's sandwiches made correctly, and they were communicating very well together to make sure they didn't make any mistakes. What a Great team!! I think the young man that ended up handing me my sandwich said his name was Chase ? He was very friendly, had a big smile and told me to have a great night! I have to tell you that lately, customer service skills has really gone downhill in the world, but the staff at this location has me thinking I may travel all the way out this way for my sandwiches from now on. Slowest damn firehouse around! Everytime I come in its forever to get my food even if it's just 3 people in house! Workers don't seem to know what they are doing at all! Really need some management help here! Not only do the workers not seem to wanna work or seem to be properly trained but they are unorganized and lost for the most part! I love Firehouse but this location has horrible customer service. I always try to order my food ahead since they tend to take awhile and today I did for absolutely no reason. I called my food in at 11:20am and was told it would be 15 mins. When I got there, there was a sign on the door that said they would open at noon. Clearly they did the same thing to about 25 other people that were also waiting outside. So at noon when they finally opened the door, everyone piled in at the same time for me to wait and find out they didn't even put my order in! I could have understood this possibly if it happened yesterday after the storm but today shouldn't have happened. Jessica was the one who "helped" me when I got there. If that's what u could call it.
