I'm coming in for my first impression and I'm overwhelmed. First parking can be complicated if you get in a peak lunch time. I was lucky and was able to park out front while others were parking across the street. The menu is displayed in front of you on a lighted screen. Chose the half sandwich meal with chips and a side of soup. Side salad was an up charge for a one visit stop at the salad bar. I think it was like $4 or $5 more for the salad. I didn't want a $20 lunch visit. Drink was extra also. Got the New York Yankee, Basically a Rueben sandwich. Really think with meat, plenty of chips and the soup was hot and fresh with a sugar cane sweet tea. Overall my visit was okay. I enjoy the Larry's sub much better. But will definitely try something else. The salad bar looked good. And they have complimentary soft serve ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate or swirl are your options. read more

Jasons has done it again! I had a DoorDash coupon code, placed my order, and then called to double-check everything would be gluten-free. The manager answered right away, reassured me, and made sure I'd be taken care of. When I got there, my food was ready to go -- a sandwich (all gluten-free) and a salad bar to-go. What I didn't realize was that "salad bar to-go" meant... the entire salad bar. This picture -- please don't roast me for using a giant paper plate -- is maybe one-third of the salad! dinner tonight, dinner tomorrow all under $20 including tip! Their salad bar is full of great options including all the regular staples of a salad bar, plus little cornbread, a toppings section and a large variety of dressings. We got the Managers special with a half of sandwich (we got a panini-turkey, mozzarella, pesto, tomato), chips and a good size bowl to make our own salad all for about $14?!? Man o man, people having been telling me about this place and I finally caved in. I must say I'm so glad I did because Jason's Deli was Amazing! I can't even remember what I had but I have pictures. The Panini was Outstanding, packed with flavor punching you with every bite. Hands down that was the best Panini I've ever had and if you follow me or ever read any of my reviews then you know I don't say those things lightly. But I stand on my decision. My GF, had the other sandwich and she said it was delicious. The ambiance of the place was nice and relaxing and the lady who took our order was very helpful! Stopped in for lunch and got the manager special (half sandwich and cup of soup). After some thought, I went with the Beefeater sandwich and chicken pot pie soup. For a half portion, the sandwich was large and had a great portion of meat. The soup was so hot it had to wait until I was done with the sandwich before I could eat it. My friend and I decided to lunch at a different restaurant and decided to hit up Jason's on the Southside because I really wanted a salad. She told me how good their salad bar is and she was right. The salad bar had 3 types of greens to choose from, freshly cut standard salad veggies, whole hard boiled eggs, fruits and a whole lot more to include mini muffins, nuts, and several selections of vinaigrette dressings. When you first walk in you place your order and are given a tray with any food items they can quickly provide plus cutlery and cups. If you order the salad bar you receive a huge salad plate. If you think the salad bar is too much food you can opt for freshly made single salads that will be provided once you complete your order. I ordered a cup of chicken chili and received it right away, it was delicious! The restaurant eating area is huge, you can choose to eat inside or outside and the tables are spaced perfectly, no crowding. Parking during lunch time may mean walking a short distance but there's plenty of parking, it just may not be in front of the Deli. I had an appointment in Jax and rather than try a new place, my mom and I decided to go to one of our favorite brunch places for dinner. Jason's deli holds a special place in my heart. Sadly the Jason's Deli in my hometown has been closed for some time, after COVID it wasn't doing too well and they permanently closed down. Ever since then I've been craving them and since I so happened to be in Jacksonville I searched to see if they had one and was so happy I was so close to it. My go to was the club royale and California club. I absolutely was faithful to it as my #1 menu item and would switch between both. But this time I decided to try a seasonal sandwich panini. Going in to this Jason's Deli is so reminiscent of the one I frequented. Everything was clean and the staff were so friendly and patient as my mom and I decided what to get since it's been almost 6 years since we last went to one. My mom got her salad bar as per usual and she loved it. I saw her get up at least 4 times so it's safe to say it was just as good as she remembered. I ordered the chipotle chicken avocado panini which is similar to the chipotle chicken avocado melt from Panera Bread. Now I don't know about you but I'm picky with shredded chicken in sandwiches. I have had experiences where the chicken has a gamey taste and chewy texture. But when I bit into it I was blessed because it tasted like chicken and was so tender. No weird after taste and the bread was unlike any bread I've had. I thought it would be just a silly white bread but the outside of the panini bread seemed to be buttered then pressed or grilled in a panini press, making that warm, crunchy texture and those signature grill marks. It was just delicious. I ordered the chili which it was exactly like I remembered. It was hearty and balanced with the beans and meat. The recipe did not change one bit which I commend them for. Needless to say, the food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it! I am so thankful for the workers because I had to get up a couple times to get sour cream, utensils , extra plate for my mom to be able to get her salad and through it all they were so helpful and not upset or showed no amount of being inconvenienced. Felt like going back in time and enjoying some of the classics we loved and like nothing had truly changed. I'm glad this Jason's deli still stands and if we are ever back in town I'll be sure to stop by. I absolutely to this day prefer this to a Mcalister's and Panera. This location is located at Southside, they do have plenty of parking space but I can see that it can get crowded especially during lunch hour. This Jason's deli offers a salad bar, as far as I know the salad bar, you can go for 2 servings (meaning you can go back to the buffet bar 2x). I wanted to try the salad bar but I opted for the managers special which is half sandwich, a side and chips, my husband got their bowl and we both have the broccoli cheddar soup. Everything was great! i ordered Tuna sandwich and I devoured that like there is no tomorrow. The staff there was very friendly! they cashier was very patient with us as we do not know how it works especially it was our first time there. the best part here is they have free ice cream! its just the normal soft served ice cream but for me it was good! read more

My church uses Jason's Deli catering for training and special events. Their food is always fresh and delicious! My favorite is the chef salad. There is more meat than I've ever seen on a salad. And I appreciate and love the chocolate chip cookie with every box meal! The most recent church event I tried the turkey sandwich. The sandwich was tasty and the bread fresh. Today Jason's disappointed to the point we are done with them. Though they took back my bowl of gristle, grease, floating fat globs and a few miserable brown carrot slivers and gave us a complete refund for both meals, this was truly nauseating. My husband's food was fine. I thought I had given their Beef Stew a hearty review the first time I ordered it, (because it was so much more than I was expecting, at that time, which wasn't too long ago). Maybe I jinxed it for myself. They did offer a replacement, but I couldn't take a chance on their food again. My husband got the gluten version of the panini and really enjoyed his as well. My son got the kids pizza and he said it was yummy but he only ate one piece. I typically love their salad bar but last night unfortunately I am questioning the cleanliness of Jason's deli. We ate about 545p. The ordering process was a little tedious for just 2 salad bars and a sandwich. There was too much talking going on for the girl taking our order to focus on the order. The ice machine was broken so they had a container of water(melted ice) with two scoopers in it. When I mentioned the ice was melted the young lady who came over looked as disgusted as I did about the situation. I thought she would get clean scoopers and a clean bin but she just dumped the clean Ice in the dirty bin after she dumped the water out and placed the dirty scoopers back in the container they had for them. Totally disgusting I didn't get ice needless to say. Salad bar looked like it needed to be replaced and cleaned up. The staff working definitely were not focused on food quality or cleanlines. Advice.... I would probably have an employee fill the cup with Ice with gloves on when ordering instead of leaving scoopers and a bucket of ice for the public to use read more
