We came to Waffle house and the line was long. If you ever been to the house, they get you in and out. My wife was at the front of the long line. I came in after finding parking it. Jeanette was the wnadering waitress. We sat down and waited about a couple of minutes. Then we waited about 2 minutes to take our order. We both de ided to get the patty melt. Wifey got the grits. I had the burnt has browns with cheese and onions. I ordered them crispy. I had uncooked has browns. After my last perfect bite of the melt, I had my 3rd cup of coffee to go. Waffle house is know for its fast and greasy food. There were gloves on all the hands, the waiters called out their orders in sequence. It is nice to get hot breakfast food at a reasonable cost. I thought this place had only been here for a couple of years but they said 5! It looks like every other Waffle House but upon entering it is cleaner, well staffed and somehow...nicer. They have a very condensed menu for breakfast and lunch which is a good idea. I had wanted one pancake but they only have waffles...what a hardship. I did order a waffle and two eggs with coffee. The coffee was tasty with the thick cups (which I like), the waffle tasted so good. New batter recipe or I just haven't had one forever?!? I like the bacon and eggs here, so I stop in frequently. My wife and daughter, however, turn their nose up at it. No matter to me, I like the quick service, the reliable way food is cooked. No frills or fancy decorations, but I still stop at a Waffle House whenever I feel like a good, quick meal. read more

Place was super busy when I came in. But I was served right away. The first cup of decaf coffee I had was burnt so I had to wait for a fresh cup. But other than that it was great. I was surprised by how fast I was served having a full house. And my server was really nice as well. I got my usual All Star Special. The grits came in a bowl instead of on the plate. Had to wait a moment for my bacon since I prefer it well done so I don't have extra grease on it. Everything tasted great. Definitely recommend this place highly. read more

Came for a late breakfast with my son on a Tuesday and every available table was occupied, all but the lower bar seating. I decided to go ahead and sit since it was only us two; the service was great and the food came quick. ****** I started writing this review about a year ago, and I just visited for the second time. Although it was busy this morning, the whole experience at this location was consistently as great as the first. This Waffle House always seems to be pretty busy, but they know how to keep everything flowing. Even with all the waiting seats taken and people standing outside, we only waited 15 minutes on a very busy Sunday morning. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is always what we have come to expect from Waffle House. We typically enjoy breakfast at this location at least one every two weeks or so. I am obsessed with their hashbrowns and waffles. After a few minutes the cooks asked me if we were there to dine in. While I have not personally stepped foot inside this location- my hubby grabs me take out every month when I am across the street for 2nd Saturday Market! My go to- scattered, smothered, covered, chunked & capped! This hot little meal can keep me going until after market closes at 2pm- and a hot meal on a chilly morning after setting up a tent and tons of merchandise goes a long way! Worst Wafflehouse I've ever been to and its fairly new to the area. We were a bit worried when we pulled in as it was peak lunch hours and only other person in there besides the 2 workers and manager. We figured out why once we got our food. My "Bert's Chili" was cold (slightly warmed up on flat top in a skillet), bacon barely cooked at all and only a small fatty piece on my "bacon grilled cheese", I asked for crackers and the server said "they're probably stale"...she was right!!!....Just bad all around. The manager was running the grill so it explains why...If he don't care, why would anyone else working there care....The franchise owner should drop in and see how bad it is during the day. $42 for 3 of us and it was not worth eating..... Excellent service on a Saturday morning! The employees at this locations were phenomenal. We ordered two waffles for the kids, as well as the cheesesteak eggs bowl, along with a pattie melt. There was a long line waiting to be seated but the staff did a great job of serving food quickly and turning the tables. They had around 10 people working today, and they were all working as a team. Our kids enjoyed the interaction with the staff, and enjoyed the hats they were given. The food was fresh and cooked to order. I highly recommend the steak bowl and add eggs. Tip - They have another menu that has omelets, steaks, dinner options such pork chops, and other variety of sandwiches. Please ask the server. Excellent food and service! read more

We had fast, friendly service. The cook asked us exactly how we wanted our waffles (extra crispy), and our server, Justin, was friendly and took our order fast. We didn't need to ask for a refill for our coffee. We got it right away. Next time we want a late breakfast, this is the place for us. It was fast, affordable and great staff. read more

Well we had a thing or two to do early today before the heat hit. As it was when we finally got every thing done the thermometer in the truck said 91 degrees. Plenty hot. We went and dropped laundry off at a new and different laundry which was my stuff. But Maddy had some cleaning to drop of also. The we started on the way home but we were really hungry. We stopped off at the first place we came to. Waffel House. Will I never learn ? Very very noisy. Loud juke box country western naturally. The tossing of dishes and pots and pans part of the Waffel House dining in. Last stop for us. Problem is the food was really good, the service could have been better if the waitress did not forget a few things like the water, coffee, and extra napkins. So all and all the food experience was good the rest of it not so good. Any way a picture or two makes life interesting. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Even the coffee was good. Place was clean and waitress was super friendly. Only negative was that the blueberries in my waffles were imitation and not real blueberries. So if you go and want the blueberry waffles just know they are fake blueberries. This was the only thing I didn't like about my breakfast. The waffle itself was very tasty but I did not like the imitation blueberries and picked them out. Extremely poor take out service. I was in the lobby waiting on my food for over an hour and a half. I watched people that come in 10 minutes after me eat and leave. I went to the Brand New Mandarin location for the first time this morning and the place was a complete disaster. No clean tables to sit at. The employees were too busy laughing and talking and didn't even recognize that I walked in at sat down at the only half way clean station. No greeting at all. I grabbed a menu and waited 15 minutes before deciding to leave. I over heard one of the workers say that they are not servers. They must have had some callouts. I rushed over to the Baymeadows location which is where I normally go and received the kind of service I should experienced at the first location. I live in Mandarin and so I expected great service from a brand new and fresh location. I may try it again before I totally write it off. I wish we had decent early morning breakfast choices in this town. I'm giving one star only because I can't post with no stars. read more

When we arrived a female employee was sitting out front smoking a cigarette, there were no customers inside. She got up and went inside to take our order. In the past, I had great service from the wait staff and food is pretty good. Today, I was extremely disappointed to be treated so rudely by, Stefan at the San Jose Blvd location in Jacksonville, who was seating those who came in the door. When I asked how long, since it was very busy, he said 10-15 minutes. He asked how many. I said 2. That's it. He didn't write it down and didn't ask for my name. Other people came in after me, he grabbed a clipboard and wrote stuff down for them, which he didn't for me. So naturally I thought he needed my name. I tried to ask him if he needed my name. In a very rude and unfriendly tone, he said "ma'am, I have you down". When I tried to explain that I wasn't sure if he needed my name or not because I couldn't figure out why he was so rude to me. He then said " I already acknowledged you from over there". This is very poor customer service. I'll never go back to Waffle House if they have to be so rude to customers and can't even answer a simple question. Our 1st time to this "new" location and the last time! The place was crowded; the greeter took my name. A young lady came up and asked if we wanted to sit at the high top table and I replied 'no' that I can't sit on the high stool (hip & Knee replacement). She offered us seats at the end of the 'bar' on low stools to which we said okay. As we walked towards them, this nasty man (who was cleaning the table) growled at me and said "You need to sign in....there are other people ahead of you!" I responded that I did sign in and that the young lady directed us to that table. He barked again for me to go stand at the door that other people were in there before me. My friend and I are in our 70s.....this cleaning man has no business dealing with the public, let alone senior citizens! For all I know, he may have been the owner but in any event I will NEVER visit this or any other Waffle House again....there are way too many other places where I can be treated with respect! read more
