The bar is always busy and the bartenders are working double duty making drinks for the restaurant and walk up bar customers while providing full service to those of us seated at the bar. So, we understand when the service can be a little on the slow side. We aren't in a rush and enjoy the atmosphere. Shout out to Kenyon! When he is behind the bar the service is top notch. His head is on a swivel as he checks on everyone seated at the bar to make sure we are being taken care of.

I had the Bolognese and my wife had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. First off the Bolognese was one of the best I've ever had and I grew up with old Italians who prided themselves in their sauce. Reminded me of home. My wife's sandwich was so big she had to cut it in half. She said it was really good and that they could just serve it without the bun and it would be a hit. Ended up taking half of it home which I finished later in the evening and I have to agree. It was a really good chicken sandwich. And I can't forget the fries. They were great too. Congrats to the chefs on a job well done.

Overall: Great local-owned spot that has a lot of character…read more Staff: From the moment I walked in James, who was at the counter, was engaging, funny and kind. He waited patiently as we looked over the menu, had to take an unexpected call which delayed our order, and then meticulously took our order. I'm happy to say they fixed it exactly as we ordered it. Service: Food was made in 10 minutes - maybe less. They have a sign that asks for patience because things are made to order. Food: GREAT! Let me tell you if you've been missing the steak finger basket at that mass fast-food chain, this is the place to go! They had a generous portion of steak fingers and fries with country gravy. It was enough for two meals. The steak fingers were large and they tasted great. I appreciated there wasn't too much seasoning on the food which was helpful for my sodium restrictions. My companion had a chicken fried steak sandwich that was perfectly portioned and fresher than what you can get at chains. There is a LOT on the menu for you to choose from - including milkshakes. I didn't get one on today's order but I've had one from here in the past and it was good. My Dr Pepper from the fountain was great. Ambience: The restaurant has a retro diner decor with records, red seats and booths and turquoise accents. And pleasant music. Lots of seating - there were several diners there when we visited - although we took our food to go. I like this place and will return when I'm in the neighborhood and try something new! They serve breakfast and are open late so it feels like it is hard to miss them for a meal.

I visited this burger spot after seeing them open a Humble location. I remember visiting the old…read moreConroe location many years ago. From the parking lot, I could smell the grease from them cooking the burgers which was a very good sign. I looked over the menu and was overwhelmed by the wide variety of sides which you can choose when ordering the combo. I just stuck to the French fries since most everything would have been an upcharge and others are also fried and are probably previously frozen anyway. I chose the philly with the shaved ribeye. When it comes out 5 mins later, the presentation is very good. The breaded, seasoned fries are served hot, very hot. The Philly is a small submarine roll that is light and packed with meat which also happened to be very hot. The menu says the cheese is Swiss, but it is obviously not 100% natural Swiss and there are no holes. It also leaves a stickiness in your mouth like other American cheeses. It's likely a Swiss- American blend. Service is excellent here and the cashier is a true character and reminded me a little of Damon Wayans. Considering the cheese they use, I personally prefer the philly over at Lenny's on the west side of Humble. If they had provolone as an option then I would certainly bump it up because their bread here is pretty good and light. On future visits, I will definitely have to try their burgers, especially the 1lb burger and the Texas Monthly burger, as well as the steak fingers and chicken fried steak.

We try to support local Kingwood are restaurants and hadn't been to Union Kitchen in quite a while. We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

We saw it online and loved the vast menu selection so we thought we'd give it a try. From the exterior, it doesn't look like much almost looks like you could be walking into a craft store or a boot barn cause it's just in a shopping mall strip center. But once you enter inside, the dark wood, the wine bottles, the lighting all creates a very nice ambience of an upscale restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We were just grabbing a bite to eat before a movie and this place turned out to be much nicer than me. I previously anticipated. We decided to order off of the Happy Hour menu so that we could try several things. We got the queso dip of course...because, when in Texas...We also got the crabcakes and a cheeseburger with truffle fries. They had some great drink specials, but we got ice tea instead. That was plenty of food for two of us to share. Out of the three items that we ordered off the Happy Hour menu, I would say the cheesburger was the best! The bun was small enough to not be overwhelming and the meat had a very nice barbecue taste. The crabcakes were OK as was the queso. Our waiter gave excellent service! Can't remember his name, but he was tall and I believe had dirty blonde hair. The entire meal was super yummy with excellent service and convenient. Couldn't ask for more. We definitely recommend this place. We wanted to get beignets for dessert, but we were too full to order anything else. Oh and if you go at Happy Hour, even if you're not drinking, everything on the Happy Hour menu is 50% off. Check it out!
