I decided to go to this spot as I had past by and was curious on the crowd. This place is located at the corner of 1960 and West Lake Houston. Let me start by saying there is PLENTY of parking as it in a shopping plaza at the end. So when I arrived I came a sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender. There was a waitress and she stated I should order a Frozen Pineapple Margarita. It was sweet so probably wouldn't order it again. What I thought was good was there was a lot of wait staff around and the menu was HUGE. It appears what every day they have a food special around $11-12. There was a good amount of people in the spot as the ambiance looks like a typical sports bar. Currently it's hot but there is a patio outside that I plan to take advantage of later in the fall. I sat at the bar and order a six piece battered wing which was around $8-9. The flavors were barbecue and lemon pepper. I enjoyed the barbecue flavor as the sauce had a little kick but was good. Now I didn't like the lemon pepper. I think they fried the wing dings and sprinkled ALOT of lemon pepper. It was so salty I couldn't even eat it. I tried dusting it off but it was too much. Wouldn't recommend. Overall all I would be back maybe to get more of a bar experience as I think this spot has potential to be at least a 4 or 5. Sean, Kat and the team remembers your order and have great customer service. The menu here is vast and good, we had Caitlin explain the menu one day and what a well rounded and thought out pub menu. The food here is solid and most importantly is the vibe. The guests are amicable and seem down to earth, it's pleasant to visit each time. They have fantastic wings and an IPA that resonates to all IPA drinkers, I can say, I have drunk many different ones to count (lived in SOCAL for some time) and attended many BeerFests. They have more than 30+ televisions and show mostly sports and some other programs. They also feature a jukebox, darts, a cigarette vending machine, video golf, and other digital bar games that require a tablet to play. This is one of our favorite haunts during the week! The best part is that the service is always amazing, super friendly and engaging. Nightly drink specials give you options and the pour on mixed drinks is stand out. As for the food, we like to call it elevated bar food! There are two options for seating, indoor and outdoor. Indoors is always lively but in a good way. Outdoors can get lively during a game but overall has a pretty chill vibe. If the drink prices don't keep you coming back, the food certainly will. Our favorite is steak night and it doesn't disappoint! Just as a litmus test, we had two mains, one shot, three beers and two mixed drinks and the bill was $60 before the tip! That's a bargain for the area! The steak is always cooked well. I order mine medium rare and it's close if not dead on. It's fire grilled out back and the flavor is on point. I've never had to pull the rip cord on steak sauce and that's saying something! If you are looking for a great time and not break the bank on a laid back dinner with drinks, this is the spot. My favorite neighborhood Tavern out here. They if ambiance is great and clean and really good food!! Service is so exceptional here! I've become somewhat of a regular especially on Wednesdays when they have steak nite and $4 whiskey and wine nite! Thankful to my landlord for introducing me to this spot. They have an amazing steak finger basket as well (not pictured) that tastes just like of not better than Dairy Queen! Definitely recommend if you're in the area. Awesome! We stopped by to catch some football and had a fantastic time. The service was top-notch, and I really enjoyed the Rum and Coke--it was a perfect mix! We ordered a Dressed Dos Equis, which was prepared just right. We decided to share a buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings, and it came out perfectly halved. This is my favorite place to meet friends, socialize and meet new people... Not to mention eat! The blackened catfish on Friday was excellent. If you haven't tried their chicken fried steak, chicken or Pork Chops, you are missing some really great food at a reasonable. price! Colleen, the owner, has a winning staff and John & kitchen staff do a great job of serving consistently good food! I eat here at least once a week. The new menu is out and I love the Torpedo Shrimp. Hubby and I visited for Steak Night on the suggestion of our neighbors. We were very underwhelmed. The steak had zero flavor & no seasoning. Cool spot for darts! Steak night has been worth it most times. 1 out of about 3 or 4 times I seem to get the worst steak with the most fat and gristle. All of the guys who bartend are pretty cool, and so is Bridgette! The waitresses though are not friendly. I've pretty much forced 1 to talk to me. She's the only one who MIGHT speak when I'm there. This place is close to where we live, so we go here fairly often. Over the last 4 - 5 times it has been between not good and bad! The waitresses are usually good. The prices are pretty good. The food, however, has been lacking for our last several visits. IDK if they changed something, but the chicken tenders that used to be some of the best were some of the worst today. They used to be lightly crispy but today they were soggy and slimy on the inside. If this is the new normal, count me out. They have served cold mashed potatoes and cold gravy each of my last several visits. Am I supposed to ask for a *hot* meal? Today, I sent them back to be warmed up, and, guess what? They brought them back ... still cold. I have had other issues, as well, but those were more one-off problems. Time out, get it together! read more

The Slap Ya Mama chips are absolutely delicious, especially when dipped into cheese sauce! I ordered Red Bull and vodka and it was SO freaking good! My dad and I have become regulars at Time Out Tavern. I enjoyed coming here last Halloween, The Super Bowl this year, and there was even a Christmas in July party I went to. Have always liked this place since it opened up 20 years ago. Have excellent food and service. Have over 30 TV's to watch whatever sport's entertainment you want. Saturday's they have a full slate of College Football all day long plus they will show the Astros' games with them. Sundays are NFL games including their own Texans games. They will even put the Cowboys' games on if you ask. Also the Astros games. I just love this place during the football season. Also no smoking inside! The manger Bridget is extremely rude and maybe racist i was told to leave for no reason after I have come in daily and paid for a drink and sit with my friend talking about life outside on porch in the same spot everyday I have to move money to a physical card from my online banking accounts sometimes and it takes a few minutes so I wait till get it then order drink I was having issues transferring my funds tonight and was going to sit down and do it after stood a few minutes and had trouble then some kind ladies asked was I ok as I was walking off and I said yes they said did I need uber or anything I said no I was trying to tranfer my money to my physical card because there is no tap pay they said don't worry we will buy you a drink I said you don't have to they said it's no problem so I sat down where I had just left and continued to try on my phone still she just said let them know what you want I didn't even ask the bartender because I still wanted to use mine . Also I come here right after work so they know I work and know I just got job and knoe I applied here to they also know l have used my card multiple times here so they know i come with my own money and buy my own drink with what I have. But then a bartender came up and said can I talk to you from a minute and said ms Bridget wants you to leave because you ask our customers for drink and it seem to be regular and I said no that's not the case I dont ask for drinks I have been offered you can ask the ladies right there and my friend outside he said let me ask the manager Ms Bridget then came back and said she said no and she wants you leave she doesn't want to deal with it tonight . I then asked still politely may I speak to her he said no it's kind of busy and honestly it was not and he said she wants you to leave now so I say OK and leave . This was uncalled for and very rude it was just wrong why lie about what I can prove on cameras to you boss and with transaction receipts on my phone and with my friend that I do talk to at the bar and I have their numbers they come to the bar often so I have 3 ways of proving that I have nothing wrong and yet Ms Bridget didn't bother to verify anything or even come up with a valid reason I came in in my work clothes like obviously I work and am not some bum. I went for an early dinner tonight. I thought it was more of a restaurant and then I opened the door to like 30 stares. Not mean, but, who is this? I was greeted in a friendly manner and when I said I came for food, I was given a lot of attention and guidance. This was greatly appreciated. I could tell the people knew each other and it feel very homey. Love the smoke free environment as I have allergies. All staff were super sweet. They were slow to act, but I think that is what most guests want, to take their time. No harm and no foul. I would like to try again and try some guilty bad for you appetizers. The Chicken Fried Steak and Okra was Amazing! I actually ate the mashed potatoes, but they were water, and could use cream. I saved the best for take out. Overall, I loved the feeling, the banter with regulars, and friends service. I hope to return and get some more appetizers when I am in the mood for it! I will come again. Have you ever been to a place you remembered being amazing and it had just fallen apart completely? Time Out Tavern is a shadow of its former self. They have closed their kitchen for remodeling for an unspecified amount of time, and they are currently serving what can best be described as cafeteria food. My friend ordered pork chops, and she got two slaps of something that was just barely identifiable - two quarter-inch-thick pieces of meat so overcooked they turned up at the edges served with gelatinous brown gravy and insipid green beans that were losing their color from being cooked too long. The only thing edible was her salad. The other options weren't much better... meatloaf, a rubbery grilled chicken entree, and some other things I can't remember. There is nothing on the menu for a vegetarian. I'm an omnivore, but one of my friends is. On some nights they apparently have food trucks, but that wasn't an option tonight. Their menu said they allowed Domino's Pizza delivery, but after waiting almost an hour for pizza to be delivered for our whole table, the manager swooped in and swiftly told me we weren't allowed to have it. It wasn't a gentle correction. I would have understood, "Hey guys. I'm sorry, but we don't allow Domino's Pizza to be delivered until 10 p.m. I know it says that you can have Domino's on our menu, but if you really read it, it's not allowed until after 10 p.m." The way they have it listed on the temporary menu is confusing. We had six professionals at our table, and we were all shocked. We were even more shocked at how he corrected me. He said, "You can't have that. Domino's isn't allowed until 10." He was curt bordering on rude. Honestly, we would have left and spent money on drinks elsewhere, but we chose to support a business we had loved during their transition and settle for Domino's. At least they'd make their money on drinks. I can't imagine they're making much money on food right now, especially with the meager options. When I say there is nothing appealing on their menu, I mean nothing. Iceberg lettuce salads with overcooked meat. Macaroni and cheese made with what seemed like store-bought elbow pasta swimming in watery cheese sauce that resembled soup more than macaroni and cheese. The bright spot was our waitress. She was awesome and on-the-spot with drinks. I usually don't order margaritas at dive bars. Mine was decent... about par for the course for what I'd expect at a dive bar. By the way, I don't say dive bar disparagingly. I LOVE a good dive bar. The world needs more dives! We used to love their appetizers. Sure, it was a fried food bonanza and nothing spectacular, but they were perfect for an after-work happy hour. They were all solid... fried pickles, onion rings, cheese sticks, mushrooms plus potato skins and deviled eggs. Oh how the mighty have fallen. They've lost six customers tonight. That won't make or break them. I have no delusions about that. I guess I'm writing this because i'm sad. I miss what they used to be. And poor management just poured salt on the wound. Kitchen closes at midnight and I'm sitting at the bar waiting for one of the bartenders to acknowledge me to be waited on. I ended up having to walk around to the opposite side of the bar near the register where the bartenders were talking amongst themselves. I interrupted their conversation asking to place an order before the kitchen closed. The short guy with glasses asked one of waitresses to take my order. So as I'm telling her my order he walks over to the register and says "ITS CLOSED". I'm looking confused and he says "the kitchen is closed". I'm saying it's taken almost 10 minutes of me waiting to be acknowledged with me having to get someone's attention. I guess the color of my skin wasn't light enough to get quality service.
