Second time since coming for the Tuesday deal. Sat at the bar this time. Ordered 10 honey citrus boneless, and 10 cool ranch bone-in. Citrus is always a go to now for me. The cool ranch was a little over cooked, about half of that order. Had the Long Island drink special as well. But what draw my attention was a roach that appeared 20 minutes after getting my order from the area of where the menu is placed when not in use. It literally came right near my tray on my wax paper close to my wings. I moved my plate so quick because I was enjoying my dinner. SHEESH, BUG CONTROL. The bar waitress ask if I was OK, or needed anything, and I EXPLAINED. ANOTHER staff said they had pest control come and spray prior. Good enough to know for me. First time here, and I had a great time celebrating a coworker's birthday! The Tuesday special of buy one get one wings and $3 Long Islands was fantastic. The drinks were well mixed, and the wings--both bone-in and boneless--were really tasty. They have plenty of flavors to choose from, so you can pick spicy or mild depending on your mood. Great service! Everyone was very helpful! Our waitress Ember was great and showed us our ticket before we paid. The manager was attentive and completed several table taps. This was our first time here. The atmosphere was good. The service... eeh. We sat for far too long before anyone came to take our drink order. There are only two of us. We ordered fries and potato wedges as an appetizer and chicken tenders with ranch. Here is my tip. If you're going to order an appetizer. Order only that first. Do not place your "meal" order at the same time or you will receive all of the food all at once. If you eat like a famished pig, go ahead and order it all as it will have no time to get cold. However, if you converse and are entertaining someone or others, you will want to order them time apart, or your meal will need to be nuked. Being clear about what dips or sides you order is important or you will wait an additional 5-7 min for them to retrieve it. The food specifically, was eeh. The tenders were so dry even with sauce that had I had to squeeze out juice to put out a small flame the place would have caught fire. The onion rings would have survived and possibly saved the wedges. Both had good flavor and the onion ring sauce was surprisingly delicious. The onion rings themselves had a slight sweet flavor complementing the sauce, the sweet tea was pretty good I just wish I could have had another glass. Might return to try another dish. I walked into the location to place my order today. After placing my order, I waited in the truck for about 15 minutes for my order. Okay, not bad wait at all and they were busy. I received the text that my order was ready. I went in and the people at the counter told me it hasn't come from the kitchen yet. After waiting another 10 minutes, I saw the manager. I told him they seemed to be lost at whose food went to which order. He just said, "yeah, they are trying to get caught up." They then brought me my order. The order was missing the waffle fries and the small blue cheese I ordered. The blue cheese that was supposed to be with the kids meal was actually ranch. Two of the three flavors of wings we ordered were wrong. Unfortunately, I didn't know any of this until after I had gotten home. I called the store to tell them about the issue. The first call I made, they picked up; didn't say a word; and hung up on me. I called a second time and was immediately put on hold. When they came on, I asked for a manager. I was put on hold for several minutes. Then the lady came back on and said, "the manager is too busy to talk to you right now. Call back later." Then they hung up again. First time patronizing this restaurant. It was my birthday. Already feeling down being new to Texas and not knowing anyone here, and celebrating my birthday alone. I mistakingly walked into Big City Wings to order a Cesar side salad. Salad comes out an I noticed that the dressing was in a sauce cup but half full. I knew the salad would be dry so I asked how much for an additional dressing.... $1.25 for a small half filled sauce cup. Of course I declined but quickly realized I had no utensil in which to eat my dry salad. So I go back in, and no one is at the front. 2 tables are seated and 3 people at the bar. 3 staff members make eye contact with me an NO ONE acknowledges me. Finally the bartender says he'll be right with me.....but never did. Simply continued catering to the 3 customers at the bar. Young male who was at the front that initially gave me my salad also gave me eye contact but never approached or acknowledged. The female staff who also was initially at the front made eye contact with me, but again no acknowledgment. Finally what appears to be a female manager walks out of the kitchen all the way up to the front of the restaurant. I'm thinking ok cool but nope, she skirted off to the bar where the bartender was. Mind you, I'm the only person standing at the front counter so it's not hard to see me. Frustrated, I approach the bar to firmly ask for a fork because what is happening here?? The presumed manager asks if she can help me (obviously feeling my negative energy). I explained that I'd just purchased a salad but I can't eat it with my hands. She quickly apologized and grabbed a fork from behind the counter. I explained that this was my first visit here and I don't understand what is happening. She apologized and explained if she'd seen me, she would have assisted me. I reminded her that we looked dead at each other when she walked all the way up here from the kitchen and that she herself didn't assist. Mumbling under my breath disgusted "this is the worst treatment to get on your birthday" referring to repeatedly being openly ignored by 4 staff members. The presumed manager says awww it's your birthday????? But I was over it an just walked out with my fork to eat my dry salad in my car. This boils down poor customer service, attentiveness, and lack training. Multi tasking is expected in the restaurant industry. Needless to say, I won't be back. I was out in Atascosita area and stopped in here for wings, you know I love some wings! When I checked in I got a coupon for a free onion ring or fried pickles, I went with the pickles. They were okay, with fried pickles you need a good balance of pickle and batter. In this case the pickles took over the show, just needed more or thicker batter. Then the wings came out with the tots. I ordered mango habanero and teriyaki. Both flavors tasted like they just bought a bottle of Kikkoman's teriyaki sauce and a generic bottle of mango habanero sauce from Kroger and poured over the wings. The tots were sub par also. This is my first visit to a Big City Wings. It'sa busy family place that gets snug. I got to try the wings, they were good not too oily. The waffle fries were a little undercooked but also good. The big mugs are huge for a woman to finish maybe the equivalent of 3 beers. I had a blue moon with a nice sized orange wedge. My bf has no issue finishing his though. Upon arrival I noticed that instead of Potato Skins I received mozzarella sticks and the wing basket which was supposed to be lemon pepper and garlic parmesan looked and taste like they doused the wings with honey mustard and sprinkled with parmesan. They were gross. The lemon pepper were just okay. The fried mushrooms were soggy. I spent $70 on trash and could have ordered elsewhere for a lot cheaper with better tasting food. When using styrofoam with fried foods you MUST puncture a couple of small holes in the styrofoam to allow the steam to escape and not cause food to be soggy. read more
