I haven't been to Waffle House in forever. We made a quick stop here, coming back from a trip. I got a basic dish of cheesy scrambled eggs, toast, and hashbrowns with onions. For a quick diner meal, it was great! Our server was attentive and friendly. We got there around 9pm on a Monday night and it was basically empty. The restaurant was clean, but kind of cold though. read more

We stopped in during our travels because we wanted something close to the highway. First impression was how clean it was inside (especially compared to other WH I've visited over the years). Everyone inside was cordial as we made our way to our seats and the staff seemed to know a lot of the regulars. The coffee was hot and ready as we sat down. The service was quick even with it being busy. All our food was done very well including crispy hash browns and a delicious sausage sandwich (no picture because my son dived in too fast). read more

Great service. The staff was attentive, kind and helpful. Our waitress was honest about what we ordered, making suggestions. Food was very good, the cooks asked if we needed anything after dropping off sides and took the time to throw on two extra eggs that we didn't originally order. Restrooms were clean. :) read more

Hailey is an amazing server and needs at least 40 hours/week! the Waffle House in Smithsburg is better with her in it.

Good food, quick service all for less than $10! What a deal in a convenient spot off the expressway in Hagerstown. Props to a friendly staff! read more

Waffle House - $6 Breakfast Meal with Coffee +$2.6 - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Hagerstown, Maryland

I had an unexpected night in the Hagerstown area and decided to have breakfast to go for when I arrived home. It's the Waffle House, so you shouldn't expect the red carpet to be rolled out for you, however, the woman who greeted me was very nice. I was provided a menu and given a few minutes to order. I placed my order to go, the Allstar and was good to go! My order took no time to come out and I drove it home to devour it! Soo good! As expected!! Love Waffle House! read more

Now watch me whip...watch me Nay-Nay. (Okay!) Now watch me whip, whip...watch me Nay-Nay Sorry. Just had to get that out of my system, as that song was immediately stuck in my head after meeting my server for the day (see pic below). Aah...Waffle House, how I've missed you! You're like the distant redneck cousin of Denny's that I never asked for; but SO grateful I got! This place may often be referred to as "the grease spoon kitchen", but it really depends on what you look for in a breakfast that day. I can tell you this: you can order your food pretty much any way that you like and you can see just about everything that's being prepared in the kitchen. Very rarely have I ever been disappointed in a Waffle House. Unfortunately, you basically have to live in the South (closer to the East coast) to find one. And sometimes Oklahoma as well. One thing I found intriguing about this location: they are literally located a mere 10 feet away from a Cracker Barrel. Seriously, I could spit across the parking lot. That's gotta be weird, right? I mean...the element of laborious competition via famous chains alone, not to mention the internal debate a patron has.. "Should I go for the greasy spoon bumpkin redneck breakfast...or the old timer country style breakfast?" Oh...the possibilities. But...I digress. I can't really say enough good things about this place, especially since they're a chain establishment and are almost all pretty much the same. So i'm just gonna end this review with 4 artery clogging greasy spoons out of 5. read more

Super friendly staff and the food was pretty dang good at a ridiculously affordable price! We probably could have ordered one plate between the two of us (it was a healthy portion size). My only complaint was that the bacon was a little too crispy, but overall this was a solid breakfast. This was also my first time ever eating at a Waffle House! I'm satisfied. read more

Waffle House - Bacon egg cheese and hashbrown bowl - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Hagerstown, Maryland

Solid experience. It's Waffle House. Waitress did mixup my order but not a big deal. Greasy food, just what my hangover needed.

Wanted to treat myself to breakfast...food was mehhh. Pros: Location Friendly and fast service Crispy bacon Good waffle Con: Servers did NOT practice Covid precautions! Stood right on top of you and your food. And dirty fingernails FILTHY...floors, windows (in and out) Empty ketchup bottles and sticky syrup bottles...at 9am... Hashbrowns were half cooked and tasted oily. Bacon had a funny oily taste Scrambled eggs were hard Glad I tried it, may give it another go but next time it will be ordered to go. read more

The food was a amazing the service was fast and the restaurant was clean and are server was amazing her name was karissa it was just awesome

This location is right off of the exit. I didn't have to drive far down any back roads to get to this location. Just a little less than a mile or so off the exit. This location is across the parking lot (walking) from Cracker Barrel. Like most Waffle Houses, this one didn't disappoint! What you've grown to love about WH, you will get here. Don't forget about the options for your hashbrowns: gravy, jalapenos, mushrooms, onions and more! Yummmmmmm! read more

5 stars for Hannah's hospitality and service , she's awesome. After she seen me waiting and being ignored for 10 minutes sitting at the counter waiting for it to be cleaned off and be served (which i guess LINDA was the server) she told me she'd serve me in her section. After another server LINDA purposely didn't come up to me or serve me, it was rude and uncalled for. This is not the first time my family on seperate occasions )because I am not from here) have been treated at this location. read more

For a breakfast diner, this place provided quick service, hot food, and great hospitality. Plus... The bacon was to die for. Nuff said.

Jess was my server and she was awesome, easily one of the best Waffle House servers I've come across. Food is fast and delicious. However you might wanna tell them to go easy on the oil, I found a greasy mess beneath my hash browns, but that depends on who's cooking. read more

The waitress checked on me twice, didn't really clear out any plates. The food was mediocre for $12 and I only got a sandwich that was pretty small for the price and one fried egg. The coffee was nearly $3 and didn't taste that great, they were stingy with service and I'll never be back here ever. read more

Taste like shit I felt like I was going to throw up that was the worst fucking food I ever had I was on my way to Virginia it was 3:00am

Standard Waffle House flair and style. No frills, just waffles, bacon and strong coffee. This establishment was clean, had fast service, and was easy to find seating in (even during a lunch rush). I'd go back. read more

I attended this establishment on Saturday around 11 am. Let me first say that I did not expect to see what I saw at this spot. First I thought I was going to get a big fluffy waffle, this waffle was thin. My scrabble eggs had a piece of cheese that wasn't even melted on my eggs. My next issue was watching the cook with no gloves on continuously went into the refrigerator and kept grabbing bacon out and placing it on the grill. Sanitation is a problem with this place. It also didn't help that there was a metal pale hanging off the stove with old grease and the cook turning the knob watching the grease come out while eating my food. JUST KNOW THIS WILL BE MY FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER AT THIS FINE ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Best meal I ever had and it was only $8. Great Waffle House and Jess is an absolute wifey.

Good, solid comfort food. Staff are friendly. The tidiness and cleanliness needs to be improved though. There were dirty napkins all over the floor, mop was laying on the floor, menu were kinda sticky, cutlery was not clean etc. Service was quick and food was hot. Their peanut butter waffle is very good. read more

Absolutely disgusting. Worst meal I've had in awhile. Service was awful and the food not cooked as ordered.

Brought to Hagerstown under gloomy circumstances and traveling by a moonless, starless night, my cousins and I were searching for something that would both cheer us up and that was open late. Did I mention we were hungry? Enter: the Waffle House. With a menu 2/3 smaller than IHOP's or Denny's, the Waffle House is not aiming to compete with that crowd. Instead, it offers food that's very easy to prepare and quick to make. And they make it pretty much in plain view, as well. Everyone talks about the greasiness of their food. That's not a myth, it's a fact. If you don't like your food swimming in oil and butter or some other heart attack inducing substance, then you might go hungry late at night. Their grits, waffle, hash browns, forks, knives, spoons are all marinated in butter. Just kidding! Anyway, the food is good. Don't expect great and you won't be disappointed. One thing that bugged me is that it's a waffle house, but no Belgian waffle. Huh? Oh well. It's open 24/7 365, has several rustic charms (like a jukebox w/ CDs in it) and the service at this Waffle House is excellent. read more

Waffle House - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Hagerstown, Maryland

My husband and I moved here around 4 years ago. We would drive past the Waffle House almost every day. We just assumed, we wouldn't like it.. Shame on us!! So one morning we decided to give it a chance.. The staff was so nice and the atmosphere was chill.. Not to mention, for the price you pay, you definitely get your money's worth, if not more!! I highly recommend, the "create your own hash browns," and of course the Waffles! read more

My review may be slightly skewed based on the fact that there are absolutely no Waffle Houses close to me (New Jersey). The establishment was clean, the staff friendly and fast. They weren't too busy, so I got my order quickly. I love hash browns, and their options make it all that much better. The coffee was decent, and my rib eye was done pretty well. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever close by. read more

College students eat A LOT normally. Now imagine if multiple groups of college students go to Whitetail for college night and snowboard/ski for 5 hours. Afterwards they're REALLY hungry. So on the way to Whitetail my friends saw the Wafflehouse ad off one of the food signs on the highway and thought it would be a great place to eat on the way back. Being very hungry toward the end of the trip we thought it would be an awesome idea... that's what we THOUGHT. It was actually a VERY BAD IDEA. My friends and I pulled up and the moment we got out of the car we were greeted with a very foul smell (smelled a garbage truck just drove by). We rushed in hoping that our nose would be filled with a delicious waffle smell but it didn't happen. We sat ourselves down and noticed that there were at least 4 other groups there who had just come from college night. There were only 3 people working, 2 serving and 1 cooking. It took at least 15 minutes before a waitress came to us to get our order. I ordered the club sandwich w/ hashbrowns off the under $5 menu. My friends ordered the bacon sandwich w/ chili, 3 waffles, and the egg&cheese sandwich w/ hashbrowns. After placing our order it took 20 minutes for JUST the waffles to come out. Then another 5 min for the chili. The waffles were fluffy and good... not great. My friends actually stopped eating the waffles midway through because... WE DIDN'T HAVE DRINKS! It had been 25 min since we arrived and we still didn't get our drinks. It gets even BETTER. Two groups of our friends arrived and got seated at other tables. During the time we were waiting for our food ONE group managed to order AND get their drinks. Wait a minute... they came AFTER us and got their drinks before us?! After waiting another 5 minutes the waitress came up to me and said they didn't have the materials to make the club sandwich. I told her I wanted the chicken sandwich instead. HOLY CRAP! IT TOOK YOU THAT LONG TO NOTICE YOU DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE MATERIALS FOR MY FOOD?! We waited for another 20 minutes before our food actually came and we asked for our drinks. The chicken sandwich was good but was pretty small. It was gone in a few bites. My friend said his bacon sandwich was decent and same with the egg&cheese. Now during the time we were eating the second group of friends that came in didn't even get their order taken! They couldn't handle waiting anymore so they left for Wendy's (Should have done that to begin with). Apparently there was some group that was there BEFORE us and got service AFTER we got our food. I'm surprised they even waited that long. To Summarize: - Horrible, crappy service. - Basic food that takes FOREVER to get in front of you. - Came in at 10:30 PM and left at 12:00 AM. - Most likely never coming back unless I'm in desperate need of food. read more

Service is always fast and courteous, food is always good. The burgers are amazing for under $2. It is our go-to place.

What the heck did I just go through? That's the question. Food was good but waitress was probably the worst I ever seen. She gave us the food and what not. But when it was paying time she was extremely rude. The bill was 20 dollars. And I gave her a tip for 5. (25% which was reasonable) but she started to become angry complaining that my buddies didn't tip also. She wasn't happy with the tip? What is this. She started complaining about she didn't do anything wrong. I don't know I Thought the tip was fair . Opinions? read more
