Nostalgic venue in a quirky, historic WV town. We stopped for lunch at the Inn, and we noticed seats at the bar as we entered. Bartender was quick to greet, and efficient with drink service. We had the grilled romaine salad and eggplant pesto sandwich, both of which were unique and delicious. I have trouble chewing thin, flimsy foods such as cooked spinach or celery, so the grilled romaine was a challenge for me, but the dressing and chicken were perfect. The atmosphere harkens to a much earlier time, and it would certainly be a great stop for anyone who appreciates old architecture and history. Fantastic lunch, recommend!

The Morgan Tavern offers a comfortable intimate spot for good food and drink. It serves the same menu as the other Country Inn restaurants though they often have specials. We wanted a light meal after nice massages in the Old Bath House so shared some appetizers. The bang bang shrimp were outstanding. The special that night was flatiron steak tacos served four on a plate. Very good.

Just. Stay. Away. Service was awful. Food was abysmal. Overpriced. Only positive is atmosphere.

Went there for breakfast. They don't serve breakfast, so we left. Parking is a problem.

The atmosphere was one of the best parts of the experience. The music was great, people were singing, and the whole place felt fun, relaxed, and like somewhere you genuinely want to spend time. The hostess was wonderful, and our server, Trinity, was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing, and that made the experience even better. We started with drinks at the table, and both were excellent. The Washington's Rebellion Cherry Bounce was memorable and very well done, and the house smoked old fashioned was also delicious. We then had the Roasted Brussels, and they were absolutely amazing. The combination of honey, balsamic glaze, candied pecans, and parmesan was outstanding. For the main course, I had the Powderhorn Chop, and the flavor was very good. My only critique is that it would have benefited from a stronger sear and a bit more crust on the outside. A little more Maillard reaction, that browning of proteins and sugars that creates deeper savory complexity, would have elevated it even further. We also had a salmon special that evening, and that was outstanding. Dessert was another highlight, especially the warm pecan bourbon pie with ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Service was a major strength. In addition to Trinity being so warm and attentive, other staff members, including management, came by to make sure everything was going well. We also appreciated that they offer a military discount. This was our first time here, and so far it is the best restaurant we have tried in the Berkeley Springs area. We were told they are expanding, and we are already looking forward to coming back, especially if outdoor seating is added in the future. This feels like exactly the kind of place we will return to often, especially when friends come to visit.

I wished that the had a printed version as the did for specialty cocktails. Schweety chose the Troeg IPA and I had a glass of who knows what Sauvignon Blanc. Both entrees were very good! Located on a hill - plenty of parking across the street. The restaurant is inside an older style home but it still has nice space, and is very quaint, quiet and intimate. Low lighting and just a very cozy atmosphere. The time of your reservation is the time of your seating so coming early doesn't mean you'll be sat early. Ordered a mixed drink from the bar and a half bottle of some wine for the table. It is a fixed price menu, but there are some very good options that cover a lot of different flavors and tastes. For an appetizer I went with the special soup: French onion - which wasn't the traditional kind with the cheese melted over the bowl. Instead it was a piece of bread with melted cheese in the soup. Not my favorite presentation I've ever had of this dish - but the flavor was good. Also tried the fried green tomatoes - which were good. Really liked the pimento cheese under the tomato slices and the other garnish sauces on the plate. For my entree I chose the filet mignon. It was paired with mashed potatoes and a cream sauce. Steak was ordered medium, parts of it were definitely rare. Still very good. Added a side of mac and cheese which was very creamy and good. For the dessert, I opted to go with the carrot cake. Probably the best dessert I've had in recent memory: cake was moist, the topping was a very sweet cream cheese and caramel drizzle. Overall, this place was very good. Our waitress was very personable and talkative, providing ideas and taking the time to make sure our experience was normal and comfortable. Would highly recommend here.

I didn't expect to find such a gem in this more rural area but I stand corrected. Love the concept and what they are doing here. The historic house is so charming, it's in a small intimate setting and everything from the halibut to hush puppies with wild ramps was amazing. Wine selection and cocktails with recommendations were very well curated. Service and recommendations was top notch. We will definitely go back when we come back to visit!

From there, however, things took a turn, and the reason this review is only three stars can be summed up in one word: KAREN. Karen was our server, though from the moment she arrived at our table, it was clear she didn't want to be. Her body language screamed disinterest, and she made minimal effort to hide her preference for socializing with a nearby table of bikers over doing her actual job. When we inquired about a specialty lemonade advertised at the table, Karen said she'd check if they had it. Instead, she first visited the biker table, chatted for a while, wandered to the bar, and then circled back to the bikers again before finally letting us know it was available. We placed our drink orders and Karen returned to the biker party. Our drinks arrived 15 minutes later, and we placed our meal orders: a ribeye with baked potato (sour cream and butter) and coleslaw for me, and a crab cake with broccoli and the same baked potato setup for my wife. Karen? Back at the biker table. The food came out about 20 minutes later and I'll be honest; it was excellent. The chef grilled my ribeye to perfection. I'm not usually a fan of baked potatoes, but this one changed my mind. Even the coleslaw, though a bit too creamy for me, was fresh and flavorful. Presentation was spot on. But as we ate, dehydrated from hours in 100-degree heat, we realized we needed water refills and extra sour cream. Unfortunately, by then, the biker party had left, and so had Karen. After another 10 minutes of searching, we flagged her down. She returned with a larger water glass but no lemon. We had to flag her down again, and another server eventually brought the lemon. And just as we were halfway through our entrées, Karen dropped off the check and asked if we wanted dessert. The implication was clear: she'd already decided we wouldn't be needing it. When we finally finished our meal, we waited. And waited. Karen had vanished. I approached the hostess to ask if we could check out, and she said she'd find Karen. This seemed to trigger an all-out search effort by the staff, as multiple servers began looking for her. Eventually, another server processed our bill. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, we spotted Karen laughing with one biker outside. Maybe she's ready to trade in her apron for a leather jacket, but her lack of professionalism did a disservice to the kitchen and the rest of the staff. To be clear: the food was fantastic. The kitchen deserves five stars. But Karen's service dragged the entire experience down. A server's job is to be present, attentive, and at the very least courteous -- none of which applied here.
