If you are in the vicinity, I highly recommend trying this place. We went for a late breakfast and it was so good! It was very busy but well worth the wait. We were given an estimate of about 20 minutes but didn't even have to wait that long. Employees were extremely friendly, especially the older lady who took the names for the wait list in the front. Not too pricey and the food was absolutely delicious. Very family friendly. Only thing to note is all breakfast foods are available after 11 except pancakes. Will definitely be back! read more

Bad traffic on the interstate rerouted us through Berkley Springs and luckily, at 8:00am Charlotte's Cafe was open! Schweety and I each had a breakfast bowl. He had the chorizo and I had the gravy (today's was sausage). Each had a base of wonderful home fries then featured topping, melty cheese and scrambled eggs. Included was a bread of choice. Had a great breakfast at this little restaurant during a visit to Berkeley Springs. The place was hopping on a Friday around lunchtime - we were lucky to find a parking spot. Fortunately, there wasn't a wait to be seated. We were waited on immediately & our server was attentive throughout. There was definitely a family restaurant vibe & there were plenty of customers. Wow wow wow! finally made it out to Charlotte's Cafe in Berkeley Springs and I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner! This is easily in my top 5 breakfast ever, and I'm not a huge fan of breakfast food The Breakfast tacos were amazing! They were more on a tostada and I would classify this more as a huevos rancheros but the chorizo was packed with flavor and not super spicy . You can probably ask for the sunny side eggs to be made another way but the beans and everything else just mixed perfectly. The banana Bread French toast is some of the most amazing soft/spongy French toast I've ever had. I can't imagine how good the regular is if this one is this amazing. This is 100% worth the trip out here, I can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner to try their other items. Comfort food to the max ‼The service was super fast and it's a nice comfy diner feel. Sometimes a detour is good thing! On our way back from Peterson, WV, we decided to drive through Berkley springs, WV. Quaint tiny town know for its natural baths. Apparently George Washington used to frequent this town coz of the mineral rich waters . This little town is just 6 miles outside MD border. We walked around town for a bit and then decided to drive to Charlotte's for lunch. It's not in the main part of the town, just outside . It's a fairly large restaurant and it was packed coz of the long weekend. An American diner , serving breakfast all day. They are open till 4 pm. We started off with the chilli , and even my picky eater kids loved it! My Philly steak was spot on! Cheesy caramelized onion, with perfectly cooked steak, melted cheese and bell peppers, it also came with a side of the best tater tots I've ever had. My hubby had the kale salad and said it was really good, can topped with raisins, pecans, and sliced apples. My kids had the pancake and French toast, they liked it, but I thought the French toast tasted too eggy. What an adorable, quaint spot in town! Came for breakfast on a summer Monday, enjoyed eating my meal outside looking at the mountains. Staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Everything about this place was amazing. The servers were super friendly, there were a lot of delicious items on the menu, and the decor and ambiance was delightful. The manager of Charlotte's Cafe informed my husband that he shouldn't call back because this was our second complaint about their food. The "Big John's" burger meal that my husband purchased for me was not only covered in grease, but the burger was raw. We normally frequent this establishment on a regular basis even though the food is overpriced because we have few options in our town for home cooked food, but the rudeness, unconcern, and denial exhibited by the manager needs to be known. WOW. I happened to find this cafe online because we needed outdoor seating where dogs are allowed. I was blown away by the food and service! Everyone was so nice when we walked in and helpful. They definitely gave our puppy lots of love and attention while we dined. The food was also amazing. The portion sizes were huge and very filling. Our server was extremely patient and kind and was constantly checking in with us. I definitely recommend you get the pancakes. Loved this cute little Cafe in Berkeley Springs! The staff is friendly, the menu has a great selection, food is tasty, and the patio is dog friendly! We stopped here for breakfast while passing through the area. I saw the fruity pebbles French toast on the menu and had to get it. It was good, but i think it would have been better using some sort of fluffier bread like brioche to separate the textures a bit. I still give them credit for adding a fun and unique item to the menu! My husband had one of the scramble bowls and it was delicious. They also have a glass case at the counter filled with an assortment of creative desserts and baked goods. I wanted to try everything! The other thing I'll note is that not only do they have a baby changing table, but they actually stock those little disposable changing pads that go with the table! I have never ever seen these stocked at any place that I've used a changing table including fancy hotels and trendy restaurants. The menu is not extensive, but there's breakfast and lunch options as well as daily specials (one breakfast, one lunch). I had the Cuban sandwich special and it was fantastic. Granted, it's not a traditional Cuban but I really liked their take on it, which includes chimichurri. The onion rings as a side were great as well (other options include tater tots and coleslaw). Delicious, home-cooked meal with excellent service with a smile. My wife said she had the best turkey reuben of her life. My Monte Cristo had excellent ham and buttered toast. Fries were fresh and hand cut in a nice, non-greasy oil. We were headed up to the PA turnpike from the Shenandoah Valley - I imagine if you're coming west from the DMV this would be a nice stop for lunch. Not too far from I-70. Had lunch here a few days ago while visiting Berkeley Springs for the long weekend. First, about the food: It was great. The Southern Grilled Cheese was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. They make this apple butter BBQ sauce that's delicious. The onion rings were also terrific. And the desserts...you'll need to see them for yourself. But the kindness of the staff was above and beyond. Our 3-month old was crying and we spent a lot of time trying to get him to calm down. The woman running the place that day (the mother of the owner) came over and offered to pick him up and walk him around the restaurant while we enjoyed our lunch! While we got him settled and didn't have to take her up on it, I couldn't believe she offered. She also spent time telling us about local events, and really made us feel welcome, as did the rest of the staff. I'm tempted to drive the hour+ just for that sandwich, though. My wife and I were passing through town on the first of October. We stayed the night at an Airbnb outside of town for the night. The next morning we looked up a place to have breakfast and discovered Charlotte's Cafe. We both agree without question, we experienced the best breakfast either of us have ever had. I am 56, and I love breakfast. We started with apple cider doughnuts and a pumpkin spice coffee, amazing. My wife had the biscuits and gravy, best sausage gravy EVER! The staff were friendly and attentive. Everything was perfect, best meal on our seven day motorcycle road trip to Michigan.
