Had a great breakfast at this little restaurant during a visit to Berkeley Springs. The place was hopping on a Friday around lunchtime - we were lucky to find a parking spot. Fortunately, there wasn't a wait to be seated. We were waited on immediately & our server was attentive throughout. There was definitely a family restaurant vibe & there were plenty of customers. Now let's talk about food - My Girlfriend ordered Banana Bread French Toast w/ Egg & Turkey Sausage, while I went for the Breakfast Platter. All were great! All in all, a great experience - Charlotte's will be on the dining shortlist the next time we're in town!

Wow wow wow! finally made it out to Charlotte's Cafe in Berkeley Springs and I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner! This is easily in my top 5 breakfast ever, and I'm not a huge fan of breakfast food The Breakfast tacos were amazing! They were more on a tostada and I would classify this more as a huevos rancheros but the chorizo was packed with flavor and not super spicy . You can probably ask for the sunny side eggs to be made another way but the beans and everything else just mixed perfectly. The banana Bread French toast is some of the most amazing soft/spongy French toast I've ever had. I can't imagine how good the regular is if this one is this amazing. This is 100% worth the trip out here, I can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner to try their other items. Comfort food to the max ‼The service was super fast and it's a nice comfy diner feel. Def family friendly as well.

Sometimes a detour is good thing! On our way back from Peterson, WV, we decided to drive through Berkley springs, WV. Quaint tiny town know for its natural baths. Apparently George Washington used to frequent this town coz of the mineral rich waters . This little town is just 6 miles outside MD border. We walked around town for a bit and then decided to drive to Charlotte's for lunch. It's not in the main part of the town, just outside . It's a fairly large restaurant and it was packed coz of the long weekend. An American diner , serving breakfast all day. They are open till 4 pm. We started off with the chilli , and even my picky eater kids loved it! My Philly steak was spot on! Cheesy caramelized onion, with perfectly cooked steak, melted cheese and bell peppers, it also came with a side of the best tater tots I've ever had. My hubby had the kale salad and said it was really good, can topped with raisins, pecans, and sliced apples. My kids had the pancake and French toast, they liked it, but I thought the French toast tasted too eggy. Service was quick, very friendly staff and the place was clean and had plenty of parking!

What an adorable, quaint spot in town! Came for breakfast on a summer Monday, enjoyed eating my meal outside looking at the mountains. Staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Nice little spot for breakfast and lunch while in town. The sausage gravy eggs and biscuits was flavorful and filling! Brought half home to eat the next day, was just as good. And the homemade banana bread was fantastic. Fragrant and delicious

The manager of Charlotte's Cafe informed my husband that he shouldn't call back because this was our second complaint about their food. The "Big John's" burger meal that my husband purchased for me was not only covered in grease, but the burger was raw. We normally frequent this establishment on a regular basis even though the food is overpriced because we have few options in our town for home cooked food, but the rudeness, unconcern, and denial exhibited by the manager needs to be known. I'm going to attach a picture of said burger for reference.

WOW. I happened to find this cafe online because we needed outdoor seating where dogs are allowed. I was blown away by the food and service! Everyone was so nice when we walked in and helpful. They definitely gave our puppy lots of love and attention while we dined. The food was also amazing. The portion sizes were huge and very filling. Our server was extremely patient and kind and was constantly checking in with us. I definitely recommend you get the pancakes. We were too full but still tried one pancake and they are so fluffy and delicious!

Very popular cafe and for good reason! We had the best lunch there today--Kale salad, chicken salad wrap, banana cream pie . And the staff was lovely. Highly recommend.

    Vegetarian scramble bowl and coffee

Great breakfast during my recent stay. I pondered the various scramble bowls, but they had me at Brussels sprouts in the veggie bowl. The waitress was very efficient, and has perfected the art of being very friendly without veering into too chummy territory. All the food being brought to the tables around me looked equally drool-worthy, so I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu when I return. A bonus for fans, but you will have already spotted that in the photo, this place is a slice of Fiesta heaven!

Loved this cute little Cafe in Berkeley Springs! The staff is friendly, the menu has a great selection, food is tasty, and the patio is dog friendly! We stopped here for breakfast while passing through the area. I saw the fruity pebbles French toast on the menu and had to get it. It was good, but i think it would have been better using some sort of fluffier bread like brioche to separate the textures a bit. I still give them credit for adding a fun and unique item to the menu! My husband had one of the scramble bowls and it was delicious. They also have a glass case at the counter filled with an assortment of creative desserts and baked goods. I wanted to try everything! The other thing I'll note is that not only do they have a baby changing table, but they actually stock those little disposable changing pads that go with the table! I have never ever seen these stocked at any place that I've used a changing table including fancy hotels and trendy restaurants. I was majorly impressed and appreciate that extra gesture to take care of their guests. Good job Charlotte's Cafe!

Located on a hill - plenty of parking across the street. The restaurant is inside an older style home but it still has nice space, and is very quaint, quiet and intimate. Low lighting and just a very cozy atmosphere. The time of your reservation is the time of your seating so coming early doesn't mean you'll be sat early. Ordered a mixed drink from the bar and a half bottle of some wine for the table. It is a fixed price menu, but there are some very good options that cover a lot of different flavors and tastes. For an appetizer I went with the special soup: French onion - which wasn't the traditional kind with the cheese melted over the bowl. Instead it was a piece of bread with melted cheese in the soup. Not my favorite presentation I've ever had of this dish - but the flavor was good. Also tried the fried green tomatoes - which were good. Really liked the pimento cheese under the tomato slices and the other garnish sauces on the plate. For my entree I chose the filet mignon. It was paired with mashed potatoes and a cream sauce. Steak was ordered medium, parts of it were definitely rare. Still very good. Added a side of mac and cheese which was very creamy and good. For the dessert, I opted to go with the carrot cake. Probably the best dessert I've had in recent memory: cake was moist, the topping was a very sweet cream cheese and caramel drizzle. Overall, this place was very good. Our waitress was very personable and talkative, providing ideas and taking the time to make sure our experience was normal and comfortable. Would highly recommend here.

Review of Public House in Berkeley Springs, WV (3/2/25)…read moreAfter having Public House on our list for quite a while, we finally visited, and it was well worth the wait. The experience was very pleasant and unhurried, and we appreciated not having to drive far. The seating arrangement was comfortable, allowing for easy conversation with my husband without the frequent interruptions of loud noises. Our server was attentive and had to repeat all the specials because there were so many, which was impressive. Despite being a prix fixe menu, there were still plenty of options to choose from. For appetizers, I ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were definitely shareable. The portion size was generous. For the main course, I had the crab cakes, and once again, the serving was substantial. They certainly did not skimp on the portions. We shared a half bottle of Montepulciano wine, which was perfect and a great midpoint for the meal. The dessert was just the right amount to have a sweet bite without overindulging. Overall, we spent about 1.5 hours enjoying an intimate meal with a lot of good food to choose from in a cute, quaint house. Definitely recommended! L

The restaurant is cozy and only has a few seating options in the main bar area. It's a nice atmosphere and we loved the booths. I ended up ordering exactly what I had when I visited a few years ago, which was the Chicken Christy. It's a delicious dish of chicken, topped with ham, cheese and heavy cream. The sauce is great, and the meal comes with multiple sides. I ended up getting sweet potato fries along witn a delicious salad and blue cheese dressing. My partner got the Philly Steak and Cheese. It wasn't quite as good as the real deal of a Philly cheesesteak, but he still enjoyed it. Our kids loved their meals, which was basically cheeseburgers. We were a little surprised they couldn't just do a basic pasta with sauce. But apparently, they don't have any tomato sauce at this place. Lastly, we enjoyed the great price on the wine. We ended up getting a bottle of red wine from Paso Robles, California. We love Paso. While we never heard of this particular wine from the region, it was really tasty and worth the price which was really reasonable. We would definitely come back. Just make sure you have a reservation in advance!

We happened to park right across the street from this place. Looked at the menu and decided this was the place. We ordered the Imperial Crab Balls to start. They were perfectly cooked and loaded with real crab, sitting on top of toasted baguette rounds. Then we ordered the Shrimp Salad with Bacon sub. Roll nicely toasted, tons of shrimp, bacon with lettuce and tomato. It was almost like a po' boy, except the shrimp were sautéed not fried. And the garlic truffle potato chips! I would eat a whole bag of those gems. Our server was top notch and the ambience was perfectly funky. We will be back, next time with our whole crew!

The space has a cozy, slightly speakeasy feel, with plenty of seating at the bar and tables for dinner. The music area is separate from the bar and dining area where we sat, which makes the layout feel lively without having the music sit directly on top of your entrée. There is also a related shop next door, The Naked Olive, where you can buy olive oils, balsamics, tapenades, and other dangerous things you convince yourself are "for later." By the time we were leaving early Saturday evening, they were getting ready for live music, which added to the local, come-stay-awhile feel. We started with a classic martini, and it was excellent. Perfectly balanced, cold, briny, slightly sweet, and served with blue cheese olives. A proper martini is not just a drink, it is a small personality test. We also tried the monthly special, the Dirty Devil, which I believe had bourbon, Coke, and salted caramel. It was good, but the classic martini was the clear winner for me. Service was friendly and helpful. I believe our server was James, and he helped us work through the menu without making us feel like we were preparing for a graduate seminar in small plates. They also honored us with a military discount, which I sincerely appreciated. Food wise, we ordered the Truffled Mushroom Pizza, which was genuinely good, with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and mozzarella. My only note is that the truffle was very subtle, maybe attending more in spirit than in full costume, but the pizza itself worked and I enjoyed it. We also had the Chicken Chesapeake, a sous vide chicken breast topped with crab and Chesapeake sauce. It came with a house salad and house vinaigrette, which was standard but good. As chicken breast goes, the entrée was well cooked, tender, and nicely finished. The crab and seasoning gave it some personality, which chicken breast often desperately needs. The mashed potatoes were hearty and solid. The vegetable du jour was the one underwhelming part of the meal; I am still not entirely sure what it was, and I do not think it was sure either. Overall, I enjoyed The Naked Olive Lounge. It may not be in my top three Berkeley Springs restaurants thus far, but it is definitely a solid entry in the local rotation. The ambiance is warm, the layout is comfortable, the service is friendly, the martinis are legitimately excellent, and the food is good, even if a few details could be stronger. The price point was reasonable, and I would happily come back, especially for a classic martini and live music.
