I do love a great Waffle House and this was indeed a strong store. The location is off Highway 40 and nearby a few hotels which feeds them a great amount of business. Parking is of satisfactory size. I encountered a Sunday morning rush, but scored a bar seat with being solo. The staff greeted me upon walking in which was an awesome start. Service was immediate with a smile. The dining room was clean and kitchen pretty good for the crazy amount of business. My All Star breakfast with waffle, sides of bacon, eggs and hash browns came out within 10 minutes. Visually the waffle was a bit messed up, but nothing to complain about. The bacon was cooked off the way I asked and crispy. A great breakfast paired with a coffee. I received a quick check, but unfortunately no follow up on coffee. I would recommend them. read more

(Review for night shift) Walked into this Waffle House and stood near the checkout area for about 5 minutes with no acknowledgment at all. Staff were around, but nobody greeted me or even said "we'll be right with you." I had to speak up just to get someone's attention. What's frustrating is that it hasn't always been like this. The previous staff used to greet customers right away with a smile and made you feel welcome. That's the experience I was expecting, and this felt like a complete drop-off. Even worse, the last time I went there, there were only 2 employees inside and service was on point this time there were 4, and still nobody took ownership of the front. I'm not expecting anything crazy, just basic customer service. A simple acknowledgment goes a long way. Instead, it felt like I was being ignored, and it's hard to feel good about tipping when the service starts like that. I actually came in for a pickup order, and nobody even asked if I was there for a pickup they just acted like I didn't exist. Honestly made me wonder if mystery shoppers even come through here, because this didn't reflect the kind of service that should be standard. I discovered this Waffle House on a lark, while driving home from work at 4 in the morning. I was starving, and had originally intended to go into Jake's Diner. However, I decided to go into this Waffle House instead since I lived in the South and hadn't been to one yet. I wasn't disappointed. The food here was the usual diner fare, only better than normal. I got a platter with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a waffle. It was a solid meal. The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection, and the portions were perfect. I got the pecan waffle and two egg breakfast with toast, hash browns and sausage. Everything was served fast and fresh. The servers were a trip, baby! My experience was great! We were in and out! The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The design of this location allowed us to see all of the cooking which was super cool. Waffle is nostalgic for me. When I'm the south I eat here. This location was not that great. The waffle was good but the waitress was annoying correcting me on how to say pecans so hard that she forgot the peanut butter chips. Then they were not cleaning the tables and such. Went to this waffle house on 3/12/22 in Greensboro NC, Big Tree Rd. and I was impressed with how fast the staff got our order taken and food ready to go with only 3 people working. There was a line and a 30 min wait to order but they worked much more efficiently than a Waffle House i'm at now with a staff of 8 people with about the same amount of people. Great! If you're drunk. Came here with a couple coworkers after a particularly long night of drinking and had what I thought was the best meal of my life. One co-worker, who apparently has done this a lot, advised me to resist all urges to come back another time when sober. He said to just cherish the memory, and if you do want to come again, make sure you have a couple drinks beforehand. In all honesty though, this particular place was clean, well lit, and the food is no-nonsense diner grub at great prices. You really can't complain at getting a mountain of food for $6.49. read more

I love Waffle House. I was on tour and the guy from this Waffle House gave me his Waffle House shirt because he liked my music. I had just asked, "hey, can I buy a cool collared Waffle House shirt like that somewhere?" and he was like "no man, but here just take mine." Super friendly Christmas breakfast crew! Delish food! This is the only place I eat waffles because they are normal-sized & they will make them crispier if you ask them to! We went on Christmas morning as the door was opened for us with a friendly, smiling 'MERRY CHRISTMAS" - a string of Merry Christmas' rang through from every staff member in there & several of the patrons! Everyone was smiling & happy with true Christmas cheer! Our wonderful experience continued throughout our meal as our server was happy & smiling & checked back on us often. Generally I have a semi wonderful experience at the Waffle House on wendover. Typically one or two things are lacking. Either the service is good and the food is messed up or the food is wonderful and the service is messed up. I prefer to order food to go if I'm interested in eating Waffle House. Today me and Ty stopped in for breakfast. When we arrived we saw an empty table that had not been cleaned. So we stood and waited. We saw a girl who looked like she was supposed to clean it and that's not what happened. She half mopped a unswept section of floor and then disappeared into the back. We sat down. About 10 minutes went by before she half cleaned the table and then rushed off again. We sat and waited for someone to wait on us. In the 15min. time we waited for a waiter we played four games of tumb war and looked over the menu several times. When we finally order our food our order was completely mix up. The cooked laughed the whole time and our waiter was exhausted from running back and fourth. When our food was corrected Ty didn't have the syrup he needed to enjoy his waffle. It got cold in the time it took us to finish our other food and finally get syrup. Ty wasn't interested in waiting and was ready to leave. During our time we watched another customer get treated rudely by another waitress. They were waiting for a table. The manager had to come and re-clean the table that the waitress didn't truly clean. It was the worst service I had ever seen on a Sunday morning at the Waffle House. I will go back to ordering food in advance for picked to avoid the horrible mess of a service that they have going on.
