The entire staff was super friendly and I ordered my favorite, the Texas Sausage Melt with hashbrowns, well done, and it was perfect.

I met a friend for lunch and we sat outside which was so nice! No wait at all on a Friday in May,…read morebut it quickly filled in. We both had a hard time choosing what to order. They serve both breakfast and lunch all day. I loved the energy salad, it was filling and light and had great flavor. We also split a donut which I highly recommend!

It's a great trendy location on the edge of Park Circle, conveniently has a small parking lot in addition to street parking and a tiny city lot close by, woman owned, and decorated super warm and inviting. So I really really wanted to like this place. Maybe it was the day I chose to go. I used YELP to reserve a spot on the waitlist, and met a friend for brunch before going into Highwater. Maybe they were unusually slammed. I ordered a Buzzed Donut, coffee rubbed bacon, with an over-easy egg on a pop biscuit doughnut with a side of shredded hashbrowns & mocha dip. Sounds amazing and unique! But the one I was served was burnt, hard, and had obviously been sitting under some heat too long and was past the point of being served. I politely brought it to my server's attention both dark coloring, hard texture, and burnt taste were affected, and while she did inquire, the answer was that it was the last one so a re-order was not an option. I was not trying to make a stink to my server or make my friend late to the festival, and they couldn't rush a new item, so I ate around the hard/burnt part politely. When the bill came, the server informed me she took 15 percent off that item. Everyone has off days, and I really wanted to like this place but the more I think about it the crazier it is to think I paid 85 percent of a meal that shouldn't have been served. When I worked in food service, I would have never served an item in this condition. I would have simply apologized that I didn't realize the kitchen was out, taken the item off the bill, and brought a replacement item or dessert at no charge. I had excitedly announced it was my first time trying this place when the server first introduced herself, and I'm just disappointed it wasn't 100 percent wonderful.

Our server Sonya was super friendly and quick. Good came out fast too which was appreciated! My Denver omelette was massive and tasted great and the potatoes had a nice garlic and onion taste. My daughter loved her chicken and waffles and my son actually ate most of his breakfast sandwich before his fries! Both of their plates were huge too. Fast food, friendly service, a low price, and big portions? Great breakfast place! J.Ja

We stopped by after picking up my car at the VPC up the road. We went in around 945a with a handful of customers inside. There were 3 waitresses and all were occupied. It took a min for us to get sat down but we were acknowledged and told they'll be right with us. Took a min to receive our food but they all were busy. The food was pretty good. Just wanted hot sauce. We ate our meal cuz the waitress forgot (we were up and on the road by 530am so we were starving), we just asked for the bill lol lovely place, we were just super hungry so we didn't bother bothering them because they had their hands full. All of the staff is super friendly tho!

After working on a house painting project, we needed a break to enjoy a simple meal as we were. Upon entering there's a sign that reads wait to be seated. They offer pick-up and to-go orders so there's an organized setup. The menu is extensive - there's loads of options with breakfast lunch and dinner. Ruby was super kind, attentive, and offered good selections with the menu. My go-to at diners is either a tuna or beef patty melt so enjoyed my beefy patty melt..it had a good bit of onions and mayo. For my side I swapped the fries out for the salad. Best tip would be to go with their house made ranch dressing..it's delicious! I had the thousand island which isn't bad but upon trying the ranch wanted to drink it from how creamy and buttermilk-like it was haha my fiancé got the Philly cheesesteak and the meat and green peppers was dynamite! So good! The side fries weren't salty so appreciated that. Overall loved the comforting energy of the restaurant with an accepting atmosphere to come as you are and with an empty stomach looking to get nourished. I'll be back to try the pie!
