One great thing about diners is that they have something for everyone. One person can have a 3 egg breakfast while the other has chicken pot pie. Metro has proven to be the perfect spot while we're all out together and especially when dining with my toddler niece. I think it might even have been the first restaurant she ever ate at. The staff has always been very accommodating of having a one year old at the table too. While I love a good breakfast for dinner option, I recently discovered the ribs and chicken combo where you get a half rack of ribs, some giant chicken tenders and a couple of sides. Solid 4 star diner. After having breakfast here twice, the service is always great and the food is solid. This last visit we had a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed their meals. Everything was timely, and hot. This was my second time getting a dish with their hollandaise sauce. It's not my favorite, so I'll probably not get it again. It has an aftertaste I can't pin point. Service was good and fast, food wasn't great. Coffee tasted like cheap Kuerig, or maybe it was REALLY old. Breakfast burger was so incredibly thick it was nearly impossible for my kid to eat and the bun was greasy, there was so much grease on this. My son and I went for lunch. I got the eggs Benedict as I had never had it before and he got a grilled chicken sandwich. I wasn't a huge fan of the eggs. I had just started going Gluten Free so there were not many options but I have since learned how to substitute easier. I did eat Gluten on this day. I wasn't a fan of the creamy sauce. The hash-browns were amazing. Now, the sauce may be great as this was my first taste of Eggs Benedict so I don't have anything to compare it to. It just wasn't for me. What a cute breakfast spot. We had a large group on a busy Saturday morning but thankfully we were seated quickly since we opted to sit outside. With the sun shining and the heat lamps it was a perfect setting. Our waitress was great. Super friendly and personable. Everyone was super sweet and their customer service was truly top tier. I ordered the chicken biscuit and mac & cheese as my side. I know, it's not a typical mashup but I had a craving. The biscuit was delicious. My husband and I tried Metro Diner today for an early diner. This is located in West Ashley in the shopping center with Ulta and Homegoods. This is a small diner with a super fun vibe. They had great music playing and everyone was upbeat. They serve breakfast specials all day. They also have sandwiches and entrees like meatloaf and spare ribs. I decided to have breakfast. I had the Avocado and bacon scrambled. This was scrambled eggs over hashbrowns with avocado, bacon and topped with delicious hollandaise sauce. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The service was fast and friendly. I liked that they checked us out right at the table. This is a fun place with delicious food. Cute and quaint diner/local vibe. I've been looking for a neighborhood diner and I found it. Usually I start off with complimenting the food, but I have to give it to the wait staff, this place has phenomenal service. Every single person we spoke to was a so friendly and helpful, they checked in on us. Fast service and amazing staff. Brian is the best server around. The establishment gives off the normal diner atmosphere with tables off to the side and a bar right next to the open kitchen. Paired with lousy dressing and almost mashed potatoes with brown gravy , not turkey or even chicken gravy. Please skip these items. My meal was a great disappointment and ruined the occasion. One fish order had bones. What type of fish are they using? Poorly filleted. Dorothy the server did a good job and I hoped she wasn't rattled too much. I asked for the manager and she was great. Actually quite surprised by how much I enjoyed dinner here. I met friends and was thinking everything would be fried and greasy. Even though a lot of menu items were deep fried, I was happy to find a few options that were not. I ordered the meatloaf and was very happy with the rich Smokey flavor. The mashed potatoes seem to be actual potatoes and not boxed as well! For the price, you get a good amount and I ended up with a to-go box for a meal the next day. Typical diner feel inside with tables and booths. Food did take about 30 minutes, which seemed long for a party of five in a basically empty restaurant. The Philly cheese steak was good, but a little lite on substance. Onion rings were really good. Others in our group didn't care much for the hash browns or biscuits; they left a lot of food on their plates. Others said the salmon and fried chicken were pretty dry. Overall an okay dining experience, decent food but not great, friendly but slow service, and perhaps a little pricy for the quality of food. Eaten here for breakfast several times, always treated well and served up good eats. They always manage to keep my coffee refreshed, and describe the fault specials without annoyance. The dining area is comfortable and clean, booths and chairs are in good shape. You can expect a wait on weekend mornings, they do a good crowd. I don't normally do franchise restaurants here in Charleston, but we went tonight because my mom and dad invited myself and my husband for dinner. Well this place was delicious!!! We had the shrimp and grits, BLT, and the lemon blueberry waffle. All of it was so flavorful and delicious. The service was top notch. Our waitress was wonderful wish I had caught her name.
