First, we ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice donuts. They sounded great. Unfortunately, the donuts apparently needed to be personally escorted from the pumpkin patch because they didn't arrive until we were asking for the check. At that point, we told our waitress to take them off the bill because we were ready to leave. Instead, she brought out the donuts with the check...and left them on the check. I'm not expecting free donuts. If they had shown up on time, I would have happily paid for them. But once we specifically asked for them to be canceled, I'm not sure how "bring them anyway and charge us" became the winning strategy. The restaurant was also absolutely freezing. We're in South Carolina. It's September. Everyone is wearing shorts. Apparently First Watch has chosen to operate at "January in Minnesota" temperatures. And because freezing wasn't quite enough, the restaurant has the trendy open-ceiling design that seems specifically engineered to make every sound travel directly into your skull. The loud, constant drone of the AC was amplified by the lack of anything soft enough to absorb sound. Between that and the general restaurant noise, breakfast felt a little like eating inside an airplane hangar. My Chickichanga itself was good, and the potatoes were nicely crispy, although the potatoes were aggressively salty. The bigger issue was the Vera Cruz sauce. I expected the traditional tomato-based flavor, but this was much more of a lime-forward sauce. If I had known, I would have gotten it on the side. It wasn't terrible, just not what I expected from the description. Overall, the food was mostly decent, but the combination of freezing temperatures, industrial-level acoustics, inattentive service, and the bizarre "you asked us to cancel these, so naturally we're going to bring them late and charge you anyway" donut situation made for a pretty disappointing experience. Two stars. The potatoes fought bravely. read more

When this location opened the customer service was top notch. The staff was very courteous and attentive, unfortunately this has changed recently. On a recent visit we stood at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes while multiple staff members walked past us without acknowledging us, or simply saying someone will be with you in a moment. I had to seek someone out to get assistance with being seated. The restaurant was not super busy but the staff seemed indifferent to our presence. Once seated I noticed there was trash or food under the table that was very noticeable. I had to ask someone to clean the area. The customer service of many staff members and cleanliness has decreased quite a bit based on my most recent visits. Hopefully management will address these issues as this was one of my favorite breakfast spots. read more

Service was slow because apparently they can't handle the volume, maybe the kitchen is small or they don't have enough personnel It looks new, clean and inviting and better than other First Watch we have been to and maybe they are still working out the kinks I ordered the Farmhouse with scrambled eggs and if I go back I most likely order the same thing, I enjoyed and will go back there aren't very many places around that can make a wow breakfast like the one I recently visited in Destin but have to get what is available locally read more

Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented--and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The Blueberry Lemon Cornbread was a standout right away: warm, moist, and perfectly balanced between sweet and citrusy. The Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast was decadent in the best way--soft, rich, and topped with fresh strawberries and just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely a must-order if you love indulgent brunch dishes. On the savory side, the Skillet Potatoes were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great complement to everything on the table. The Steak and Feta Hash was hearty and packed with flavor--tender steak, perfectly cooked potatoes, fluffy eggs, and that salty feta bringing it all together. This place is always busy. I recommend getting in line on the website to avoid a long wait. The employees are super friendly. I got the traditional breakfast and a cold brew coffee and my husband got the Barbacoa chilaquiles breakfast bowl. We really enjoyed our brunch. No complaints about the newest location of First Watch! We put our name on the waitlist via the app & waited under five minutes once arriving. The servers were attentive but not overly intrusive & the food was as delicious as I remember from other locations. I loved seeing someone clean crumbs off the chairs & sweep the floor when a table finished. It's attention to detail & cleanliness such as this that will keep me coming back. The staff is obviously all very new to the establishment and you can tell as a customer but the experience was good! Convenient location, good food quality and reasonable prices. We walked in to three hostesses opening the doors for us and then another three behind the stand and all six just stared at us without saying anything. Someone finally asked how many and then about three of them walked away in separate directions without acknowledging us. They did come back and get us to tell them to follow them to a table. Server was kind but honestly kept standing way too close to the table and was leaning over me and my food and my child which I did not appreciate. She was also not very familiar with the menu and couldn't really answer my questions. Will probably return knowing the team will get the hang of things eventually read more

The First Watch at Carnes Crossroads is, in my estimation, about one-third larger than the one on Main Street. And that's good, because these places fill up each day. I had the farmhouse hash, which was superb. The service was also superb; we were greeted warmly at the front door and nicely served throughout our meal. The decor of this First Watch looks great and feels comfortable. I highly recommend visiting! read more

I've been to this location three times since they opened. The service each time was very good, no issues with the wait staff whatsoever, they are all hard working good employees... My issues with this place are as follows: 1. Two of the three times I went there the place was as cold as a walk-in freezer. The first time it was "we're having A/C issues", the second time who knows. For the life of me I can not figure out what the deal is with these local restaurants making it so cold inside. It was 85 degrees the second time I went there and the temp in the restaurant was no more than 55 degrees which is simply ridiculous. A thirty degree differential is not even remotely close to what should be happening as far as the inside temp is concerned. The temp inside should be set to 70 degrees and no lower when it is 80 degrees and above outside. We overheard other customers complaining about how cold this place was as well, so it was not just me... 2. The portion size for the price you pay is out of whack. $15 for an omelette with a side salad and ONE single slice of toast (cut in half to give the appearance of getting "more", is simply not a good value. The omelettes are small and probably weigh less than 8 ounces... 3. Beverages: Off the rails of the crazy train (Thanks Ozzy). $3.99 for a cup of java and $3.99 for a soda (both with free refills). Overall, the food is good here, portions are kid size, beverages are way too expensive, service is good, restaurant is like visiting Antarctica... The only way I will go back is if I have a coupon and even then I would hesitate... read more

Ok, this is to inform all. I'm not looking for a reply by mgt. Went today for the first time and they have some problems. First there is no sidewalk to walk to the left when coming out. I guess they want you to park on one side and never thought about the big lot in-front of Publix, just be careful. The three of us were upset with the noise level, although it could have been louder, it was tolerable. Our sever was fantastic, Clement! Once we put our order in, We sat and talked and became concerned about how long it was taking. We talked to Clement and he agreed that the kitchen is too small for the number of tables they support. We waited over 40 minutes, really probably 45 minutes for our food to come out. Food was excellent for all of us. Clement had the manager come over and she apologized and appeased us with a gift card. The time of day was 12:25 when we ordered. I'm just telling it like it was for you future patrons. Food was light and not greasy like you would expect from a diner. The Lemon zest dressing on the salad was delicious and refreshing, my only suggestion for the Eggs Benedict would be to replace the 2nd salad with something like a beat and carrot slaw. The lettuce was overwhelming although really delicious with the lemon zest dressing. We sat at the bar since there was a wait for a table (no surprise there! The food and service are worth the wait!). Our bartender was polite and patient with us while we absorbed the large menu and explained how the items were prepared. He knew his stuff!
