After many recommendations we decided to stop here for breakfast while in Summerville. Service was absolutely immaculate. The staff was very friendly. The establishment was extremely clean and they sat and served us very quickly. I got coffee from the coffee bar and it is absolutely divine and roasted in house. My partner was getting a little sniff so she got they bring you out this amazing assortment of tea to kick from which was quite cute. I got the grits, bacon eggs, and toast wasn't a real big fan of the grits but the bacon eggs and toast were fabulous. My partner got seafood platter and it was absolutely fine. Some of the best shrimp I've had in quite a while. But the star of this show was definitely their housemate waffles, when I say they were light buttery crispy on the outside soft and fluffy in the inside perfection! And that goes to Say I will be back most definitely!

The overall aesthetics are okay, a bit dated. It is a stand alone building, meaning not in a stip mall, with its own parking lot. The place is clean and popp'n with people. Our server "Joe" was excellent and all the staff were friendly. The food: Presentation looked good. I had the Howie (eggs, protein, grits or potatoes, toast or French toast) w/potatoes, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs and french toast. The eggs were fluffy with good flavor. The bacon was perfect as was rhe french toast. The potatoes on the other hand, needed a bit of improvem. They were undercooked, cold and not flavorful. After a couple of attempts to eat them, I decided to leave them behind. They have a self serve coffee bar with a good variety of coffees. They was unique and appreciated. My son had the chocolate chip waffle which he said was good. I'm sure other things were good. The place was busy so I'm sure it has its regulars. If we are ever back in the area, maybe we'll come back and try something else. It's only rated a 4 because of the potato situation.

I had wanted to try this place for a long time. Finally met my friends for brunch. Our server was great. We had a large party. Everyone wanted separate checks. He was very sweet and constantly checked back to make sure all was great. Inside bit rundown and dreary but clean. I ordered an omelette. Not what I was expecting. Flavor was great but it was flat...sort of looked like a tostada. The herb toast was fantastic. I could have eaten an entire loaf. They have daily specials. Friend got triple berry french toast. I took a bite and it was delicious. Next time I'll have to get that.

The food here is fantastic and genuinely Southern with some South Carolina specialties like various specials of Shrimp n Grits! The local stone ground grits, local shrimp and other locally sourced ingredients make for a great meal every time. Service here is friendly and you get seated fairly quickly.

Came here for brunch while visiting a friend for the weekend. The parking lot was pretty full when we arrived so i was expecting a wait however they were able to sit us in about 5 minutes of us being there. We ordered a pitcher of mango mimosas that was a great deal at $13. On the recommendation of my friend i ordered the 3 meat shrimp and grits wit biscuit instead of toast and it did not disappoint. The grits were wonderful smooth and creamy the sauce was perfect. my friends were disappointed that they never got their water refilled but Overall the service was decent. The only downside is that they were out of several different items that were listed on the menu.

Haven't been here in a while, but always a pleasure. Sunrise is just off Jamison Rd in Summerville. It's a smaller restaurant compared to the others but sizeable enough to accommodate a large party. They also have a bar you can sit at too. I ordered their open face salmon omelet with a side of French toast and it was great. Definitely a larger portion than I expected. The coffee was self serve, so I had to get up to make it. Gotta admit I wasn't truly a fan of that, having to leave the table. I would prefer just a pitcher being brought to my table. The plus side is that they do offer a variety of coffee blends though. Overall great place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

This time we climbed to the second floor to find a table at what I would describe as the most inviting bar in the South due to the eclectic decor and the appearance of the bar itself with dozens of upside down bottles hanging from the ceiling that at first I thought they were there just to decorate the place but nooo! they actually poured the specialty bourbon we ordered which BTW was very good and was only 90 proof which was a very nice match to my Yingling, we spent about two hours there and not because the service was slow but because we were having a good time, at times was a little loud but my out of town friends truly enjoyed the kind of place, they said that next time they come to town they would like to come back to the very same table. The conversation and good times is what kept me from taking a picture of the dishes I ordered the Cajun Pasta, was absolutely delicious and will order again the next time I go back, wife ordered the Pecan pork chops and said it was made with her cravings in mind I won't be waiting for out of towners to come in order to go back, this has become my most trusted and preferred Southern restaurant in Chucktown/Summerville area, no questions and way better than any distant second best that we have been, make it 8 stars! Our server was Cameron and she is a charming young lady that makes every effort to comply with your most demanding requests same as previously served in the lower level by another extraordinary server by the name of Sophie, their smiles compliment the flavors and drinks

The facility was clean and well stocked. The quality of food is not worth the crowding or wait time that so many are subjected. As a single person party, I chose to find a seat at the bar. It was not overly large and was monitored by 2 servers. I was fairly quickly addressed to get my drink and I ordered a starter without prompting due to the number of patrons. Another sat beside me but she was overlooked for quite a bit of time, finally having to ask for a menu. Once my starter arrived, the okra basket, I was ignored. The okra was ok but nothing special, standard premade restaurant supply brand of thickish breading that was intermittently soft or crunchy. I was 1/4 way through the basket before I had a chance to request cutlery and seeing that the servers had started to focus only on the person next to me that they had initially overlooked, I also requested my entree. I had reviewed the menu prior to arrival and decided on my order in advanced. Unfortunately it was not available on the brunch menu and lunch was not an available option. I should have asked for the check at that time but selected an omelette instead. While waiting and consuming my starter, I requested a menu draft to be told it was unavailable too. The suggested alternative was decent. My entree arrived about 20 minutes later. It was dry, both the eggs and protein. I was able to request and receive a sauce in a short period of time. My refill did not need to be requested but it was incorrect so I did have to ask for another. I know the staff is most likely good, the popularity produced by the Travel Channel keeps them too busy and complacency is prevalent. I had hoped that the publicity did not change the uniqueness of the menu but I will trust my intuition in the future and continue to avoid these types of restaurants.

I have difficulty with steps but there were enough railings to make it navigable for me. The building was likely to have at one time been a small house. There were six of us in our party and we were initially told we would be sharing one bill and the gratuity would be automatically added. A couple of our folks expressed concern and intentionally ordered cheaper items and no drinks to make sure they had adequate funds to split the bill. Fortunately our waitress, who was a joy, did individual bills and did not put on an automatic gratuity. The policy had the potential to seriously reduce the restaurant's income. They should probably rethink this stance. As noted, our waitress was terrific and rapidly got drink and food orders sorted. The menu is pretty short, but probably a good choice for a small pub type restaurant. My wife and I both selected an on-tap local brew, both of which were good and reasonably priced. We both also selected the fish and chips. The order came with a side of cole slaw that was pleasant. The chips were obviously made on site and both properly cooked and well seasoned. We are always surprised at restaurants that serve obviously bagged and frozen fries. The fish itself was reasonably sized and nicely fried. Quite tasty, but we sort of expected good seafood as this is a sister restaurant to a local seafood establishment. For the price the portion sizes of all the meals at the table seemed just a bit small. So we will quite likely return. It's not fancy. It's not high end dining. It's a tad pricey for pub food, but overall pretty good. I note here that had our waitress not been a gem or had they enforced the one check policy, this review would have been a good deal more negative. I suspect they have an accessible entrance but it was not obvious. That may be a consideration for some and checking ahead of time would be prudent.

My sandwich was good, not a great Reuben but a good sandwich. They definitely needed to get more of the water out of the kraut before putting it on the sandwich, and it wasn't really real rye bread. But I liked it. The Brussels and burnt ends were fine but needed a lot more meat, especially for a $4 up charge over fries (and I think they were $9 menu price which is insane for a side). My kid liked his burger and fries and it honestly looked good. Service was fine, or complaints or anything amazing there. I'm usually not a fan of gussied up burgers and fries but this spot was decent and should be a four star place, but the prices were simply not OK. I could have had a whole steak from Outback for the price of a burger here. I've had much better Reubens in big cities like Chicago, NYC, and Montreal that were bigger and with better sides for less money. If I am paying $22 for a sandwich and side it needs to absolutely change my reality and I that just didn't happen here. Prices need to drop here by 25% or more to be fair. J.Ja
