I will say this is one of the more efficient WH locations. I will also say there are always double the staff that are in the normal WH. They all seem to be really nice. It's an eclectic bunch of folks working here, that is for sure. Lots of personality. Lots of loveliness. Food is fair. Seems hurried and a bit sloppy compared to others. Things half cooked, tossed together, just no care for what they are doing sometimes. I have had some good meals here so not to complain a bit. Just an observation. It's cleaner than other Waffle Junts. Same old insides though. The seating layout has a bunch of bar seats that I can pull up solo at when I need to. I love the damn Waffle House though! I'm from the west coast and we don't have a Waffle House unfortunately. I had the steak bowel and a pecan waffle. The steak bowel was so tasty but the waffle lack flavor. The staff was friendly, the ambience was warm and inviting. Felt like I was at a family gathering. I did get my food to go.. only complaint was the waffle had no flavor and too doughy. Happy New Year! It was after midnight when we came. We quickly got to table for 2, got menu's and waters pretty fast. It was crowded but not overly noisy and the employees worked quickly and efficiently. It didnt take long to receive our food, both orders were prepared as asked and were perfect. It was scrumptious. I had physical therapy this morning. Decided to stop by n treat myself and glad I did. I know it's not the normal staffing cause it's training day, but everyone is doing a helluva job. Ironically enough, for a restaurant called the Waffle House, I have never tried their waffles. I just prefer Savory over sweets. My favorite part of this restaurant is their hash browns, which offer a slew of toppings such as chili, cheese, ham, etc. I usually opt for one of their eggs breakfast or patty melt. You can't go wrong with either. There is nothing fancy about Waffle House oh, it is the stereotypical greasy spoon. But there are times in your life that you crave a greasy spoon diner and this will do quite nicely to satisfy that craving. read more

I went to eat with my sister, it was 10pm, we had a server by the name of Vel, a girl with braids and face tattoos. She didn't bring us any refills. I made eye contact with her and she still ignored us like we weren't there. I had to wave her down eventually because she forgot half my order. I watched her clean the tables around us and even chatting with the cooks and other employees. I didn't even finish my meal because I had nothing to drink and as my sister walked up to pay, another lady paid us out, and she asked our server "Hey girl what does this say?" Vel proceeds to argue with her "I'm not a girl I'm a grown ass women. I'm 31. Don't call me a girl" Umm what?? So unprofessional. My sister then asked the lady who paid us out "Can I have a drink to go and a togo box" and she yells at our server "Your table needs something" and that's the only way we got acknowledged. This morning while eating breakfast, at The Waffle House on Wolf River Boulevard (across from the Chick Fil A) with my parents, we sat at the bar breakfast area. I have NEVER, seen a restraunt this disgusting in Germantown. No one had Masks on while preparing food, also there were paper towels, napkins, etc. just spread all over the floors (as seen in the pictures). Water, was also all over the place. The Trash ( as seen in the other picture) looked as though it had not been picked up for days. As you can see egg shells on the concrete hanging out of the trash bags. This is a HUGE liability for the employees and their customers. I believe The Health Department needs to get ahold of this place, and SHUT THEM DOWN!!!!!! Kindness is alive and well at the Waffle house in 1249 S. German town Pky.! I'm an old woman with some mobility issues since I drag a large oxygen tank everywhere I go; that means I am hindered but not totally disable. Yesterday afternoon around 2:30 I was headed home from an appointment when I decided as a treat to go to the Waffle House. Circumstances have made it years since I had a Waffle House omelet. Dragging my tank, I slowly made it to the door to find a young man holding it open for me to enter. He than open the second door, as he graciously welcomed me to the Waffle House. After I was seated, I discovered the young man was the cook. When he saw me coming to the door he immediately came to mt assistance. KINDNESS IN ACTION!!! It took 10 mins to get butter for my grits and another 20 minutes to get my waffle. The first waffle wasn't even cooked all the way through and it wasn't right. It was not even that busy for them to be this slow. I only stopped here heading to the airport and had to leave so I wouldn't miss my flight. My food got cold waiting on a waffle. Having never been to a Waffle House, I had few expectations except greasy spoon diner food. The place is neither classy or trendy but just solid comfort food. Hubs had just a waffle but I went all in on the bacon egg and cheese melt; a delicious breakfast sandwich on Texas toast. It's served with super crispy hash browns. With the exception of one waitress, the entire cook and wait staff was a joke. Came here on a business trip with a co-worker a year and a half ago, and was pleasantly surprised. He had lived in Texas for a few years quite awhile back, and apparently had a soft spot for Waffle House. We stayed at a hotel that had free breakfast, but decided to venture out, because you can only eat the free breakfast so long at a hotel before you get bored. This was my first experience with the place (barring the horror stories you hear about this place and its populace), and I came away with a bit of a soft spot for it, too. I got the All-Star Special, and subbed out Covered Hash Browns for the grits. All in all, I was amazed at the speed that they pump the food out. They're not playing around at this place. And, as for quality, it was also really good. Definitely not the best breakfast I'd ever had in my life, but easily as good (if not better) than your typical 'good' Denny's. Special shout-out for actually understanding how to cook hash browns; normally, they're crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. These were properly cooked through and through. While I didn't end up returning when I was on my 2nd trip to Memphis a few months ago, I would definitely go back, or would try another one if it was nearby. read more

I live in midtown and drove all the way out here to eat at 3am (I have insomnia and my friend works night shift) because this was the only Waffle House I still trusted to provide quality food and service. I arrive and the only unoccupied tables needed to be cleaned (piled high with dirty dishes). The shift lead/manager made eye contact with me and my friend several times and muttered something under his breath about the tables and nobody did anything. We waited awkwardly a bit longer but we were not acknowledged at all beyond the eye contact so we decide to leave and see three employees in the parking lot in a car laughing at us. The service is definitely the highlight. Plenty of refills, no rush, and lots of "sweethearts." All it took was a few times coming in at off-houses and the staff started to recognize me. Very hospitable every time I've stopped by and they look like they get along well with each other too. Unfortunately, there are some issues. The floor seems to be perpetually in a state of stickiness and the bathrooms could probably use a bit more frequent cleaning. The locks on the bathroom door don't seem to work that well (or the customers using them don't seem to bother with using them!). Overall though, you know what you're getting with a WaHo and most of the time it's the right price and an excessive amount of grease. It's also one of the few 24-hour places in this part of Memphis, so it tends to get crowded in the evening with the returning bar crowd. Tip: avoid breakfast on the weekends and instead hit this place on the weekdays if you want to get more individual attention. read more

This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I came in the store, sat down at the bar where there were three servers standing in a conversation while one person was cooking. I sat there for 2 to 3 minutes waiting to be acknowledged prior to having to just get up and leave. Apparently, their conversation was more important than serving their customers.
