It was kind of busy, but steady. We found a table and sat down the table was pretty clean. There was still syrup and stuff on the table, but it wasn't awful. When the waitress came up, She was pretty sweet at first. The first thing that got to me, but it wasn't that big of a deal was that she put the napkin partially on the spilt syrup with our silverware on it, but I just wiped it down and put a new napkin down for the silverware. We had just sat down probably a minute before she came up, and as soon as she came up, she wanted to know not only what we were wanting to drink, but also what we were wanting to eat as we were grabbing the menus to look. When we got the food there was a few things that were incorrect. The eggs were not cooked how we had asked which was one of the biggest issues. My fiancé's scrambled eggs were not fully cooked when we asked to make sure it was cooked well done my eggs were sunny side up, and my eggs were not fully cooked either and very gooey and slimy. I decided I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it and just eat everything else. At some point a couple came in and sat down at a table right by ours and our waitress was very rude to them. In the rudest way possible she told them to get up because the table was nasty and she needed to wipe it off. I've worked as a waitress before and even was a manager in a restaurant so I know there is plenty of other ways she could have said this. One of the things that I noticed was how she responded and reacted with different customers depending on their race. She was not very kind to anybody of color the couple near us that she waited on were hispanic. My fiancé is mixed with hispanic and african american and I'm white, so I don't stand whatsoever for people treating others differently, just because of the color of their skin and where they're from. We're all human and all deserve kindness and respect no matter where we go. So seeing this really pissed me off because I also noticed how the waitress spoke differently with me vs. my fiancé. After a while, I asked our waitress if we could get some to-go boxes for our food When she brought it over, we started boxing up our food, and she walked away to go help another customer, when I went to put my untouched and uneaten waffle in its container I noticed there was a hair on the plate underneath it. I made sure it was a hair by using a utensil to move it to make sure it wasn't a crack or scratch. I waited for our waitress to finish what she was doing so I didn't bother her in the middle of anything and when she came over, I showed her and told her about the hair. She said that the hair was not there when she put the waffle on the plate and that she had no idea how it got there. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture to show, but this hair was very long and a dark brown, My fiancé's hair is short with bluish green while my hair is medium length with purpleish and pink, so there was no way that this hair came from either one of us. But she proceeded to say that it clearly wasn't hers either since she had long blonde hair, which means that the hair had to been on the plate before she put the waffle on it. I wasn't wanting a refund or money taken off of my bill I just simply wanted a remake. She finally agreed to get it remade for us and even put it on to go container. Before she walked off again, I did stop her and apologize for not asking sooner, but if she could get me some butter and some syrup to go. I wasn't able to get the whole sentence out before she walked away and seen a glance of her rolling her eyes. As I continue to sit there for a little bit I noticed as she was taking the order of the table near us with the two people she was very rude to them and said very little to them unlike how she did when taking my order. I know people can have good days and bad days and everyone has things going on in their life. I don't know if she had just started her shift or if it was in the middle or maybe even the end of her shift, but no matter what's going on in your life you should never let it affect your work and how you treat others. And with everything that's been going on in today's world if you judge somebody or treat them differently because of the color of their skin you shouldn't be in customer service or in a job where you have to meet and deal with different customers. It is so sad to see the world that we live in and how poorly people treat others just because of the color of their skin or where they're from because that's not something we can control. We're all human we all bleed red, live on the same planet, shop the same places, drive the same roads, and etc we shouldn't see color when we look at somebody we should see a person. So I hope for whoever is out there no matter your race we can all stand together, defend, and stand up for each other because that's what I really wish I would've done for those two people because they didn't deserve that. No one deserves that. read more
