Stopping by from Nashville to Memphis. Food was really good and it felt really homey in here. Best Waffle House I've been to.

Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill delivered with a nice side of nostalgia. We started with an appetizer of Cheese Sticks. We then followed that up with some burgers. I got the Livingston's Burger, which was delicious, while my brother got the Ole Tyme Burger. And as if the burgers weren't enough, these burgers were served with a mountain of delicious fresh-cut fries. But the best part of our meal was at the end, when we were convinced to get two milkshakes, one for each of us. And I'm glad we did, as these were the most delicious milkshakes we had in quite a while, and I was sipping on mine all the way back to our hotel. In short, if you find yourselves traveling through Brownsville and have the time for a proper meal, I strongly recommend you take the detour away from the Interstate to stop at Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill, and don't forget dessert, because it is the best part here. And if we find ourselves traveling through Brownsville around lunch or dinner time again, we will definitely come back to Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill again.

The food was great and very good milkshakes. My turkey wrap had just the right amount of turkey, bacon, and AL white bbq sauce. My friend's Mindfield wrap was great- highly recommend!

Quality/Quantity - I would classify this as a "hole in a wall" business, but in a good way…read more My daughter got a little too aggressive with the ordering... Two appetizers: Appetizer Sampler - My daughter ate almost all of this. It was all deep fried. If I was not health conscious (LOL not on this trip), I would have helped her more. Aloo Paratha - My order, but sorry, it was not to my liking. Not sure what I was expecting...?I did like the cilantro yogurt which complimented the bread well. I did not taste or see any "stuffed" potatoes in the bread...? Mango Bonfire - The hit with the family. But it was the second best for me. Huge portions, made well. Toasted well. Good flavors. I was impressed that my wife and daughter were able to eat even half of the sandwich! I only took a very small bite, just for this review. The 65 Pizza - My choice and my favorite. The second favorite for my family. And if you read my other review, this made a great snack after Saturday's Beale Street trip. Korean Chicken Bibimbap - If you have experience with this cuisine, like we do, you can skip this. If you have no experience, you will like it. Probably due to the fusion, it is more "Americanized" than what my wife would have preferred. My daughter then still wanted cheesecake? Huh? How is that possible, we took like whole pizza to go? Good thing it was not a flavor that she liked. Atmosphere - Small local "hole in the wall" place. Small private parking. Wifi available. Inexpensive beers, beers on tap; see pictures. Open 5 days a week...? From 11am to 8pm, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Yelp's and their website's hours differ, so call if needed. Service - 5 stars. Both the daughter and mom were working today. So friendly and welcoming. The best part was that they knew all the other customers who dined/bought take-out while we ate. What a great community business. Price - $70 + generous tip. 10% off for college students, thank you. Actually inexpensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018.

I have a running…read morebookmark collection of places in Memphis to try since I'm in the area a good bit to see family and this spot has been on it for a while. I wasn't disappointed! Can't say I really knew what to expect from scoping out the spot online. I was picturing a sort of indie/hipster/fusion vibe from the menu, but the inside was sort of like a college sports bar with almost some tiki inspiration along the bar. There's a lot going on here! Lol. It seemed clean and our waitress was prompt and polite if a little soft-spoken. There's adequate parking out in the back. The menu is large and has offerings ranging from deli sandwiches (with international flair -- mostly Indian and Korean inspired), pizzas, and bibimbap bowls (also with some not-just-traditionally-Korean-flair). My brother and sister-in-law were with me and my husband. They're not quite as adventurous eaters as we are, but they fared fine here. We split an order of mozzarella sticks to start. They came out mouth-burning hot, crispy-crunchy, and ooey-gooey. Good! 5 or 6 in an order, iirc. BIL got a muffuletta and SIL got some wings. The muffuletta was massive. Lots of places get them wrong but Sam's Deli had the right bread and crafted a great olive-y, meat-y masterpiece. BIL was happy. SIL got her wings tossed in bbq sauce, I think. The color and flavor of the sauce wasn't traditional bbq sauce, so I was worried at first, but she actually quite liked it, too. They were huge wings and kept their crunchiness even in the face of sauce and ranch. My husband was, sadly, the only person who was unhappy. He got bibimbap (as did I), but I chose to get mine with tikka chicken and he picked Korean chicken. He didn't like the sauce/flavor of the Korean chicken and said it was too sweet. On the other hand, I quite enjoyed my chicken tikka bibimbap. Never had tikka in a bibimbap before, but it worked! The veggies were crispy and fresh, the egg was cooked properly, and my goodness it was a ton to eat. Only thing I was missing was some sort of gochujang or hot sauce to drizzle on top / mix throughout. Overall, except my husband, we felt pretty positively about this restaurant. I would return in the future to try other innovative dishes!
