We came in from out of state and were super excited to eat at this establishment because of their reputation. We sat down, ordered our drinks and eventually our food. Our waiter took her time getting our drinks to us, and asked for our drink order again when we were ordering our food. Rachel and Matthew were absolutely amazing. The customer service was top notch and the food came out as fast as always. I haven't had a bad experience going to this Waffle House and the staff are amazing. They keep the place light and full of laughter. Matthew is the manager in training and he was right in there with everyone else doing his part. We didn't even know that until we were leaving and trying to tip him for his service as well. The lady with black hair and glasses that was working the night of 3/10 (into 3/11) did amazing despite having to work all by herself and there were more than 10 people in there ready to eat, I don't know how she held it all down so well. Our food came out cold, toast was limp, and our server looked like she was treading in molasses. Couldn't keep our order straight. All of our food came out at different times. They make some lame excuse they don't have staff in there early taking orders to go. I finally accomplished my lifelong Americana goal of visiting a Waffle House. Went late one night during a blackout, and Tiffany was really nice about charging my phone behind the counter while we ate. This location is small and has a diner feel to it. We got the sausage and eggs hash brown bowl and a hot black tea. The food is good, especially the hash browns that they are oh-so-famous for, but so heavy and oily. I usually like Waffle House when visiting in the South. This Waffle House actually did well on my omelette and pecan waffle as far as presentation and flavor goes, but the service here is pretty bad. Might I add, at 3am, the noise level was also on par with a bar. The servers were playing grab ass with one another and with customers, whom I presume were their friends. The server was also more interested in his female customer/friends than he was in myself or other customers. This Waffle House was by far the worst Waffle House I've ever had the displeasure of eating at. The staff were rude, unfriendly, and seemed untrained. One cook, a nice older gentleman was the only person even trying to make us have a good time but he couldn't save the ship from drowning. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to come, over 40 minutes for our food to come and it was cold and made wrong when we did get it. This Waffle House met all our expectations and fantasies for pecan waffles (we live in Michigan and don't have Waffle Houses there). The service was good and our food came out quickly. Waffle House in Jackson, TN is gross. I do not recommend setting foot inside it. For the record, my Waffle House standards are incredibly low. First they served us sour tea. After I informed our server that the tea was sour she said "well what else do you want because tea takes a long time to make". My response "how about some water to wash out the taste of the sour tea?" Not terribly long after, my daughter's waffle arrived and a roach decided it was time to crawl across the table. We ate here twice going to Nashville and coming back from Nashville. The first time we ate here about 12:00 o'clock at night, the staff was so friendly and helpful, we enjoyed them so much that we decided to stop again. The next it was 10:00 o'clock in the morning, they were not that busy but the staff was rude and very unfriendly. We would tell them thank you and they would just walk away. We stop at Waffle House for breakfast when we're traveling because they have great coffee and reasonably fast service. However not all Waffle Houses are created equal--we've found some that were really awful and others we really liked. This is one of the good ones. It is located on a route we travel frequently and every time we've stopped in, the service has been fast and friendly, the food uniformly well-prepared. B very scared w/UR credit/debit cards. 1st xtra charges added. Employee denied it, tried to convince us he added the xtra charge only on our ticket but didn't include it in his manual addition. By the THIRD round of this back and forth, he admitted that he did add it in. Should have walked away, but disarmed by his/their friendly, non-assuming attitude. Paid for it w/card; employee took it where cash register was obstructing our view of his working hand (even thou we were sitting right by the cash register); writing motion (no computer/register swipe). As many times one uses a card to pay, I've never seen it done that way - was he writing down the number? That's the scary part! waiting, to see if he was doing what Waffle House's (antiquated?) way of payment by card or is it the employee's hopefully unquestioned way. Then he waited to the very end b4 returning our card. ALso, we got no copy, no duplicate of the ticket were the unauthorized charges were made and added up or the corrections that finally were corrected; only the final, unitemized total were we 'allowed' to keep - so 'no evidence?'. What a way to do business!!!! I say Waffle House (antiquated way?) bc what substantial chain has employees manually add the tickets anymore - need to get w/the times or stay behind. Will NOT go back there & probably has scared me not to go to any other Waffle House. TOO MUCH HASSLE to just get something to eat. TOO MANY OTHER CHOICES; and so far, w/o any of this waiting period to see if everything is on the up and up. P.S.
