Tried the one biscuit and gravy and was pleasantly surprised. I am very picky on my gravy and biscuits. Service was very quick and friendly and a very friendly environment. Great good, great service, and great space. Located in the heart of downtown Jackson, this is a great place to stop in for a meal. Mg fiancée and I stopped in for a Saturday brunch and it was amazing. The service was quick and helpful! Food was even better! We had some drinks from the bar to liven up our brunch and they did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. I would recommend stopping in! read more

Ordered eggs Benedict. Eggs were completely boiled with no runny center. There was only a "hint" of hollandaise sauce. And that candied bacon, while it may be for some people, was far from appetizing to me. And all of that for over $20. With the overcooked eggs, I would have preferred a McMuffin. Don't know if this was one time only, but I paid a premium price for substandard food. read more

I ordered the cali club with a side salad asking for ranch with the salad. On the receipt it said lemon vinaigrette for the salad and I said no ranch. She said oh thats what is on the sandwich I will make sure they give you a side of ranch, I will check before you get your order. She didn't end up checking of giving me ranch. The thing in the cup was the lemon vinaigrette but I guess they put on the side, not on the sandwich. I also got a fresh orange juice which was extremely sour and pricey at $7 a cup. The sandwich alone wasn't flavorful at all. Im not from around here so didnt have mayo or anything to put on the sandwhich when I got back to where I was staying. So if I was in the area again, I probably wouldn't be back. read more

A traveling girl dream is googling a restaurant to try that exceeds your expectations. Allow me to compendious my "Big Back" experience. Upon entering, a signicade guided me into a line to order off of the menu followed by a payment transaction & a seat of my choice. I chose a table, nearest the wall, towards the back restaurant that greeted "Going to Jackson." As the preparation of my food occurred, I read the entire menu with amazement of how mickled the breakfast & lunch options provided. *Side note* A first time visitor (me) to a potential another, the flatware set, straws, drink machine with plastic cups, etc are self obtained. The amount of food I placed to order gave "Big Back" energy with no shame! Started off with the Hub City Plate substitute for egg whites, candied bacon, chicken sausage & a pancake to replace my toast. The cooks didn't cheat me with my three eggs, thick slices of bacon nor the palm size of sausage patties. I'm a saucy gal! They spoke my mind before I could, ketchup served with my potatoes. Let's get into the pancake! It ort a box of Aunt Jemima mix by its thickness & crispy edges with a dab of sweetness. The additional viand of french toast, which appears to be popular, had nothing on that pancake. In my opinion, if I had to choose! To perorate, Jackson's Kitchen & Catering ambience favored retro versions of a coffee shop per its light fixtures. But spacious enough to host private parties, if there are future thoughts. Everyone was great the ambience the service and the food was amazing. I do think the music could be turned down just a little bit. Just a bit. I LOVED seeing the staff cleaning the glass doors. The folks over at Jackson city hall recommended Jackson's . My first time here. It was great all around from the ambience, food and the staff. I had breakfast there. Eggs, toast, potatoes and sausage and everything was done very, very well with just the right amount of seasonings. Bring an appetite. The staff was so friendly accommodating. If you are in Jackson stop here if your are looking for a good meal ( at very reasonable prices). This is the place to eat! read more

When we entered the cafe for breakfast, I was really impressed with the open layout. Whoever did the designing and decorating, did a great job, and it was quaint! There were large TVs up on the walls (but unfortunately, they were showing CNN) and music playing. the food was very fresh and really good, especially the fresh squeezed orange juice. On August 29th, we visited Jackson Kitchen & Catering, looking for a new breakfast spot off of I-40. For some reason, we thought this would be "right off of I-40" (I guess we didn't pay attention to the Google Maps mileage (?)). Initially, we thought, "we've never really seen this part of Jackson" and it felt rather...foreign? But once inside, the atmosphere was somewhat movie-ish, yet very comfortable. The dining area & restrooms were very clean. Orders are taken at the counter & someone brings your food out to you. While we waited, it was interesting to watch the comings & goings of this part of Jackson, as we'd never been in this particular area. It took some time for the food to be prepared. However, upon taking the 1st bite, it became evident that it was well worth the wait! The potatoes were 1 of the top memories of the meal (and I didn't order them!). They were cubed chunks, no more than an inch or so. Even more important, they were hot, fresh & fried to a crisp (with moist, tender center) incredibly tasty nuggets. I got the pancakes and they were unlike any other pancakes I've ever had. While I cannot label them "perfect", they are unique and incredibly good. They are thick & fluffy, yet light and tasty. They have a nice, rich vanilla flavor that's notable, but far from overwhelming. My only recommendation to the eatery would be that they add more fruit on the pancakes (and yes, they provide syrup, I used it and it was excellent). The highlight of the breakfast was the bacon fried crisp and not burnt. Typically, restaurants seem to believe you have to burn bacon to cook it crisp (that's simply not the case). The presentation of all the food was very alluring. The freshness & taste was even better. The lunch menu looked very appealing, but the hours are limited. Great breakfast spot in Jackson that we look forward to stopping at whenever we come through the area. Make sure you stop in! Thank y'all. read more
