Friendly staff, and who doesn't love warm cookies?? But the hallway smelled like cigars and there was mold in the shower. We just needed a place to rest our heads, which is pretty much what we got. I wasn't fond of how run down the decor seemed. Wallpaper was peeling in the room, wall art was crooked and the bathroom needed a ventilation fan and some updating. We found plenty of dinner options nearby, also a bonus. Breakfast was above average as far as hotel fare goes and the front desk folks were great. read more

Booked a night here for myself and three young boys. Really kind staff (except when I asked for a late check out, which was disappointing as I have never had an issue, especially since I have diamond status). The restaurant was accommodating for my boys. Noise level was a bit high at all hours, it woke my son up at 3am, but I generally kind of expect that with a hotel. I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. Blood stained carpet in my room (see pics), I mentioned it to the front desk lady when I got to my room (the front desk had just had shift change and she wasn't the person that assigned my room). The new front desk lady told me that they knew about that blood stain and they weren't supposed to be renting that room out. You can't make this stuff up. If you love the 80's look in your room, bathtub's with shower heads, moldy bathrooms/tub-showers, and biohazards, this might be the place for you. read more

The hotel hosted an Easter brunch ... Reasons to go: - Provides a different setting than the typical chain - Reasonable pricing Reasons not to go: - The food was simply not good . It was buffet style . We arrived at the beginning and most of the food was overdone as it sat under lights . The fish was hard , the waffles were hard and the macaroni and cheese tasted like instant Mac and cheese . - They required upfront payment to reserve a seat - They we're not organized. The catering manager had a difficult time managing the crowd, taking a name and providing a seat number . She was shuffling tons of papers around while people just stood there trying to figure out when and where they would be seated . They are hosting an upcoming Mothers Day brunch. I hope they apply lessons learned to the next event . I will not be attending . read more

Worst customer service. Was charged double the amount for the hotel room when I had prepaid with points. They made up lies when I called stating my daughter being added to the room changes the rate...not true I am honors. Then they tried to say my daughter was the one that checked in...which she wasn't she is only 17. None of these made up for the charges The had almost $500 dollars in hold and charges on my card for one night stay that was prepaid with points!! It made it really hard on my budget when I hadn't planned for those charges. I still have not heard back from management! read more

On my recent trek across the country, TN had gotten very, very long and very, very boring...not to mention very, very full of storms. After about 11 hours of driving, I decided to stop in Jackson for the night. Being a Hilton HHonors member, I tend to see what they have around first. DoubleTree is one of my favorites of their brands, so YAY for being right off I-40. It was a bit hard to find, but maybe that was due to the dark and rainstorm. I didn't have a reservation, but that was no problem -- they took the price which was listed on Travelocity. I got a nice room on the bottom floor -- big bathroom, huge flat screen TV, and fabulously comfortable king bed. They have a breakfast buffet around $10, which is a reasonable price for Hilton brands. There's no fee for parking here. read more

Hotel driveway was not easily defined from the highway. Room ac was not on so when we opened the door it had an odor and the moisture made the sheets wet. Baby roaches all over the bathroom floor. The Twist restaurant inside was good. If you just need a place to lay your head it would work. read more

Room is fair.... clean... typical room ... not Hilton standards by any means. The inside pool is connected to the outside pool so when there is an overcast, both pools are closed. We had to occupy our 5 year old with elevator rides until we convinced staff that it was safe to open the pool. The pool was a little dirty and cloudy, maybe from the rain/ storm?? Our little guy didn't seem to mind... he enjoyed swimming until the pool closed at 10! Beds slept great! read more

The Double Tree brand is generally solid for a good stay, and this was no exception.The rooms were clean and well-appointed. The desk staff was friendly and courteous. Nothing to complain about in the stay. And the restaurant/bar staff was great. The food was really great for a hotel restaurant. I had 2 great dinners. The Cajun Pasta was really great. And a $9 breakfast buffet with made-to order omelets/eggs is a bargain in most hotels. read more

I have never stopped in Jackson, TN for anything other than fuel and the Starbucks. This visit kept me in town for a couple days and I was very pleased by the "Dos Tree". Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a good restaurant in a safe part of town. There is a lounge for Hilton Honors guests for breakfast and happy hour. The hotel is quiet and everything was in good working order. Conveniently located (though Jackson is not very big to begin with). read more

On a family road trip we hit a huge chunk of wood on the road and shredded our car tires. We needed a last second hotel in Jackson. Ariel and Ashton were extremely helpful in getting my family 2 rooms on an oversold night. The police gave us a ride to the hotel haha. So glad to have somewhere to lay my head tonight. read more

I believe management wants the hotel to succeed, but clearly the message hasn't made it to everyone. Before I get to that, I'll state factually while agreeing with some before me, the hotel needs a facelift. There have been some upgrades, but it definitely has a feel of being decades old. I'm surprised due to all of the newer hotels that have popped up in Jackson, more improvements haven't been made. My issues are as follows: 1. Aside from the hostess who seated me for breakfast, not one staff member spoke with me. Sure, it's a buffet, but cmon... 2. My room had been "cleaned," but I found a used wash cloth hanging from the shower curtain AND several long strands of hair in the shower and bathroom floor 3. The shower has a slow drain, so after 45 seconds, I was standing in backed up water. I'm disgusted. I'm a former Diamond member... this is one of top 3 worst Hilton experiences I've had. Booked a mobility-accessible room that was supposed to be able to sleep 3 people (the number of people in the party entered at the time of booking). The day of arrival, went to check-in online as Hilton's app allows, and noticed that the room reservation showed that the room only had 1 queen bed, which obviously would not be enough to sleep the entire party. As such, called the hotel to confirm that the room would have the requisite number of beds, and was told by the agent on the phone that it would since "all of our rooms have at least two beds." When we arrived and went to the room, it only had one bed, so went down to the desk and pointed out the issue. The agent immediately got hostile and told me that it was my fault that the earlier phone agent said the room would be large enough since, "you didn't tell us you booked an accessible room," even though I presumed (as any competent hotel agent would) that they had looked up my reservation when I called earlier. Further, it was apparently my fault that the room was not large enough since, "[I] should have looked at the picture online," even though Hilton's website explicitly states that the online pictures may not be representative of what an actual room would look like. Since, as a direct result of their failure to give me correct information, I asked them to remedy the problem, agent became even more hostile and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. I called Hilton corporate to relay the information to them, and they confirmed that I was in the right. A hotel that absolutely does not deserve to be flying the Hilton flag read more

We have stayed at this hotel for 17 years and as the years went by it became a bit dated but the staff was always great so we maintained our loyalty to the double tree. The last two times we have stayed we noticed a change in the atmosphere and this last stay convinced us it was time to move on. The lady at the front desk, sherry seems to be annoyed that she has to do her job and the disdain for her is highly noticeable and apologized for by some of the staff. It was our home away from home when we visited family in Jackson for years and it's truly sad that it has taken such a turn for the worse. (Not to mention while we unpacked at home we discovered a stow away in our luggage. He was a cute enough little mouse but not want though want to find hiding in your luggage. ) read more

I remember when this was called Garden Plaza waaaaaayyyy back in the day. I have never stayed at this hotel until this experience home. Usually I stay at my parents since I am from Jackson, but my fiance and I felt we wanted a bit of break from the hooplah from family and booked it anyway. We were extremely pleased with our stay. The rooms are completely renovated and are modern. The shower has good water pressure, the linens on the bed were soooo comfortable, and it was very clean. Location is great. It is right off the 45 By-pass and isn't far off the interstate. Parking is free and they offer free wifi. Breakfast is not provided, but you can order it in for room service. I advise passing up this option and go straight to the many places that are in the immediate area for food. Check out was at 12PM. and check-in is 3PM. I am going to add this last little tidbit on the behalf of my mother. She rants and raves about their Easter brunch. Apparently it is the best in town and she wanted me to make mention of that. I am extremely disapointed by the hotel. I LOVE Double Trees, and Hilton hotels overall... But this was the worst DT I have ever stayed at. I only give it 1 star because the staff was friendly, and yelp makes me give 1 star at least. I had a king bed room. It was just after 10PM and I had been in the road for 11.5 he's so I was exhausted. As I opened the door, I was hit with an aweful smell of urine. I thought about going up to the desk and switching rooms, but I was exhausted and don't want to carry my bags up to the front. The room felt very moist, I checked the AC and it was set at 60, I put it to 68 in hopes that would help with the wet, muggy feeling of the room. No luck.... I wore my shoes the whole time too because the floor looked like it hadnt been vacuumed, and since the bathroom smelled of urine I did not want to possibly step in someone's bodily fluids. I am so disappointed with this room/hotel. I am bummed I used my rewards on this, when I could have found a better hotel on hotels.com for cheaper than what my points ended up being. Only positive things I have to say, staff was friendly and as always, the cookie was delicious. read more

I am shocked, appalled and now severely bitten by bugs received from this dirty hotel. I chose the Doubletree because of it's high quality referrals and reviews but not this location. Upon arrival the manager was extremely rude and did not want to extend the new discount price being offered by a third party. I was given a discount but was not explained this new rate did not include additional taxes and this was challenged when I checked out. Of course they said they would have the manager contact me but she was the one who did this AND entered my phone incorrectly so I wouldn't get a call back. When I arrived to my room, it was seemingly unclean, the outer bed cover had black spots all over. When I asked the cleaning attendant, she said it looked like footprints. The headboard was disgusting. I immediately requested another room that was *a tad better*. The headboard was cleaner but I still had to go to the local store for Lysol spray and wipes. This evening, I did not go anywhere because I drove nearly 600 miles. Therefore, I stayed in bed. However, I never expected to wake up itching between my thighs. I overlooked this issue because it was an extremely hot weekend and considered it to be a possible heat rash. I even asked a different cleaning attendant to change my sheets because I was itching the previous night. Well, no. This is not a heat rash and as much as I hate to say it, I now have severe bug bites all over my lower extremities. I am COMPLETELY DISGUSTED because this was the DOUBLETREE HOTEL! Known for their top quality and love for customers. Wow! So now, I have potentially brought a bug issue back home which I pray is not the case. This has been the worst experience, in the dirtiest high-quality hotel I have ever been too. I could have stayed in a motel if this is the type of service one should expect. I will be sending this same entry to them directly as a formal compliant. I feel so violated because I was looking forward to a relaxing luxury hotel stay while I visit my sister, a stroke victim, in a nearby nursing home. I had an amazing stay at this hotel. I couldn't believe how nice the staff was (I'm from the west coast though, so maybe it was just a Tennessee thing). My room was clean, the bed was so comfortable, and I adore the shower (two shower heads!). The lobby is also beautifully decorated, It added to my experience a lot. My only complaint is that the air conditioner didn't seem to work very well. I stayed here in June, and it could've been worse, but having that work better would've been nice. I didn't bring it to the attention of the staff, however, so I don't know how they would've handled it. Regardless, 5 star stay, no doubt. read more

This Doubletree hotel is old and not maintained. The shower and bathroom sink would not drain. It took several complaints to finally get them somewhat corrected. We were told that the rooms were only cleaned every five days! No beds made, no clean towels, no trash emptied etc. When the cost is over $200 per night you would expect these services. The noise level on the weekend was terrible. There was a large group staying at the hotel. They were loud. Talking and loud music until 2:00 am. The front desk did not respond to several complaints from several rooms. I do not recommend this hotel. read more

The website gives false information therefore leading people astray. The only renovation that's happened is the digital key (stayed there about 6 yrs ago). The room had a horrible old smell, the carpet looked nasty and they supplied a miss-match of toiletries, and the lotion had been used!!! We were greeted by smiling helpful staff and in our room with our warm cookies in no time. The room was comfortable and clean, the lounge on the executive floor was handy and the free breakfast we had there was better than most. The staff in the lounge was friendly and personable and the guests all people like us ... travelers looking for a good night's sleep. The restaurant (reviewed separately) was convenient for people who did not want to go out after a long day on the road. I will gladly stay here again should I pass through on my travels. read more

Easy to locate (right off of the 40!) and a warm cookie upon check-in...what more cour you ask for? Turns out, there's a lot more to be had at this hotel! Doubletree is one of my more favored brands of the Hilton company and this location did not disappoint. Free wireless internet (I'm a HHonors member, so I don't know if this affected it being free), and a friendly staff (they offered my daughters cookies every time we walked by the front desk, which was often!) make this hotel a pleasure to stay at. Spacious clean rooms, flat-panel TVs, and an attentive cleaning staff were added bonuses. If you're a room service type of family, they have a stellar on-site restaurant called Twist that serves high-quality modern Southern food. Their flagship meal is the breakfast brunch buffet which runs about $14 for adults (less for kids). The best part for me, being here on a work conference in February, was the indoor heated pool. No need to bring towels: they are complimentary! My daughters swam every night and it's a great way to get away from your room and relax for a bit! Burn off some calories from all that eating out for dinner! read more

I stayed at this hotel for a funeral and I have to say that this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. After being promised the bereavement rate for the two-night stay, I was later declined when it was time to check out. Not only that the Guest Services Supervisor Heather Ross reached out about the experience but after I responded on three different occasions she never responded back to me. I've made several calls to all the corporate phone numbers I could find to resolve this matter. I have been on hold and disconnected twice and no one has yet to call me back. I'm not usually the type to put companies on blast but I've spent a lot of money with this hotel and attempted to resolve this matter before going this route. This experience alone cost me approximately $800.00 and no one has resolved by concerns. If a manager agrees to offer the bereavement rate no matter how the system works it's should be done! read more

Stayed in Double Tree and multiple Hilton Hotels in the past. I was in Jackson for a conference and asked for a late checkout as the conference ended at 12pm. I called the front desk and was told if I'm not a "Honors" member it was a no go. I explained I was here for a conference and would really appreciate not having to miss some of the meeting to load the car and check out, still got no! This is the first hotel of any brand I've been denied a late checkout upon request. I definitely won't stay here again if it's on my dime. read more

So we had our family reunion here the last week of July. First my family was not given any special offer for booking so many rooms for the reunion as many other hotels give. Example a complimentary room for the organizer, access to the conference room... Nothing. Ok fine let's move on, the Suite we had was average, tub backed up with water and was dated. Next there were Several family reunions being hosted at this hotel, they had to be packed. There are multiple meeting rooms that were not being used during the later hours (9pm and after) with that being said in order to alleviate a overly packed hotel lobby filled with children and adults with no where to go, we asked if perhaps we could use one of the meeting rooms so that would remove at least one of the 4-5 families with nothing to do from the lobby. Or request was declined. We heard them decline another family attempting to do the same since the lobby was insane. I took photos of the posted schedule for the rooms which show nothing going on. I took photos of the lobby to show how ridiculous it was. The pool closed at 10, bar at 11, basketball and out door activities the same. Ok next night the same thing. We were once again told the "person" with the key to the rooms wasn't available. So apartment my only one person has the key to all these rooms and was never around. Sounds logical. Outside of the cookies which is standard for this chain, i did not enjoy my stay and will not be a returning customer. I only gave a two for the polite and Friendly bartenders and two/ four front desk people and the poor security guy that looked equally overwhelmed by the lobby crowd. read more

Was starting a status match with HH this week. Unfortunately I never made the match after this stay. The rooms were great very nice. Poor check in process - Beds were comfy. Customer service not to friendly... Nice little bar with over priced drinks and decent food. There was some nasty bugs in my bed... Complained with no results. Checked out next day went back to the Marriot... LOL - I used to have some pics of it on my phone hopefully I didn't delete them so I can upload to Yelp. $150 avg. read more
