I always love staying Courtyard by Marriott. They are not too expensive, have all of the amenities, and the food is good as well. Oh and parking is not a hassle and that is a plus for me. The room was clean and had a microwave and refrigerator. I personally love when they have those particular items because you can refrigerate and warm food at your own convenience. The bed was really comfortable and I loved the seating are in the room. Now it's not the most modern facility, but you can tell that they have made some updates throughout. There is a pool and workout room as well. Overall, our stay was great! read more

I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels and I frequent Marriott brand hotels and I can tell you the 16-year-old hotel is tired. It's clear this place hasn't had a refresh since it was built. The decor is dated broken and stained. The walls are dingy the whole hotel smells like smoke. The general manager working the counter was a nice guy got us checked in fairly quickly. They have a bar area which serves Starbucks coffee for a price, but it was also dark and dingy and not very inviting. It's unfortunate that they've let this courtyard get to this point and honestly, I'm surprised that Marriott hasn't stepped in and forced improvements being on their brand not intended as a dig at Marriott or this courtyard just critical feedback that it's time for a remodel. read more

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we expected. We had stayed here once before because it's conveniently located just off I-40, so I booked this stay through the Bonvoy app and even sent our expected arrival time. We checked in around 10:45 p.m. Unfortunately, the customer service left us disappointed. When we arrived, a vehicle was parked in a way that partially blocked the driveway, forcing us to drive around it. The next morning around 6:00 a.m., we went downstairs to get a luggage cart and coffee. The front desk was unattended because the employee was sitting in that same vehicle outside. We waited for a while for Starbucks to open and could hear employees working in the back, but no one ever acknowledged the guests waiting in the lobby. When we asked the front desk associate if anyone was working, he simply replied, "Yeah, they're getting stuff ready," and continued going in and out of the building without offering any additional assistance. As we were leaving, the lobby had become crowded, including two guests with very large dogs waiting in the Starbucks line. I realize many hotels now allow pets, but that's something I'll be paying closer attention to in the future. I am uncomfortable around large dogs and prefer hotels that do not allow animals in the common indoor areas. Because of the lack of attentiveness from the staff and the pet-friendly environment, we will choose a different hotel on future trips. The room was good, but the overall guest experience did not meet our expectations. read more

Room was not clean, had a few bug crawling around from the bathroom to the ceiling. Bed and linen wasn't clean. Saw pet food on the little patio area. Pretty underwhelming to say the least. I noticed some additional charges that they tacked on without me knowing. Overall shady! What does marketing fees have to do with my booking. Also the parking fee was never disclosed upfront. Never again! read more

This was a decent stay. We had been traveling 15 hours to reach this destination and were hoping there were food establishments around the hotel, but there is not. So we tried to get food from the hotel Bistro, but unfortunately for us, they closed early(bummer). Ended up using DoorDash. The room was good, clean and staff friendly. Since we were so tired, as soon as our head hit the pillow, we were out. We were hoping to get breakfast in the morning, but weren't willing to pay $15.00 each for it. We were thinking they had a continental breakfast, but they did not.The parking lot was small and packed. read more

This hotel smelled like doo-doo, azz and black mold. It has roaches, dirt and crumbs under the refrigerators. The restaurant ran out of everything and they don't know what hours they are opened. There are big dogs all over the place. My bed smelled like dog urine. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN. IT RUINED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR TRAVEL!!! DO BETTER MARRIOTT! read more

My wife had a room booked at this unfortunate hotel. Due to the uncleanliness of the room, my son began breaking out in hives and reacting to pet dander. My wife went to address this issue with the staff who were very rude to her. My wife did not raise her voice. She did not curse. The manager, in turn, kicked her out of the hotel. When I became aware of the situation, I called the hotel. I assume that calls are recorded (I certainly hope so). I did not raise my voice at any time. The first time I asked that they tell me what was going on (especially as I only had my wife's version of events at this time). The manager summarily hung out on me without even responding. He did not answer a single question the second time. I called a third time hoping to at least speak with someone at the hotel. They instead told me that I was "harassing them" and told me not to call again. They did not answer a single question I asked them, despite me not raising my voice, cursing, or even making accusations. I do not consider myself anything particularly special, but I am a Gold Elite member at Marriott and would hope that would at least get someone to tell me what is happening in a stressful situation. If my wife was treated anywhere near as rudely or as arbitrarily as I was treated, then I would like to speak to someone about this situation. This is not the standard that we have come to expect from Marriott over the years. read more

This was a very clean hotel. I was quite impressed that the tv remote was sanitized and hanging in a plastic bag. We all know that remotes are the dirtiest thing in a hotel room, so it was nice to see a sanitized one. The only thing that was dirty, was my window. I checked in late and did not have a do not disturb sign. After sleeping for about 4 hours housekeeping was beating on my door to clean, and tried opening the door. I had only been in the hotel for eight hours so I was a bit annoyed by that, but did appreciate their enthusiasm to clean. The grab an go breakfast was garbage. There was no fresh fruit. Just packaged and processed foods. Staff members were all friendly and despite being right next to the interstate it was a fairly quiet hotel. read more

We stayed two nights here this weekend while in town for the Tennessee Safari Park. It was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in!! We also loved that we could bring our boxer/lab mix for the weekend. The employees were so 'pet-friendly' they even offered her a doggy biscuit. The hotel itself was in a great location: right next to the interstate. Everywhere we went inside was clean, welcoming, and decorated nicely. Our room was likewise spotless. The staff were excellent!! They were friendly, down-to-earth folks who welcomed us graciously. I really can't say enough good things about the staff and the hotel itself, honestly. But why the four star review, right? Well, the indoor pool is much smaller than you can tell from the pictures, but that alone wasn't our issue. Our issue was that the water in the pool was salty (not sure why) and tasted horrible when we accidentally got it in our mouths. The pool looked clean, but it didn't smell clean. We were very disappointed with our indoor pool experience. If that had been as great as the rest of the hotel, I wouldn't have hesitated to give it five stars at all. The beds were so comfortable!! I believe ours were pillow top. The bedding was spotless, and we had plenty of covers. Each queen size bed only had three pillows each, but the four of us made due. They would probably have furnished us with two more had we asked, but we didn't bother. With the exception of the main front entrance, all doors leading outside are locked to everyone but guests. You have to have a key card to gain access to the hotel, the courtyard, all guest rooms, guest laundry, fitness room, and pool. We were very pleased with the added security. During our stay, they were offering Grab'n'Go breakfast for an additional fee, but we either went out to eat or ordered in with Door Dash for our meals. Overall, we were very happy with our decision to stay here; and we will definitely stay with this hotel chain again. read more

We had been traveling from Dallas with 2 cats on our way to Ohio. It was 8 pm and we needed to stop for the night. We stopped at 2 other hotels prior to this one and they were Sold Out. We stopped here and luckily they had a pet friendly room available. I asked the check in person what was going on as all the hotel parking lots (including theirs) were packed. She said it's like that almost every night due to their location, between Memphis and Nashville, and it is a days drive from Dallas so it's the stop-over spot. We found the room clean, spacious and the bed comfortable. We had enough time to go to the Bistro in the lobby area to grab a few cocktails and had a quesadilla, which was enough for the 2 of us. The Gals working the Bistro were very nice As well as the check in gals. I don't remember the prices of anything, but at that point the convenience was a plus. The Bistro closes at 10pm. In the morning, they had fresh coffee and breakfast items for sale at the Bistro. We just got coffee. I don't know why the bad reviews, we found this hotel to have no issues. It was clean, beds comfortable, some highway noise but nothing out of the usual for a hotel right off a major highway. The employees were friendly. I'd say maybe NOT the maid on the 2nd floor we encountered. She had gotten off the 2nd floor elevator (where we were staying) and parked her cart right outside the elevator door while she was looking at her phone. It was obvious we were trying to navigate around her and her cart to get into the elevator with cat carriers and luggage. We made 2 trips, juggling our things around her. You couldn't park your cart to scroll somewhere else - not right in front of the elevator doors ? She stood there on her phone the whole time, making no effort to speak, make eye contact or move her cart. I said Excuse us on both trips thinking it would jar her back to reality and to reminder her, she works in the hospitality business. NOPE. No change in demeanor or location. The other older maid we encountered downstairs gave us a big Good Morning! what a difference. Other than the maid with no spatial awareness, No complaints . I'd stay there again if in area. read more

After driving for over 12 hours we looked forward to relaxing and getting dinner at the bistro. Unfortunately they were out of a few things leaving only fried choices. My friend likes the room cold so I looked for an extra blanket. There was none and when I tried to use phone to call front desk the phone was not functioning. I made the walk to front desk to get blanket and on my way back to my room I dropped by the bistro hoping to get a hot cup to tea before bed but once again I was disappointed to find out there was none. The cherry on top was asking what time breakfast started I was told 7am. For travelers wanting to get an early start this is unacceptable. Overall sub par visit. read more

This is the worst Marriott I've ever stayed at. The room stank like dogs that haven't been bathed. The room was dirty. It also looks like no one has raised the mattress and cleaned there as there was a lot of dog hairs back there. I think they only do very superficial cleaning here. It was gross. I made my reservation on line. First, $275 rate for a Wednesday night (basic room) seems outrageously expensive. The room was comparable to any 2-star hotel like a Drury Inn or a LaQuinta. Definitely not worth $275. Second, I specifically asked for a first floor room because I would have my little dog with me. I made my reservation a week in advance. Upon arriving at the hotel at 6:30 pm, they put me on the 4th floor. Front desk clerk said she had no record of my request or note about a dog. She claims that if you make the reservation on line, the hotel does NOT get your preferences from your on-line reservation. No apology, no attempt to accommodate. Truly, the hotel staff just did not care. I would not have booked this hotel had I know I would be on the 4th floor. Third, when I asked for the Marriot customer service number, she gave me a fax number. I had to stand in line AGAIN to get the proper number. Fourth, the hotel sits RIGHT on the highway. If you have an even numbered room, you will hear semi-trucks all night. I will never stay here again, and I doubt I will stay at a Courtyard again. read more

Courtyard by Marriott Jackson, Tn The reputation of the Marriott name carries with it a high expectation of service and quality. WELL.....not anymore! I was informed when inquired about getting my room vacuumed, trash picked up, bed made and bathroom freshened up, I was told by the conceierge that its only tasked once a week. But, i have 4 days worth of trash, 4 days thst the bathrooms havent been addressed or the floor vacuum. It's like COVID didnt even exist and they went 50 degrees to the right on the Intelligence scale. Fantastic representation of the Marriott brand! Every employee encountered was friendly and helpful!! Check in and out with Brennan was a breeze and questions to Lucas were answered quickly and he was sincerely happy to do so! I cannot believe this hotel is 8 years old. Charged much more than the listed amount on the internet. Am a member but don't know if I will stay at a Courtyard again. Indoor pool closed, laundry broken and closed, TVs in special booths in restaurant didn't work with TV remotes. Asked if they had a handicapped room with walk in shower. Said yes. Handicapped room has tub with regular sides! Had two queen size beds with only one electrical outlet on fancy lamp. Would rather have a blah lamp next to bed with 2 outlets, one for each bed. The service is just wonderful and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The staff at the front desk was so kind with check in and assisting me with everything I need to know and were so friendly! I love that they have the bistro and Starbucks drinks in the lobby in addition to the little market place. It's always convenient being able to grab a coffee on my way out and the avocado toast is delicious!! (They have lots of tasty snacks that are healthy and filling) We always book a suite when we stay here and there's more than enough room for those of us that, ah, well, don't pack so lightly and want to spread out. They're reasonably priced and you get lots of room for the average hotel suite. Love that the TVs have internet capability to connect to Netflix and Hulu - I haven't seen that in other courtyard Marriott's so that was a pleasant surprise! My only complaint with the rooms is the outlets near the beds are "loose" if you will? They don't charge any of my devices and the sockets seem to be too big to get any electrical charge...? So that's odd. I wish there was additional shelving space under the bathroom counter for additional towels and whatnot. The suites' windows face the highway so if noise bothers you that'll keep you awake -- in my case it lulls me to sleep. I wish there was more lighting by the bar in the living room - but I do love that there is an additional closet in the living area of the suite and a roll out part of the desk for when you need to spread out documents! The fitness center is great to break a sweat with your basic treadmill or weight workout. That being said, all near the elevators and fitness center smells like chlorine from the pool so that's a little gross. The business center is really helpful with printing and internet if you need it and don't have your computer. The lounge area in the lobby is great as is the outdoor seating when the weather is great. I love staying here when in Jackson and plan on returning --I hope they do fix the outlets and lighting but this is definitely a favorite home away from home when I'm in Jackson. read more

I will start by saying the staff so far is very polite and helpful. We got to the room and the couch in the room has a big rip in it and it is soiled. The window is not clean either. Very nice hotel. PET FRIENDLY! Nice bar and nibbles. Friendly staff. Right off IH-40. Very convenient & relaxing.

I am a platinum with Marriott. This is the worst stay at a courtyard i have ever had, and i got here an hour ago in room 209. Wifi broken, shower is horrible and barely spits water. The bed feels like a canoe and i am not sure the sheets were changed. I should leave but too tired after 800 mile drive today. So disappointing. 3 bars of 4G, no 5G. Do not stay here. This hotel is loaded with neglect. Do not be a victim of this hotel. Plenty of other choices nearby. read more

Driving from Houston to Ohio with our dog and looked for a motel halfway that accepted dogs. This place is great! Very friendly and welcoming front desk. No charge for the dog, although they might have just let it go. The hotel is just off I 40 Northbound between Memphis and Nashville. The room is very nice, large, clean, and well appointed. Ordered takeaway dinner from the Bistrot on the first floor. Excellent burger and the best French fries I have EVER had. Extremely crisp and tasty. When I checked in, the lady at the counter was so unwelcoming and I felt like I was putting her out by checking in. While I was standing there, another employee walked by and she berated him for not carrying a walkie talkie. She asked if I had a floor preference, which I didn't. Then she asked if I minded staying on the side facing the highway. Why would you ask that? I guess because people like me who have been driving all day and are delirious and just want to get in their room will absentmindedly say that's fine. There are 91 rooms in this hotel - the first 45 to get filled up should be on the side away from the highway, always. Then, she handed me my room key and said "Here you go." No "have a nice night", no " enjoy your stay ", no directions to my room, no pool or food hours, just " here you go". So I said thank you and started walking out. As I'm leaving she calls out "oh, is that your silver car out there?" I told her it was and she said "I thought so". Okay... We tried the pool, which was very chilly. The hot tub wasn't working. The WiFi was so extremely slow that we shut it off on our phones and had to use our cell network. Thankfully my son sleeps with a white noise machine, but even with that we could hear the traffic from the highway. And the footsteps of literally every person who walked down the hall. It must have been the 1/2" gap between the door and the door jamb. There were miscellaneous screws and nuts on the window sill outside our door, and on the floor outside our door. Also, the window in our room opened. Like slid open all the way and there was no screen or any bars or anything to stop people (children) from falling out. Avoid this hotel! We paid $125 for this terrible stay. I've paid much less for so much better. read more

We were stopping for just one night. We had two rooms. One of the rooms seemed fine but the other one smelled so strongly of curry right when walking in! The smell never left during our entire stay. The beds came with no blankets. Instead, we had to ask the front desk for blankets. The blankets that we received were super thin and not warm or soft at all! Extremely poor quality! This was the best hotel we have ever stayed in - as a non-business traveller!!! It was great from start to finish! J.C. Shelley greeted us when we walked in the door with such great customer service and enthusiasm. I was travelling alone with my sons, since my husband couldn't get off work. We had a blast! We weren't in the hotel much but enjoyed the times we were. There were PLENTY of extra pillows...the room was large...the bathroom was a great size...the beds were very comfortable. The only reason I'm giving this hotel a 3 star review is because they lady at the front desk was great to me, otherwise it would have gotten a 2 star review. My entire floor smelled really bad, so of course my room smelled as well. My bed only had a sheet and a super thin topper. I don't know what you call it, but it wasn't a comforter. There was no additional linen, so I had to pull the sheet and topper from the 2nd bed to get comfortable. The AC would run for a long time making it pretty cold, but then wouldn't kick back on until it started getting hot, so I woke up a few times to pull me sheets off, then back on when it got cold again. The TV didn't work, the internet wouldn't connect to anything I had, the parking lot was packed because it is way too small. It was like they gave me the crap room because I booked it through Priceline. There's no breakfast, no ice, and the rooms were not well thought out. It looks like someone went to IKEA, and asked them what they had on special, then had some high school kids install everything. This was not a 3 star Courtyard that I'm used to staying in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you're already familiar with the Courtyard brand. It really should be a 2 star review. read more

From start to finish, our stay here was excellent! We checked in during a 2-day drive from Texas to Ohio; after driving for 10+ hours, all we wanted was dinner and a comfortable bed before finishing our journey. The evening manager checked us in and could not have been more accommodating. Not only did he make sure we had everything we could ask for (WiFi password, snacks, route to the pool, etc.), he also offered to order dinner for us or direct us to nearby restaurants. Our room was modern, comfortable, roomy, and super-clean. We dined in the on-site restaurant in the morning and the staff was professional and went out of their way to attend to our every need. The morning manager checked us out in the morning and wished us a safe trip. Pet-owner's Dream. I'm a lifetime Silver Elite member with Marriott, nearing lifetime Gold status. My family and I stopped at this Courtyard because I'm a Marriott fan and we needed a pet-friendly hotel. There was no pet fee charged here. You have to sign a waiver stating that you will pay for any damage caused by your pet, including lost revenue associated with the damages. Standard fare, really. This hotel is very clean. There is a large, grassy area beside the property for dogs to be walked. Check-in was a breeze. The staff was pleasant. We did not experience any noise while we were there, but it may have just been the folks that were staying there during our stay. There is almost nothing else around this hotel, except another hotel. However, there are lots of services one exit closer to Memphis (west). We will stay here again. read more

The staff at the hotel is very friendly and attentive. Check in was easy, and we grabbed a quick dinner at the Bistro. We had a slight glitch due to gluten, but it was my fault for not asking enough questions. Regardless, the staff was accommodating and took the food off our bill and offered a substitute. The room is clean and generally fine, but the bed was not too wonderful. The blanket was thin for the winter, and the pillows were the worst. The pillows were flat and small -- about the size of a couch pillow, and not suitable for a King size bed. There were also only 4 of these in the whole room (we checked closets, etc). No problem -- we called the front desk. They stated they had a pillow shortage and would check and call us back. They never called, so we made do with what we had. A hotel with a pillow shortage? Isn't that the crux of your business? In all, we would come back again because it is clean, convenient, and the staff is very friendly. We'll just bring our own pillows next time. read more

I can't say enough good things! I had booked a room in advance for my Ohio-Texas move based on the Yelp reviews. I then got online to google maps which also have reviews and one in particular sent up the red flags about cars being broken into a year ago. I called and spoke to the manager, Cornelius, and he told me that he understood my concerns but assured me my car and all my belongings would be safe and that I could park in the front of the hotel's entrance if it would ease my worries. I called at 6pm the day of my reservation to cancel just in case I felt good enough to continue on. I asked if I could still get the room if in 6 more hours if I changed my mind and wanted to stay after all. Cornelius told me that if I did decide to stay, he would reinstate my reservation. I got there at about midnight, completely exhausted, stressed, sick (and homesick) and Taye got me right in to my room. He let me park in front of his car so he would have eyes on it. He was friendly and helpful! The rooms were great! Very clean and comfortable. The bistro in the lounge is awesome - they serve Starbucks and the breakfast tacos were amazing! Great way to start the day! The fact that they allow dogs without any fees or deposits was awesome too! Thank you for being so awesome during the time I needed it most! Stay here people! Fresh, clean, well maintained, with cordial staff. No fridge nor microwave oven in most rooms. There is a microwave in their snack shop. Everything is designed to nudge the guest toward spending extra money during their stay, even the complimentary coffee which is decaf, so if you need that jolt to get started in the morning, you will have to purchase a Starbucks at the cafe. The decor is quiet with a discrete hint of elegance. In the bath there is no hair dryer on the wall; it may be found in a discrete little black fabric pouch in the closet. We had a very comfortable recharge here but I doubt I would return unless no other availability because I ended up spending twice what I had planned for the expense of the stay here. read more
