The pancakes were awesome but the grannies omelette sucked. The cheese was squirt on and tasted horrible, most of my ingredients placed on top of omelette and not on the inside. I scraped them off just eat what was left. Service was awesome considering the huge crowd. read more

Happy birthday, Mom! (See picture.) I placed a pickup order for my mom's birthday, which included a piece of pie. When I arrived, I asked the hostess for my food, but she seemed inconvenienced, frowned, and told the kitchen I was there. I only waited a short time past my scheduled pickup when the manager came out, reeking of Polo cologne (the green bottle), and handed me my order. Unfortunately, the food was of fast-food quality, and the pie had been carelessly tossed into the to-go container (see attached picture). I will not be returning. read more

We arrived about 11:15 on a Sunday, asked for are usual waitress Melissa. she was off, had table for 4 , waitress took our drinks forgot extra half and half had to ask again, orders came out food was ok but my eggs were cold, Husbands pancakes where cold , we let it go it started to get busy , waitress never came back I finally stopped her to get our bill, she kept take orders and brining food out , I finally got up to the counter to request to pay, I advised the cashier I was not happy she gave me my total I paid and she said have a nice day the line was out the door so rather than cause a scene and ask for a manager I left. Went to eat at Perkins the night before Last and threw food sucked except the pancakes which you can't screw that up. It took forever in the server really was not too far. The manager had to come get the waitress out of the kitchen twice while we were there make them work. read more

I had not been to Perkin's in a very long time, so was happy to find one along the route for our road trip! The service was very friendly. Food was good, especially the apple cinnamon muffin that was served warmed up with butter! Quantity wise, the two-egg omlettes in senior meals were pretty small with minimal fillings/toppings. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times. During my most recent visit, I ordered the skillet shrimp teriyaki dinner, with rice. Some of the shrimp were slightly burnt, and it seemed the rice was old and like some of it had been scraped from the bottom of a pot. I was not impressed at all. The waitstaff appear to be poorly trained and not very responsive. On previous visits, this man who works there would see me coming in and start laughing and would make a comment in a loud voice that "I get a real kick out of you." I am not sure what was going on but I ignored it, but I did end up saying something to him and I reported it to the manager on another visit. I think it was because I had undergone a knee replacement in 2024 and had complications from it and ended up needing to use a cane for an extended period of time. He had this unsanitary unwashed ethnic hair on top of his head and wasn't even wearing a cap, and I can't imagine letting him handle anything with that, I'm sorry. It's very unsanitary and I am not being racist. His behavior was very rude and disrespectful. I am 60 years old this year and don't expect to be treated this way when I eat out. Between the poor quality of the food and how it's cooked, and how disrespectfully I was treated, I will not be returning unless I see that significant improvements have been made. A black friend of mine says she can't stand it and will not go back; she has not been there for at least ten years. read more

I ate here yesterday for the first time in 18 yr's. I was greeted with a smile and happy attitude. After I was seated my Waitress Meloney came to the table within a minute and greeted me with a smile and asked me what I would like to drink gave me a menu and returned within a couple of minutes with my drink. Meloney was a superb waitress and always had a smile on her face. It was nice to see that she enjoyed her job. When I had a problem she remedy it without complaint or change in her service. The atmosphere there is a good place to take your family for a nice meal and social time. I was glad to see that Perkins was still living up to its good name with well prepared food and a consistency that hasn't changed since the last time I was there 18 yr's ago. They set us by the kitchen. Very loud and disruptive. Employees yelling out at each other and bus boys cleaning tables w no regard what other customers look at along the way. Ketchup bottles thrown underneath the cart only then to be delivered back to cleaned tables. Food was ok at best. Bacon had an old grease taste and seemed to have been cooked a while ago. Sunny side up eggs were cold. When the food was delivered...the waitress said..* I've got your biscuits in the microwave* truthful she was bc they were hard when she brought them. This was our first time here and from the hostess to the waitress ~ they were not unfriendly but not friendly either. I ordered the sausage biscuit meal that according to their menu had 2 biscuits with sausage and a slice of cheese on each biscuit. I received 1 biscuit with no cheese. I had to ask for my waitress to refill my coke and my husband's container that held his coffee was dirty from the previous guests. Our menus were sticky and I literally had to clean my hands afterwards. Our waitress seemed annoyed that we were there or just waiting to go home from her shift. Every time I'm in Jackson I stay close by so I can eat there every morning. Today I've decided I'm done. My husband requested no sauce but his food came with the sauce which is why I am not rating 4 stars. This is our go to breakfast restaurant when we travel. I've only been to Perkins a few times, but when I go, it's usually with my family. My aunt loves this place because it serves her favorite meal of the day, which is breakfast, all day. In my opinion, it's better than IHOP because you get way more food for your money and it does taste better. The service is a lot better too because they actually care about how your food is presented, unlike IHOP. Just like any other restaurant, depending on the cook that day, certain food items will be prepared differently than others when you ask for special requests. I'll continue to come back to this restaurant when I'm in town to visit my family, but not otherwise. read more

I went to this Resturant last week because my mom loves the place. With a buy one get one free email coupon i thought why not.. Well now I can answer that question. We arrived at 1:15 pm and were seated along with 4 other tables. Just 4 parties in the whole place. Our server disapeared 90% of the time. For one full size salad, lunch salad, bowl of soup, and half a sandwich???? - 50 minutes. None of this was cooked, the soup is preheated, cold meat on the sandwich and salad... And 50 minutes??? The potato soup tasted off, so I exchanged it for chicken noodle. This took all of 3 minutes! Soooo what were they doing in the kitchen??? The manager just talked to the cashier and wandered around. All the tables needed drink refills and no one seemed interested in the customers. The food was not even Subway quality. Dont waste your time or money. read more

HOUSE FLIES - THEIR HOUSE SPECIALTY!! We have eaten at the Jackson Perkins for quite a number of years, with moderate satisfaction. Their food is so-so, with their breakfasts rating somewhat higher on the scale. For some reason, at a place known for breakfasts, they seem to be incapable of making decent coffee!! BUT - Perkins always has been a 'predictable' place to get a fairly decent breakfast at any time they are open, and, for a long time, we had eaten there about once a week. However, we now have decided not to return to Perkins for a very long time - if ever - due to their major infestation of house flies and their apparent inability to do anything about it! This increasingly has been a problem at Perkins for at least a couple of years. It provides a very unpleasant experience - trying to eat, all the while swatting flies to keep them off your food, beverage, and yourself! When we asked about the problem, a manager said that they are limited in what they could use to control the flies. By what - the expense?? They might start by getting food off the floor so that the flies don't have an endless buffet!! We eat at a variety of chain and locally-owned restaurants in the Jackson area, and Perkins is the only one with a constant, heavy infestation of these nasty, germ-laden flies!! It is very uncommon, indeed, to see flies at other restaurants. Why is there such a difference at Perkins? Perhaps the abundance of 'fly food' on the floor? Yeccchhh!!! read more

I love the food here some nights and then some nights I hate their food. This location is very hit or miss. The wait staff especially at night could use some training, and it never ceases to amaze me on how some nights I get great service, and then other nights I get none at all. This is an alright place to eat at, and the fact that is one of the only three 24 hour establishments is a perk I suppose. If earlier in the day I suggest somewhere else, but if it is the middle of the night I suggest Perkins, as though service can be bad, they are still quite friendly. read more

I never thought in a million years I would write a review for this place, but after all the memories I have from here from high school of junior year to going in there now on occasion when I am home visiting, it all remains the exact same. In a good sense. Late nights out in the early 2000s were unheard of for people under the age of 18 in Jackson, TN. If you didn't go driving on the 'strip', the KPL, or weren't at church... you were at Perkin's late night. Never a dull moment in this place. With your cute little Southern servers from Crockett County or Trudy whose been there for 11 years, you're bound for an experience, especially if you are a visitor stopping through from some grub. I like how their menus have changed over the years but have stay consistent with their service. It is good food, but keep in mind that it is a chain restaurant. I'm not too partial to them, but then again, you realize that this is what I grew up with. They have a wide variety, huge portions, and their prices are sometimes a little overboard for being a family restaurant. I'm sorry, but you are not going to see me order a $16.99 mahi mahi dinner at this place. Never ever. This type of place can't get away with fine dining prices for any of the stuff they sell. The atmosphere is what you think. It looks just like a restaurant for mass consumers. Bring in as many people, and do it with a smile. They have pretty good service overall,but don't expect an instant refill... give it 10 minutes or so or to the point where you have to tackle her down. Make a point to eat a muffin or one of their pies. If you fail to do this, then you have failed to eat at Perkin's. Some would say the same thing about their all day breakfast menu, but I beg to differ. The desserts are my fave. Especially their specialty pies that change with the seasons. Stay away from their strawberry pie, but indulge in their peach pie. Simply put. Alright, my final verdict. Eat here. We went when we were kids to one in my home town. I love their muffins. They have slipped in recent years in quality but they are still good. Food woule be a 3 out of 5 to me.
