This is my all time favorite donut shop. I specifically drove out of town for these. The environment is nice, and the owners are friendly. The only thing that bothers me is that the lady of the house seems to be constantly on the phone with a relative or something, and it's been like that every time I went, so idk. This was the best donut I've had in Jackson so far! I was looking forward to trying these donuts for awhile now. I moved here from CA and missed my old neighborhood donut shop. Sometimes my mom will go get a dozen from the donut shop by our house, but in my opinion they're much too dense and heavy for my liking and don't have a good thick icing. I feel the same about the donuts from the bakery at the grocery store. So, today I was up early-ish and out running errands and decided to go grab a donut. I got a chocolate glazed. It was light and airy. It was first glazed ( like krispy kreme) and then topped with a nice thick amount of tasty chocolate icing. I ate the whole thing as soon as I got back to my car and considered going back to get another, but didnt want to go overboard. I will definitely be returning for more, hopefully soon! UPDATE: I was thinking about these donuts since my last visit and went in again today. This time the chocolate doughnut wasn't glazed first like before. Maybe last time they ran out of chocolate and decided to make the glazed into chocolate? I think they should make them like that all the time. It also didn't seem as light as before. It wasnt bad, just different. You know when you've had something before and are craving it again and it's not the same? A bit of a let down. Jackson Donuts is great place for a quick sweet bite. It's definitely better than Dunkin Donuts, but I wouldn't say it's anything gourmet. The prices are comparable too. They're about 1.50 for a donut. The owner is a really sweet guy, and he threw in some extra munchkins too! (Probably because he was closing soon) Unfortunately, this place closes super early, so it's hard to catch them when you get out of work. read more

I am giving this place 4 stars because I am not a donut connoisseur, but these seem top notch. The owners are very sweet. The environment is that of an old Dunkin Donuts (it used to be one) and has a shabbiness about it carrying lots of nostalgia. My favorite donut they only make on the weekends. The cruller. The owner told me they only make them on the weekends because the flour is more expensive (though the actual pastry costs the same as the others). It is light, almost like a cloud, and tastes not too sweet. I would go out of my way to try one of these. Such a treat! While in TN, 2-13-22 on Sunday, I googled a few donut shops. My first shop was sold out. So, I googled another, "Jackson Donuts". It was questionable, but I bought a vanilla cream filled donut and my brother bought two valentine hearts with pink frosting. The young lady who assisted us was kind and friendly! She added some chocolate glazed donut holes in our bag. The powdered holes looked delicious too. So, I asked her if I could have a few of them too. She gave me a few. As we drove away, we began to eat our donuts. I tell you, they were so fresh and delicious!!! I wanted to go back and buy more but the law of moderation constrained me! I tell you, the chocolate holes were so tasteful. I could taste the cocoa or chocolate and butter. I'm not sure what they used, but that's what it tasted like. I would recommend this place to buy your donuts for one, meeting or event! Also, the young lady made a comment that they were not as professional as Dunkin Donuts, but I'm saying her courteousness, smile, friendliness and homemade donuts got a 5 star from me!!! This is my least favorite donut place. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting out on the counter since yesterday. They only had creamer and regular milk. Many people are allergic to milk and can't drink it, including me. I got two iced coffees, and one was really sweet and the other was very bitter and sour! The hot coffee is also very bad and the (styrofoam) cup they put it in is very inconvenient and makes it easy to spill the coffee. Also, the selection of donuts is moderately small.
