Restaurant was clean, service was decent(until end) Food was the worst food we've ever had. Hashbrowns were still cold mush on the inside, steak tips were supposed to be rare, they were well down and tasted like they were coated in sugar. Eggs tasted microwaved. The most concerning thing was the server waited to see if we were paying cash or not to take our free kids meal off the ticket. I'm assuming he was going to pocket the cash from it since we didn't know kids eat free. This was 6pm Saturday. Ihop doesn't get the love it deserves. I've been here many times over the last year and almost every time we've had a personable server and has made it a pleasant experience. The food is always fresh and well made. I think this is the best breakfast spot in Jackson. If you need a great option get the southwest chicken bowl. It's always cooked to perfection. My family and I went to your restaurant tonight. Got there at 5:30pm. Wasn't immediately greeted by anyone. Finally after seeing two waitresses buzzing around for a few minutes, one finally approached us and a daddy-daughter date couple that was also waiting. Mind you, this is all happening right beside us at the daddy daughter table, because again, we have not been acknowledged past the seating. Finally, the "manager" asks us what we want to drink. My son, ordered a lemonade with some kind of flavoring. The "manager " Is literally dead pan-no expression or hospitality at all, acted like she didn't understand him, so he repeated himself twice. I had coffee and my other two party members had water. We waited another 15 minutes before they were even given to us. I had just uttered to my husband that maybe we should leave, this looked like it was not going to get any better from here. She comes over with our drinks as soon as I finished my statement. She informed me that someone didn't make coffee and that I was going to have to wait some more. Finally! Our waitress, who seated us and was supposed to be off work by now, came to our table told us she was sorry and she was overwhelmed. I appreciated that moment of honesty, after listening to her "manager" not take action or responsibility of any situation and completely give off the vibe that she would rather eat rocks then do a job that required being nice to people and take care of customers. I don't think this is the right career path for her and I will further explain. After now all members of my party's drinks were completely bone dry and we had barely placed our order, my husband told the manager that we wanted to cancel the order and pay for our drinks and leave. She acted like she had no idea why we were upset and why we said we were leaving due to not obtaining any service. She said, "your order is literally in the window". This great American institution makes some mean omelettes! Seriously, they'll last you two meals and are better than you'd expect. They're not super quality, but they are huge and tasty enough, especially if you douse them with hot sauce. Boyfriend got the steak omelette, I got the chicken fajita omelette and coffee, and we split sides of fruit and pancakes, which come with the omelettes. The coffee was very bad! I'd avoid! It's burned and bitter. The fruit is decent. The pancakes are pretty standard silver dollar pancakes, similar to what you'd get at a grocery store, not bad, but not mind-blowing. Arrived at 10:55pm on a Saturday night. They said they only do take out at this time. Silly. I was there the previous night until midnight. They gave off the vibe of not wanting to actually serve that late. Oh well. Friday night was crazy, the food was good. It just took forever to get it. We got there at 10 and left at midnight. The server was wonderful, but had to really work to get our food out correctly. Nothing we asked her to do, but she saw that the order was not correct and rectified the matter for us. HORRIBLE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. So we first walk in and it all seems okay. It doesn't take long for us to get seated but as soon as we are we are left in the barren landscape of no service. It took 20 minutes for them to even ask if we had drinks (the manager i assume had come up and asked us if we had even been served). Previously during our 20 min wait in the beginning i had seen the hostess take the orders of the people who had came in after us. then it took another 5 minutes to get those orders in. While we were ordering our drinks we went ahead and ordered our food as well thinking that would make the experience better because at this point we had realized that they probably weren't going to serve us properly. our drinks come out but then we sat there for another 30 mins and while we sat there, the people who i know for a fact got seated after us were already done with their meals and getting boxes. No one once checked up on us at all. Which i became offended by because it felt targeted. I watched as all the employees went out of their way to check in on and deliver food to almost everyone else who was there. I have no idea why me and my sister and friends were being treated differently but it wad horrible. It wasn't until i locked eyes with the manager (i assume) when she came up to us and asked if we had gotten our food. At this point we had already decided to leave but my sister didnt want to just leave without paying for the drinks to be cordial despite everything else. The manager said to not worry about the drinks and we left. This experience was so utterly offensive and ridiculous. Whoever was working today at around 6:00pm needs to be fired. read more

Went to the counter to pay and they tried to charge us more than what the ticket said. Honestly the only way I could have partially enjoyed this experience was if I stumbled in at 3AM from a night of partying. Even then they would probably still ruin it. They also tried to give several excuses, like the server was switching shifts. Yet she was still there when we left. And that the server was having a bad day. My children and I went in to have breakfast today , usually we don't go out too often as it is a lot for me with little children to tend to . Our waiter was Javier the shift manager. He was professional pleasant and made us feel like family. He had amazing energy and he was attentive and cared about the experience for me and my babies. Check your account and make sure they aren't charging you twice! My husband went on a Saturday TWO WEEKS ago to eat with his brothers, and they charged him twice. I called once the first week and spoke with the day time manager and she said for me to wait a day to see if it "falls off." I explained it had already posted to the account and that it had been pending that way for 2 days. She still said wait a day, okay. So, my husband called back once the first week and three times last week. The first week, spoke with a manager that stated she couldn't do that, we'd have to call back for the day manager. Second time, the day manager said she "found it" and would call us back...... She most definitely did NOT call us back! The third time, she tried to say that she was told we "paid for someone else's meal" (We most certainly did not pay for anyone meal and informed her of that) The FOURTH and final time my husband calls, the day manager states that she is going to have to "do some more digging to see what's going on" and was going to call us back at 1pm the following day. She definitely did NOT call us back the following day. We are going on almost THREE WEEKS of runarounds.....
