We were driving from Nashville to Memphis for our kids' sporting events and got hungry on the road. We searched for Italian places and found Picasso Bistro & Pizzeria. The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that would be great for an afternoon meal or summertime dinner. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and has a separate bar area for adult fun. In the dining room, you also have a view of the pizza oven. We ordered garlic knots and cheese bread. The garlic knots were smothered in Parmesan cheese and came with marinara sauce. The cheese bread was deliciously made with the same sourdough bread as the pizza crust. It also came with three dipping sauces -- garlic olive oil, pesto, and marinara. The pizza was amazing with the sourdough base. We ordered a large pepperoni to share, a chicken Parmesan calzone, and a ribeye wrap. All three were so yummy and the portions were large enough for us to take leftovers with us. The service was prompt and friendly. When drinks ran out, they refilled them quickly. In total, we spent around $100 for the four of us, which is about average for a night out with full meals, appetizers, and a couple of beers. Picasso was perhaps the most anticipated pizza restaurant in Jackson, TN for me to try. My girlfriend's father had hyped this place up to me for some time and I respect his opinion a lot so I my expectations were high but I was not disappointed. Environment was lowkey dark but lowkey gave it a chill vibe. Buffalo chicken pizza was outstanding. Service was exceptional and brought me an abundance of ranch. I wouldn't have thought to look at a bistro & pizzeria but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The reviews were mixed but we rolled the dice and glad we did. The house salad was a meal in itself especially with the cheddar cheese and bacon! I failed to take a picture because I dove into it. We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp... very good! The sweet spicy sauce had a nice lingering kick. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet and my husband ordered the rib eye, both cooked exactly as we like and not overly seasoned. We like the taste of steak more than the seasoning. The timing of bringing our salad, appetizer and meal was good. We don't feel rushed or forgotten. Our server was friendly and attentive. As usual, we found this place on Yelp and we can't turn down pizza. The service was great, the food was amazing. The salads particularly were so fresh and the ranch dressing was so good. The crust of the pizza is pretty unique in texture and flavor and stands out against most other pizzas we've had. They cook it in a giant brick oven, which isn't uncommon, but whatever recipe they use of the dough results in a very crispy bite, even for just the regular hand tossed pizzas we had. All around 3/5 food & service. Pizza flavors were good, toppings were sparse and uneven on 4 pizzas. Kids didn't like the cheese pizza which I've never experienced before. Server was immediately ready for us to order before we even had menus then extremely distracted and slow to get the bill and pay. I'd put money on the lady having squirrels syndrome. Most pizza sauce just tastes good and compliments the experience of pizza. Here, it's the foundation of the pizza. It's fresh and you can tell. It doesn't have that canned taste. It tastes like mom made it this afternoon and it's been simmering since then. If you know pizza, you know the ONE thing that differentiates on pizzeria from another is the ingredients. If you appreciate quality, you taste it in the first bite at Picasso's. Usually at high quality pizza places, you have pay for the higher quality. I'm willing to do that all day. But here, the prices are about the same as run of the mill pizza places. So as far as I'm concerned, there's no reason to go anywhere else in town. Last thing I gotta say... I don't normally do the ranch thing with crusts. It's kinda gauche. But when our server asked if we wanted some, for some reason I said yes. So I gave it a try. Oh my gosh. They MAKE their own ranch! It was impossibly good! Again, you can TASTE the freshness. This isn't from a bottle. No way. I hate to say that this place has now made ME gauche. I won't pass up the dipping ranch here again ever. We stopped in Jackson for the night after traveling from Cleveland Ohio for the day. It was 8:45pm, on a Monday, when we arrived and were greeted by Brittany. I chose Picasso due to the Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! Brittany was enthusiastic about the menu and their offerings. When she told me I could split my 10" pizza into two, I was thrilled! I ordered a hand tossed 1/2 Tuscan and 1/2 Pepperoni with hot honey! It was divine! The ingredients were fresh and the mix of toppings were perfect! Hubby ordered a salad he loved and we both had the house chardonnay. For a late pitstop, it was surprisingly yummy, clean and very friendly! It's evident they take pride in their establishment and hire staff who are happy to be there! We will now have Picasso, in Jackson, TN, on our short list when we are traveling through the area! I really like the atmosphere at this location. I often go after work to unwind. They have a wonderful happy hour from 2pm to 6 pm. I get a nice size margarita for $3.50. The have daily weekday specials too. The staff is nice and professional. I love the pizza options and the tiger shrimp. With the pizza, you can also do half and half. No additional cost however if you order thin crust, it is an additional cost which is $1.00 Definitely do yourself a favor and check them out. I only wish it was a larger building because more people are coming to the location and the bar area needs to be bigger. read more

While I was explaining that I am Muslim and can only eat halal food, they hung up in my face. If you are uneducated, there is no reason to be rude because of it! We really enjoy Picasso's. The service is always on-point from the bartenders to the servers. We have enjoyed everything we have tried from their menu - the sidewinder fries are something special. It gets crowded, especially on Friday and Saturday nights and can get loud, but on comfortable nights sit outside and enjoy the breeze on the patio. The guy barely tended to us. You could tell he didn't even want to serve us. I'm not sure if it's because my husband and myself are Muslim, but there is no need to have such a disturbed attitude towards customers. A beautiful place well decorated and homey. Service has been excellent the few times we have been there. Food leaves a lot to be desired. The first I visted I had the Ahi tuna salad and I thought it was fantastic so next time I brought my wife for pizza and it was very dissapointing. The sauce has absolutley no taste and its like it came out of a can straight into the pizza. The toppings did not add much flavor. Fast food pizza places have better food. This last time we ordered garlic knots which had no taste of garlic and again the marinara sauce had no tase whatsoever. We basically had cooked dough dipped in water. My wife tried the pizza one more time to give it another chance and it was worse than the last time.
