We love rafferty's. The food and service have always been consistent and great till tonight. I ordered the soup of the day which was turkey chilli and it was the one of the worst things I have ever tasted. I asked my wife to try it too just to make sure it wasnt just me and the look on her face confirmed my thinking. We sent it back. the after taste stayed with us for a while. I ordred the ribs. They definitley were not fresh. They were dry and not fall off the bone as ribs should be. The main thing I could taste was lots of salt. As we enter, you feel the warm welcome right away, very cordial. The waiter was young but passionate of his work. Very helpful with the recommendations and very honest. Unlike others servers, this young man gave his personal opinion of the food, be it good or bad. I haven't been to Rafferty's in a while, but I really enjoyed their chicken salad with their croissant. It was full of flavor and the croissant always provides a nice touch. The ribs were pretty tender and their french fries were good as well. I would have like them to be more crispy. Usually food is always great here, we have usually gone at least once a week. However the last salads we ordered from there were sour, not fresh at all. Management was no help and extremely rude. The food is always good when I visit this establishment. I especially love their potato soup and club sandwiches. The service is always good and assertive. If I need anything that make it possible. The atmosphere is laid back and I always feel comfortable. This location also has a happy hour which is from 4-7. First let me say that Rafferty's is usually one of my favorite go to restaurants. I've always enjoyed them in multiple cities. Went to the Jackson, TN location tonight for a light dinner and my wife and I only wanted a house salad with house dressing. We love their house dressing!!! For some reason, tonight's bacon dressing tasted old. I usually don't have a bad meal here, but tonight I was disappointed. They don't advertise, they don't brag, but what and awesome find! I've lived in the Jackson area for over 2 years and never knew this place was here! It was packed with people so we ate at the bar so we would not have to wait. There was only one bartender and she was stretched very thin. She kept a smile on her face and served us delicious cocktails! Husband ordered a steak and I ordered ribs and both were very good! Our salads came out really quickly and we were surprised about that since there were so many people there. This may just be our new go to place! If I were going to make one recommendation I would say to have more than one bartender on duty during busy times. Our family visited here several weeks ago for the first time and it was a great experience with Autumn (hope that is correct) as our server. She was fantastic and we sat near the bar. The food was great, the service was perfect. Fast forward to yesterday, and it was the complete opposite. First, we ordered the battered mushrooms and for some reason, we waited, and waited and waited and ... well you get the point. Finally, somebody came out and apologized for the delay. They said our first order was overcooked and burnt and so we were told the oil was being replaced we'll get a fresh order. You would think at this point, they would have said, "Hey, we'll comp the shrooms" but that wasn't the case. Next, we finally get the rest of the food and it was just okay. The salmon was way over cooked. The potatoes were mushy and bland. We also ordered dessert (Apple Crumble) and it was very good. However, multiple times, they (the runner and the server) simply left all of our empty plates on the table as they brought the desert. They had three chances to at least remove some of the used dishes however I guess that's how it goes. Our drinks weren't refilled. Our server at first was attentive and then that stopped. Although we've had some really bad experiences at this Rafferty's in recent years, we've recently returned due to preferences of members of our family. A while back, on one visit, I ordered grilled pork chops, which were terrible. The only detectable taste was a burnt taste. Today, we decided to try it once again, and I ordered a ribeye steak - which is very hard to mess up! Well, they managed to make it taste like charcoal - similar to the pork chops!! The texture of the steak also was poor. Anyone knows that a ribeye steak should be very tender, juicy - and tasty!! The person who cooked this steak must have missed the memo! Perhaps it was the same person who ruined the pork chops a while back!! To their credit, my wife had the potato/bacon soup, which she said was very tasty. It seems that it would be much more difficult to make tasty soup than a tasty steak - but, perhaps, the soup comes out of a can or the freezer!! I've told my wife that this was our last visit!! Poor quality of food, combined with rather high prices, doesn't deserve our business!! At one time, quite a few years ago, this was not the case here at all. What a shame!!!! read more

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised that redfish was the fish of the day and at a reasonable price. I had blackened redfish with sweet potato. The fish was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato was so big I took half home. My husband ordered pork chops again cooked perfectly. He also enjoyed a nice salad and baked potato. Our server was on point and checked on us regularly. The only real critique I have is the front door was full of fingerprints and since the restaurant had only been open an hour that's not a good first impression. I had never been here, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got a cheeseburger and fries and was pleasantly surprised. The burger was juicy, cooked perfect and very tasty and the veggies on it tasted very fresh. My only complaint are easy fixes and don't affect my rating. The fries were too salty for my taste and my burger needed more condiments but I've noticed that all the burgers I've had in Jackson need more condiments so probably just the way they do things here. The staff is courteous and quick to get us in and out for a very tight lunch schedule. The spinach salad was delicious I do recommend the hot bacon on The side and a side of their tarragon vinaigrette. Totally different flavors and textures. The tarragon vinegar it was delicious and refreshing one of my party ordered the steak and it was prepared perfectly and two of the others had the hamburgers. They two were prepared the way that they were ordered even though one of my crazy friends likes to eat is rare. It look like it was going to moo!!!!
