    All-Star Special Breakfast

This location is exactly what you'd expect from WH: well-made breakfast, slightly dirty interior, etc. I'm a WH fan so the lack of cleanliness doesn't bother me. My food was perfection. In fact, everyone's was; there was no food left behind! We went in as a large group--6 adults and 3 children. When we arrived, we were the only customers. So, even though our food came out in a timely manner, it actually seemed to trickle slower than expected.

One of my favorite breakfast spots when I travel. This location was very clean and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I had my usual pecan waffle with sausage patties and grits and everything was freshly prepared, brought to the table piping hot and it tasted delicious!!

Staying in the hotel next door and they don't have coffee. I know, weird. So I walk outside and see the heavenly glow of a Waffle House sign. Make my way across the street, fiendin' for a cuppa joe, and when I arrive there's a lady outside who says "We start serving in five minutes". I said "What?!?" She says, "Five minutes. I just mopped". Kind of taken aback I stutter out "I just wanted a cup of coffee". She laughs, says "I'm kidding. Go on in!" I finish my cigarette and walk in to a fresh, LARGE, cup of steaming coffee and pull out my wallet to pay. The lady says, get this, "It's on the house". Never have a I ever had a better tasting cup of bean juice. Couple hours later, all wired up and looking for some carbs, I walk BACK to this Waffle House. Open the door and I'm greeted by the friendliest staff in MO. "Hey! Welcome to Waffle House!" All smiles and no cheese. I order a steak hash brown bowl with wheat toast and ANOTHER cup of coffee. Got it within minutes, steaming hot and cooked to perfection. The server, Jennifer, was attentive without being overwhelming. Just a enough small talk to appease me without being annoying. Friendly and genuine. If I lived near here this would be a regular spot for me. If you love classic WH and exceptional service, this is the place to go.

Lost power and I had a meal by cell phone flashlight, interesting eating in the dark. Staff was great and so was the food. Will have to come back when they have power. Had to walk down 9 flights of stairs at the hotel and got here with lights on when they went back our in middle of cooking. Guess walking up 9 flights will help burn off the pecan waffle and hash Browns.

Stopped in for lunch just because this was one of the only places that had in house dining. I usually like Waffle House for breakfast and hate that, as far as I know, there are none in Sacramento or California for that matter. I was the second of 2 customers dining in. The employees were masked but not gloved. The other customer, the Manager and I shared small talk while I waited for my food. I asked if they still had steaks and pork chops and he did but it was on another menu, which he promptly delivered. He shared that the reason it was off the main menu was because no profit was made on the steaks and chips. They were sold for cost. I'm not sure why that is. The steak came with hash browns, eggs, and salad. I didn't want the eggs and so he offered double hash browns which I had him add onions to. Because of Covid, they no longer offered the salad which was indicated on the menu. I asked for my steak to be cooked "medium". However, it was thinly sliced and had no sign of blood at all! I was disappointed when I saw it, but It was tasty and tender enough - not tough as I usually experience well done steaks to be. It was cooked by a 16 year old cook in training and I thought he did well. Who knows if or when I'll ever eat at Waffle House again. I enjoyed my meal and only wish that I had the opportunity to have a Waffle House near me.

The staff was nice and friendly, they told me I would love the food and they are so right, I stopped eating to write this review (with one hand)! I wasn't sure what the perfect waffle or grits were like but now I know! Everything is fantastic and I can't believe I have never tried it before!

What's not to love about Waffle House?! Food was great, came quick, & very affordable, delicious waffles, good coffee, & BEST crispy hashbrowns I have ever had! Tasty sausage & bacon, & eggs cooked well. We no longer have any Waffle House locations where we live, so we try to find on any time we go somewhere else when we're looking for a place for a good breakfast. Our oldest son even said he wanted to come back again for breakfast the next day! However, what made the whole experience shine in my eyes was the service we had from our waitress. I did not catch her name, but she was the sweetest woman! We had a very cranky 2 year old with us & she did everything she could to put him in a better mood. Our son had been sick a few days prior & was still very upset & cranky when we went so her efforts didn't go far in cheering him up any but all the effort she put in was definitely noticed & very much appreciated, as I could understand anyone being irritated & annoyed by a crying toddler in a party they're serving. You could tell she did not let this bother her or the service she provided to us. Gave our 3 kids Waffle House paper "hats" & the youngest some crackers to try to calm him down.

At noon on a Sunday, it was bustling, but luckily, there was a very short wait for a table. Our server, Antigone, was fantastic! She provided amazing recommendations, was extremely warm and friendly, and made our experience very pleasant despite the somewhat lengthy wait for our food. The food was well worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed my order of salmon croquettes with rice and a biscuit. My mate's Build-A-Breakfast order of scrambled eggs, hash browns, and chicken wings had some of the best-tasting wings that I have ever had in my life. When I return to Hive Cafe, I will absolutely order the chicken and waffles just so I can have an order of those wings to myself.

The server came over immediately and gave me menus. I briefly saw the menu online but figured I'd do a once over before making my decision. I went with the build-your-own breakfast and got the eggs and potatoes with a biscuit and turkey sausage. Drink wise, I went with water and a strawberry-pineapple mimosa. The mimosa was so refreshing and I def. appreciated the pour after a stressful flight! It wasn't long until my food came out. I was a bit disappointed at the portion of the egg as they seemed almost too small for what I was supposed to receive. The peppers on the potatoes threw me off. I think I was expecting something different. Nevertheless, they were good but not what I had pictured. Surprisingly, the biscuit was the highlight of my meal. It was perfect! The turkey sausage tasted like regular turkey sausage, so nothing special there. Overall, my server was awesome and gave great service. While I enjoyed my visit, it would have been nice if there signs to let customers know they're under construction instead of walking into dust on the floor, chairs, and everywhere. Aside from that, I def intend on coming back!

We checked into the hotel on Sunday so I first got to use my free breakfast voucher on the following Monday. The host at the main entrance was kind and told me I could sit wherever I wanted and to help myself to the buffet. Once I found a table I was greeted by a nice male waiter who asked me if I would like coffee and a made to order omelette, which I definitely said yes. The buffet consisted of your usual, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits, assorted fresh fruits, a waffle station for you to make yourself. Yogurts and pastries. Along with my made to order omelette I chose some of their potatoes and fresh fruits. Not long after my omelette arrived freshly made and it was ready good. The waiter came back to see if I would like a juice to go with my breakfast and brought me out a cranberry juice. He was very attentive, he even asked if I would like to take a coffee to go when I was done eating and also brought me a cup so I could take my juice as well. I made sure to leave him a tip for his outstanding service. Now we're staying here for 7 days, so each morning I went down for breakfast, unfortunately the gentleman that helped me the day before was now working the front so I had a waitress this time. She appeared to be attentive on this visit. Instead of telling me i could sit anywhere she lead me to a seat and brought me coffee. This time I had to ask for an omelette and juice and when I asked for a to go cup she obliged and brought me a fresh cup and a to go juice that I asked for. I also left her a tip. Day three and up to Friday the day I'm writing my review. My breakfast morning experience has gone down hill. I unfortunately haven't seen the gentleman again, only the lady. When I come in she's nowhere to be found, so I just take a seat and go to the buffet, when she finally shows up I have to flag her down for a coffee and a omelette. When I ask for a to go cup for coffee or juice she's really slow to bring them back to my table. Once she does bring them back and I say thank you she just turns around and walk away with no response, rude. Overall the buffet here is pretty decent and if they could train the lady to be more courteous and professional like the first guy I had I would have given them a 5 star rating, but with me having to flag the lady down and getting a bit of an attitude response I am giving them a 3 rating solely based on her service.
