Since there are no Waffle Houses in New Jersey, when I saw one near my hotel, I couldn't wait to try it for breakfast. At 11 am on a Saturday, there were limited seats available, and we were allowed to seat ourselves. I love how the food is excellent value for the price, and everything is freshly cooked to order. Our server was very polite, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I have the Waffle & Breakfast Side (bacon) for $8.50. You can't beat a place that serves a tasty breakfast, has items under $10, and has great service. I definitely recommend this location! read more

This place is an absolute disaster. I walked in and was told to sit wherever I'd like by two separate individuals. I did so where there was one server running in and out from behind the counter. There was one family that was just finishing up their meal, another family that was getting their food served and myself. I sat for over 15 minutes and no even asked me another question almost as if I didn't exist. The one server looked like she was having the worst day of her life not my problem. You have a job to do. There were a total of 6 employees and many I made eye contact with. Absolutely terrible service and it's very sad as I've been to this location a number of times with zero issues. Oh my goodness!! What an amazing experience. If I could give 20 stars, I would. I came in after a LONG car ride, and my blood sugar was crashing. I asked them if they had any soda or something for my problem. One of the servers is a trained EMT and knew exactly what to do. She gave me juice and kept checking back with me to see how I was doing. Luckily, my blood sugar returned to normal, and I was able to enjoy one last hurrah at Waffle House and Missouri as a whole. As much as I love WH I wish I could give a better review. Not only was the restaurant jam packed - Standing Room Only - but not one of the employees was wearing a mask - on their face. A few had them on but pulled down under their chins. I only counted two other patrons wearing masks. I made the third. This place is too closed in to not enforce mask wearing. To make matters worse, my call in order wasn't ready even though I arrived a couple minutes beyond the time I was given. Sharonda took my name, started gathering and bagging my order - stopped - then put my bag to the side - for some unknown reason - and began helping someone else who walked in AFTER me and was also picking up an order. When I inquired about my order - she asked my name. Again. It had only been a minute or two. And I hadn't even walked away from the counter. ‍. When I got home I realized I didn't get one. single. condiment. Nothing. Thankfully I had what I needed at home - except for the apple butter I love for my raisin toast. Needless to say, I'll be avoiding this location for the duration. I'll give the recently opened St. Ann location a shot next time. Staying in the hotel next door and they don't have coffee. I know, weird. So I walk outside and see the heavenly glow of a Waffle House sign. Make my way across the street, fiendin' for a cuppa joe, and when I arrive there's a lady outside who says "We start serving in five minutes". I said "What?!?" She says, "Five minutes. I just mopped". Kind of taken aback I stutter out "I just wanted a cup of coffee". She laughs, says "I'm kidding. Go on in!" I finish my cigarette and walk in to a fresh, LARGE, cup of steaming coffee and pull out my wallet to pay. The lady says, get this, "It's on the house". Never have a I ever had a better tasting cup of bean juice. Couple hours later, all wired up and looking for some carbs, I walk BACK to this Waffle House. Open the door and I'm greeted by the friendliest staff in MO. "Hey! Welcome to Waffle House!" All smiles and no cheese. I order a steak hash brown bowl with wheat toast and ANOTHER cup of coffee. Got it within minutes, steaming hot and cooked to perfection. The server, Jennifer, was attentive without being overwhelming. Just a enough small talk to appease me without being annoying. Friendly and genuine. If I lived near here this would be a regular spot for me. If you love classic WH and exceptional service, this is the place to go. read more

Stopped in for lunch just because this was one of the only places that had in house dining. I usually like Waffle House for breakfast and hate that, as far as I know, there are none in Sacramento or California for that matter. I was the second of 2 customers dining in. The employees were masked but not gloved. The other customer, the Manager and I shared small talk while I waited for my food. I asked if they still had steaks and pork chops and he did but it was on another menu, which he promptly delivered. He shared that the reason it was off the main menu was because no profit was made on the steaks and chips. They were sold for cost. I'm not sure why that is. The steak came with hash browns, eggs, and salad. I didn't want the eggs and so he offered double hash browns which I had him add onions to. Because of Covid, they no longer offered the salad which was indicated on the menu. I asked for my steak to be cooked "medium". However, it was thinly sliced and had no sign of blood at all! I was disappointed when I saw it, but It was tasty and tender enough - not tough as I usually experience well done steaks to be. It was cooked by a 16 year old cook in training and I thought he did well. Who knows if or when I'll ever eat at Waffle House again. What's not to love about Waffle House?! Food was great, came quick, & very affordable, delicious waffles, good coffee, & BEST crispy hashbrowns I have ever had! Tasty sausage & bacon, & eggs cooked well. We no longer have any Waffle House locations where we live, so we try to find on any time we go somewhere else when we're looking for a place for a good breakfast. Our oldest son even said he wanted to come back again for breakfast the next day! However, what made the whole experience shine in my eyes was the service we had from our waitress. I did not catch her name, but she was the sweetest woman! We had a very cranky 2 year old with us & she did everything she could to put him in a better mood. Our son had been sick a few days prior & was still very upset & cranky when we went so her efforts didn't go far in cheering him up any but all the effort she put in was definitely noticed & very much appreciated, as I could understand anyone being irritated & annoyed by a crying toddler in a party they're serving. I ordered breakfast of two eggs, hash browns, raisin toast and bacon. The eggs and hash browns were actually very good but the bacon was burned to a crisp. The waitress never refilled my coffee. There were about 10 people working at 4:30 in the morning and they were too busy having a party rather than servicing the tables.
