    Nasty

This is the worst restaurant I've ever been in. There were black things floating in my lemonade. The food was cold. The manager was yelling at an employee in front of customers which made us lose what apatite we did have. I got to talk to a woman thats been on 1st shift for a long time. She told me this isnt anything new. Ive never seen anything so unprofessional. When i said something the manager yelled back at my family any I. We called cooperate on Jenny and nothing has been done. Seems like shes on a power trip and Waffle House lets her do as she pleases. I've read reviews and this isnt the first time shes done this. It seems like theres a lot of bullying going on by her and im not sure how she has a job. This waffle house used to be ran so much different. Let alone the staff were cussing and the silverware and table was dirty. I will not be returning. Ill take the time to go to Daleville. If I could give this 0 I would! Save your time and money

found a fingernail as soon as i sat at my table.

place is very dirty, saw germs on my fork. need hairnets, cooks hair was in my sandwich.

Food is mediocre and very SMALL portion for the price you pay. Definitely not worth it for a family of three.

Stopped in for lunch. Downtown Fortville. It never looks like there is a lot of parking…read moredowntown, but I've always been able to find a spot fairly close to my destination. I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it. I could easily become a regular there!!

The space itself is what appears to be an old schoolhouse, and it's incredibly warm and welcoming inside. There's a great mix of seating on the first floor, including community seating near a fireplace, smaller tables, and larger tables for groups. I noticed there's also an upstairs area that I didn't explore, but even just the main level felt homey and comfortable. It's definitely a spot I'd come back to for getting out of the house to work, bringing a laptop, or even meeting friends for a casual coffee date. The vibe is very cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and kind. The menu is thoughtfully curated, not overwhelming, but still offers a nice variety of syrups and flavors. My only small wish is that there were more loose-leaf tea options beyond black and green tea, but that didn't take away from the experience. Overall, this was a fantastic visit and a café I'd happily return to.

And at least for the holiday season, the interior looks incredibly cozy and inviting. If you have nowhere to go for a few hours, it would be a nice place to hang out and chat with friends. However, the coffee is fine, not spectacular. And the wait on the Tuesday morning I stopped by was about 25 minutes. Maybe it was quicker in the drive thru, but then you'd miss out on the decorations. Overall, it's a cute enough place to stop by on a day off for a leisurely morning, but I don't know that I would make a special trip.

Very friendly and courteous but his pants and shirt were dirty with food stains. Not a good first impression, for sure. Our waitress came over quickly to take our drink orders and ask if we had any questions about the menu. My wife asked about gluten free (GF) options, and our server promptly brought over a special GF menu Service at this location was excellent, however the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a three egg omelet with mushroom, tomato and onion, mashed potato with turkey gravy, and fruit cup. Wife ordered baked potato, tomato basil soup, and green beans. The omelet was tasty, but as you can see from the picture, it did not look appetizing. Also, kind of small for a "three egg". The Mash potatoes were the highlight of the meal for me. The fruit cup was awful. yuck. Wife liked the baked potato, but thought the soup and green beans were way too salty. I tried the green beans and had to agree. Ugh.... tasted awful. As you can see from the picture, the soup spoon was dirty, however, the server was quick with a replacement and an apology. In summary, the people who work at this Perkins were friendly funny and attentive and did an excellent job with a pretty good size crowd on a Tuesday afternoon. The food was reasonably priced, but the quality was well below acceptable. We for sure will not be back.

By this time they also brought my Fruit. (Frozen cantaloupe.) I asked to be compensated for the lousy service and meal. He took off $.99. Really you incompetent fool? I asked for a box to take home for the pets the potatoes and English Muffin I did not order. The manager did not seem to understand. I took home the food I did not order and my cold Hash. I should have been compensated for the frozen fruit. There is no compensation for stupidity. My next visit if things go wrong again I will walk out. BTW, I told them to keep the $.99. And left no gratuity. The only TIP I have for this so called manager is get a job you're good at. Also there are other waitress that have been wonderful on previous visits.

Since I would miss the activities planned for later that week, we both carved out some time to have a small celebration with just the two of us. It was one of those moments that is good for the soul. Every good story needs a great setting. And the context of our story took place at Lincoln Square in Fortville. It was the perfect middle point between our two homes, so it seemed only natural. I had never been to this location. The birthday girl ordered the decadent Banana Bread French Toast. It is topped with fresh banana slices, pecans, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped butter! I mean, Jesus, take the wheel! I went with a classic Western omelet. You can tell a lot about a place by how they cook the classics. And Lincoln Square did it right. Plus, my omelet came with hash browns and my choice of toast, pancakes, a biscuit or French toast. I felt like it was my final meal before walking the Green Mile! Everything was delicious. We went a little late for most breakfast crowds, so the diner wasn't very busy. Either way, we had great service and the staff were all very kind. I had the feeling that even if they had been busy, you would still be given excellent service with a smile. Like my coffee mug reminded me, every sip counts. I feel like that is a mantra Lincoln Square holds dear. Side note: I am new Yelper, and I am still trying to get a hang of this taking picture of everything deal. How do you guys do it? Do you ask permission first? I took some pictures of the restaurant and the outdoor signage before going inside. Yet, before I could even get to the front door, the manager came outside to meet me and asked if everything was alright. I explained I was working on a Yelp review, and he was very kind. But it got my heart racing. Can someone educate me on the proper Yelp photo etiquette, please?? TIA
