I went to the one in Alvarado this evening, I couldn't help but notice the man that was being awfully rude to our waitress that was waiting on us. She was very pleasant and nice. And attended to us, but I could tell she was very bothered by the way he was treating her. I couldn't help but to stop and leave this review for someone to see because I didn't think it was very appropriate and I could only imagine when customers are not around how this could be somewhat of a hostile work environment between the employees. I'm not sure if the gentleman knew that we could hear what he was saying and how he was treating her. I just didn't think it was right. hopefully this gets in the right hands something gets done about it. She did her job even with tears in her eyes. Other than that the food was good! read more

Every Waffle House where I've gotten great service and good food has been in small cities. Today was no exception. Quick, friendly service, perfectly soft scrambled eggs, sweet ham and hash browns just how I like them. Crispy around the edges with a lightly browned, soft center. read more

Not a fan of Waffle House but this one confirmed why. Food was not good. Bacon way over cooked with grill remnants. (Stuff from the grill). Grits bland. Over easy to medium eggs very runny. Always concerned to return food so we just left most of it. My husband loves Waffle House and never complains but said this may have been his worst experience. Could also use some help with the cleanliness. 2 stars because the staff was nice. read more

The food tastes fine and service can be a little slow. Definitely need to work on cleanliness.

EXTRAORDINARY service by Nikki this morning. This gal works like a little tornado! Good to see a young person who knows how to work hard and give GREAT service!!!! Gave to admit we always get great service at the Alvarado location. We have one in Burleson & Crowley but we avoid those locations due to staff who could care less if you are there or not!!! Thanks Nikki....Waffle House needs to hang onto this Gal!!! Food was PERFECT! read more

Just what you'd expect from a breakfast chain, a little lower tier than a Denny's or an ihop but worth coming for a cheap drunken meal or for a meal for long car rides. The service was good and quick, our waiter was very nice. Overall a pleasant experience and the waffles were yummy just not mind blowing read more

Super friendly staff. Smiles and genuinely happy to be at work. Food was cooked perfectly. Very happy with this Waffle House.

Most waffle house restraints are wonderful, this one is on the top of the list! Our waitress, Aaron Nicole was wonderful! We had phone calls going on and she was very respectful and super patient with the ordering. read more

every time I go here the service gets worse. I won't be going back to this location. the food was overcooked, yet somehow cold when I got it. the waiters always seem like they hate their job. if you don't like working customer service there are other options out there. read more

Service is terrible will not be returning it is very dirty looking when I received my order it was wrong too

Arrived at around midnight. Food was cooked great and staff is very friendly! Great location.

I will rate this specific waffle house a 2 that is because it was messy , the floors ,bathroom and service was messy. The cook was great ,food was ok. Not great. The servers were I think very young and maybe didnt understand how to serve and refill and that's ok. The food was good for the time being I was starving. I saw trash on the floor and the bathroom didnt look like it had been cleaned that day. They were not that helpful when asking about the menu. I was ok not bad. If you are hungry and that is what you can find at the time it will be ok. But I wint go back I would much rather go to a denny's or something. Try it for yourself if you would like. read more

Waffle House - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Alvarado, Texas

I love their omelets and grits. I don't like being told what to write in a review or how many words I should use.

This location is the best one in town!! The severs and cooks are amazing, it is always clean as well!! And I would a 1000% recommend that you come and eat here read more

Great food and friendly staff! I would definitely recommend coming here if you're just coming through or just looking for casual dinning.

The work ethic and hospitality at the Waffle House location couldn't be any more higher. These employees are spot on and had us extremely impressed with our visit. read more

The first few times I ate here the service was horrible. The food was not much better. That was when they first opened. I have eaten there a couple times lately though, and it seems they are doing better. I will go back. read more

Have eaten here many times and always loved it, until two months ago. I ordered my usual, hash browns in a ring, waffle, etc. The wonderful waitress comes back with dark scattered hash browns!! She quietly advised me that the cook (manager in training) was not doing anything in a ring today!!! I WAS LIVID!!! I reported this to Waffle House Corporate and I will not return to such a disrespectful place...I am finding that the world is changing and CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS GONE TO THE DOGS!!! In all fairness, the waitresses there are wonderful! Shame they are losing alot of business due to these problems. read more

It's a Waffle House. You don't come here for amazing food. It's decent and cheap. Nothing to complain about. I've eaten here multiple times and Staff is always friendly. read more

Food was good, waitress was great. Enjoyed just sitting there having bkfast with my wife.

The food is good overall. I only have a problem with one employee who shows that she doesn't want to be at work and spreads her attitude towards the customers. This is my second time going up there and I am not a local either and she has been there each time. Once we came our second time, she literally yelled multiple times that it is takeout only as if it'll scare us away. She also got pissed that we ordered and before ordering since we are not local. She said "are y'all gonna order?" "I guess y'all need a menu?" But she said it with such attitude and I really should have left but I came off from a long shift and needed food. Also for the time we stood and waited for our food, she was walking around talking to someone on her phone and lazily wiping counters while on the phone. Once she noticed who seemed to be a regular that came in and he sat down, she yelled at him while she was still on the phone that it is takeout only. I'm sorry but something needs to be done with this girl. Possibly more watch over her if she really needs this job. Her name was Samantha, she wore glasses and had half brunette half blonde hair. read more

Another 5 star review. Friendly fast service, tasty food and wonderful coffee. I love that we still see the same smiling waitresses each visit. read more

I was so unimpressed with the service at this location. They had employees running around in the back, the food, my god the food. It was so horrible. The eggs weren't even cooked properly and it had looked as if somebody sat on my toast. And they even charged me $2!! $2 for a single piece of toast. You bet my lucky stars if I'm eating here again. read more

Used to eat here a few times a week. Now you have to fight off the roaches. When roaches come out in broad daylight, you KNOW its infested. Health hazard. read more

This so called pancake house is ruined by all the cigarette smoke & grease that covers everything that is cooked on the grill. When this Waffle House first opened, it was wonderful! Everything nice & clean, no truck drivers yet as the new edition to the truck stop across the street was not built yet. As I am vegetarian, they were nice to give me a wheat toast egg sandwich ( minus the yolk), with tomato. My husband who is not vegetarian, was served eggs, hash potatoes, & wheat toast plus coffee. He was happy with the food & service as I was too. But now I can't even make it through the door due to the smoke clinging to dirty bodies, plus the floor covered with greese & dropped food. The seats are covered with grease & are clearly not cleaned good after each customer. Now I know not every waiter/waitress skimps on cleaning & probably are like some customers, victims of the only job they could find in days when even working at a greasy spoon is better than no job at all. read more

The iconic bright yellow sign broke through the crisp winter mix of the cold dark night. It guided us like the star did to the wise men. Upon entering its hallowed halls we were greeted by the warm friendly smiles of unassuming Texas workers. The two workers were draped in their famous Waffle House uniforms, worked the grill and register with the precision of the finest Swiss watch maker and the hospitality of the sweetest Southern Grandmother. They presented us with not only a fine meal but a wonderful experience. These two, working through the graveyard shift like angels, exchanged stories and pleasantries with us like old friends reunited. The cold harsh night had us downtrodden but the smiles and warmth of our caretakers and the delicacies they served left us with the ambition and confidence to tackle the rest of our taxing endless journey. We truly enjoyed our experience and for the love that we felt, we are eternally grateful. read more

Disregard every other review...this place is amazing! There is no smoking or any sign of smoking. The service is unbelievable! Gotta give a shoutout to our waitress Susan, friend Lynn, cook Tammy (Make sure she is working. Her hash-browns are glorious.) and lastly...a huge shoutout to the Freezer Manager, Heather ;) read more

We arrived and there was one open table in non-smoking but it was nasty. Someone finally cleared it be disappeared in the back to get something to wipe it with. We were going to sit at the counter, but it, too, was nasty and the waitress was about to put the napkin and silverware on it so we waited for the clean table. We warned her we were hungry and cranky. I asked for hashbrowns extremely well done, and she ignored the well-done part. My order came out wrong - not only was it undercooked, it had cheese. I sent it back, reminding her I wanted it extra well. I got it back - again with cheese. By now my blood sugar was so low I was shaking. It had been almost a half hour since we had entered the restaurant. I didn't get my bacon. Then the waitress and the cook started arguing over whose fault the error was. Then the third person in the group acted like she was doing me a huge favor by taking my food - which I never received - off the bill. I told her my friends had had an AWEFUL experience listening to me get upset and to the waitress and cook fighting over who messed up my order (TWICE - plus NO BACON) that they shouldn't have to pay, either. I was rudely told to call the manager - that the number was right on the door. I have NEVER been treated so badly in my life. Especially not at a Waffle House, where I'm used to friendly, pleasant service. read more
