The naked waffle was $4.50! Seriously?!! It takes too long to get your order because of all the extra toppings. People should be able to build their own waffles. Not a great place. I extremely love icecream so when i heard this placed opened i was down to go check it out. I forgot the exact name of the one i got, but it was smores something and i will post a photo. What a great concept, who doesn't love a waffle as a dessert. We ventured in on a busy Friday night. While there wasn't a long line to order, there was a long line of people waiting for their orders. It took about 20 min for them to produce my single order. I opted for the S'mores waffle. Presentation was top notch, it was an edible work of art. Obviously it was delicious. The waffle crisp and buttery. It was physically difficult to eat the way it was served and we made a bit of a mess trying, which many before us had also done as evidenced by the trail of waffle and toppings on the floor and tables which hadn't been cleaned. There wasn't much seating inside although we were able to snag a bench. Overall the food itself was great, but overall experience lackluster. The waffle was good, and a fun different way to serve ice cream. This is not your typical waffle cone, but a soft "bubble waffle" twisted into a cone shaped cardboard server, then filled with one scoop of ice cream and fixins. It was tasty--but it's a waffle and ice cream, of course it's tasty. On the other hand, it was very expensive, and you only get one (albeit large) scoop of ice cream. And the ice cream, is nothing special--mine for the Oreo treat, was simply vanilla. They were very good about customizing cones however you wanted, and they got me a new cone without even a second look when I explained that my order was made wrong the first time. Overall, it's tasty and unique, but not special enough to justify the price, IMO. read more

It was a small little ice cream shop in the corner (literally it was in the corner) but I will say I like what they did with the space to make it feel a little more opened up. The waffle taste pretty good especially freshly made and warm. But I will say that it was a little spendy and I understand that you're getting a beautiful creation but we bought three ice cream cones and my total was a little over $30. I guess it's the price you pay for running around in uptown. But it was very good, and my kiddos loved it. We ended up going back one week later. Why? Having had traditional bubble waffles from Hong Kong as a kid, my expectations were pretty low when it came to trying this place, but all the hype on Instagram and Facebook made me curious. I ordered the PB Love and my husband ordered the Oreo one. Both were really good, and the presentation was great! If you're a peanut butter lover, then the PB Love is the way to go! It was a chocolate ice cream with mini peanut butter cup chunks, drizzled with a caramel sauce and topped with a PB crunch cereal. The waffle itself seemed a bit dry and overcooked compared to the traditional bubble waffle, but in general, I understand that it would need to be that way in order to hold its shape. The flavor wasn't as sweet as a traditional bubble waffle, but also understandably so since the ice cream already makes it sweet enough. Overall, it was a fun experience! The food was decent, and the shop itself was very Instagrammable! The built-in backdrop was fun, because who doesn't like to take photos of food an friends?? Other than that, if you're craving TRUE bubble waffles, this probably won't fulfill that craving, but if you're looking for a fun experience and something a but out of the ordinary, this is the place to go! :) read more

I got the Coco Mango and it was delicious :) the mochi bites were squishy and yummy and the coconut shavings paired nicely with the mango ice cream. The mango ice cream was a bit too sweet for my taste, but still pretty tastey. The waffles are actually really good - the bubbles give it more of a sweet bread or cake like texture rather than a harder waffle texture. I think it's a pricey dessert but 1 cone is definitely enough to share between atleast two people. The cones themselves were beautiful but I'm giving this place a 4 and not a 5 because the mural on the wall looked unfinished with poorly painted over paint mistakes and the rest of the walls were pretty bare. This is such a cute place!!! They specialize in bubble waffles instead of a waffle cone with ice cream and toppings. When we first pulled up it was in a small stop next to subway, and we almost missed it!! It's a small storefront with not a lot of parking, but it wasn't busy when we went so we got a great spot!! Walking in, we noticed a few employees hanging around and didn't immediately greet us, but we had some time to read the menu which was good as we had no idea what to order. The gal that took our order was very friendly and helpful in telling us the most popular items and being patient as we decided what we wanted. We ordered some of their cotton candy, one bag of each color, the banana nutella waffle and the s'mores one! They made the cotton candy on the spot, in a cotton candy machine!!!! It was amazing, as I really love cotton candy, and was so happy that they made it fresh even though they had a few bags already made. The waffle was tasty, sort of crunchy but went really well with the ice cream. The banana nutella came with vanilla ice cream, banana slices and nutella drizzle. I ate the whole thing and loved every bite! I'm not huge into waffle cones but the bubbles made it easier to break off and eat with the ice cream. My husband had the s'mores and thought it was delicious! He thought it was a little weird to have m&m's with s'mores ingredients but he liked it. They toasted the marshmallows which was a nice touch as well. For me the best part was the cotton candy, which I enjoyed for the rest of the night! We will definitely be back, and would reccomend anyone try this place if you like ice cream and waffles!! I finally made it here and it was well worth the wait! Waffle Bar brings the popular bubble waffle cone trend to the cities. The cone is a warm and fluffy bubble waffle which is the perfect contrasting pair to the cold ice cream. They have a variety of yummy toppings as well that more importantly makes the perfect instagram picture. I had the most difficult time deciding what to get being very indecisive. I wanted certain toppings here and certain ice cream flavors on another item. But I decided last minute to get the Bubble waffle that is strawberry ice cream with lychee jelly, mocha and mango popping boba. It really hit the spot for me because I did not want something overly sweet and a little lighter. I had just eaten dinner beforehand so I was already kinda full, but the ice cream was so delicious I ate almost all of it! My friends both got the banana nutella cone with was also really good, I would probably have gotten that one if there was chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. We were also very fortunate to be offered a s'mores cone that was forgotten. It was super nice of Waffle Bar and I got my marshmallow stick which I really wanted as a topping. They also have bubble tea, coffee and smoothie drinks which I may want to try next time as well. I will definitely come back here many many times. Sadly on a student budget, I prob cannot afford to come here as often as each cone is approximately $8-$10. If I was a parent, I would not buy your small kid and yourself one each cause it is a lot of food for the price. Well worth it though!! read more

The cafe was adorable, but it won't last long if that's all this place has to offer. The service was slow, the waffle was dense and no different from a Belgian waffle, and it was overpriced for what I got. I ordered the Bananutella, which had only about 5-6 thin slices of bananas and a very small amount of Nutella drizzled on it. Had to find out what the hype was with this place. If you're familiar with the bubble waffle or "gaan dian jai" then this will nothing new nor will it be worth the hype. There were plenty of options of ice cream flavors and complementary toppings between their signature to speciality options dishes and I was quite happy that I was able to customize my ice ice bacon to include whipped cream instead of caramel drizzle for no extra cost. The "waffle" cone itself was good for the first few minute, and when the ice cream melted, it did not hold the crunch that you first had when you ate it. For a "dessert bar," this place has a great atmosphere but if they can't make their own ice cream to use for their bubble waffle cones and call themselves a bubble waffle/dessert joint, then it's not worth the $7-$9 a piece. After reviewing the menu, I realized it was going to be a hard decision. Everything sounded so good. I went with the S'mores More and Boba Waffle. Those two cones cost me a whopping $18.00!!! I just couldn't get over the price, but hey everything looked good and I thought ok this better be worth the price. The Boba waffle came with strawberry ice cream, mochi, mango popping pearls, and lychee jelly. OMG SO YUM!! It had the right amount of sweetness. The S'mores More came with chocolate ice cream, roasted marshmallows, crumbled graham crackers, M&M's, and chocolate drizzle. I would call this a sweet tooth's dream. This was a little over the top sweet, but the presentation was too cute. They make the waffles fresh to order, so its nice and warm when you get it. Man, o man was everything about this delicious. Rolled up to this place on a rainy night expecting to see a long line given the yelp reviews but was pleasantly surprised to find only a short one. They have probably 10 choices of waffles with ice cream and toppings, but you can add extra toppings if you so choose. My husband and I have spent a lot of time in Belgium and still dream about the waffles at the train station in Antwerp. (I know what you're thinking... who IS this person and do they also like Sbarro pizza? The answer to the latter question is sometimes, if I'm really hungry. Anyway, I digress, but I do have a point. The waffles in the train station in Antwerp are still hot when you eat them, and that is one place I feel like waffle bar falls short. Would also like the ability to create your own waffle from the available toppings, but suspect that may come as this place gets its feet under it.
