Today, we sadly learned that the owner sold the business to a new buyer that is planning on turning it into a Pho restaurant very soon. Thank you for the good food while you were here.

I've been to the Costa Mesa location but not this one. I didn't know there was one closer to me so I had to come try. I did come just an hour before they closed for their lunch/dinner break. We did call just to make sure we weren't cutting close to their last call. Got seated right away since there wasn't too many people inside. Did notice the location is quite tucked away from other stores. With the location being in a small area, the inside is small and seating is limited (Similar to the Costa Mesa location) Overall, the food was good. The spicy wonton was on the drier side, was hoping for more sauce on the dish. The mazemen was a bit salty. Did try to use a little vinegar to maybe cancel or enhance the taste but for me, it didn't taste much different. Definitely try it out, but not sure if this would be on my top list of mazemen spots.

Top: miso ramen Bottom: saitama mazemen

Good food. Place isnt too big but can fit a good amount of people inside. Got the saitama mazemen and the miso ramen. Both are really good. The mazemen wasn't as salty compared to other places I have tried which in this case is very good. Maybe come back and try happy hour next time. There was lots of parking in the plaza so dont think parking will be a issue. There was only 1 taking orders but luckily they did a great job of doing what he could.

Tokyo Mazemen

Tried the Tokyo Mazemen (without fish umami) and chicken karaage. The mazemen was decent, but I think I'm just not much of a mazemen fan. The noodles were a bit too al dente for me, and I was hoping the flavors would be a bit bolder. The jammy egg was the best part though. It added a rich, creamy texture and made the dish more enjoyable. The chicken karaage was juicy, though I was expecting a crispier coating. On its own it was ok, but the sauces really brought out the flavor. The restaurant was clean and service was good. While these dishes weren't quite for me, I'd still be interested in coming back to try one of their ramen bowls.

We went for lunch on a Saturday. The location is tucked away in a corner of a hidden plaza, but it wasn't too hard to find. When we walked in the restaurant was clean and more spacious than how it would appear from the outside. The service was quick and friendly. We got an order of the deluxe mazemen and the Saitama. Both were very tasty, and adding the vinegar and sesame seeds that are at the table add an extra kick that keeps the meal interesting. Would 100% go again if we were in the mood for mazemen.

Kyoto (Non Spicy)

Excellent service with friendly waiters and food came out quick! the mini cup of rice was a perfect way to finish up all that sauce at the end!

I was amazed to find such delicious mazesoba here in the U.S.; the taste is just like what you'd get in Japan. I was thoroughly satisfied, especially with the "oimeshi" (extra rice) served at the end. They even served the spicy sauce on the side for my son. The service was excellent, too.

Short wait on a weekday night, staff is nice. Came here a year ago when it was Mogu Mogu and it's the same. Ordered the kyoto which comes with pork belly and is nonspicy. Next time I need to remember that I actually like the tokyo [with ground pork] much better. the 'spicy' sauce isn't very spicy and is much more flavorful than the kyoto's nonspicy sauce. the deluxe is a delight with poached AND soft boiled egg, chashu [but different than the kyoto's version. it's thinner long slices], ground pork. wish the deluxe came with kale as well. Ambiance is casual and clean. Would definitely come again. plentiful parking in an unassuming small plaza. don't forget to ask for the little scoop of rice at the end to soak up all the sauce!

1/3 of an order of squid legs
J K.

Their deluxe mazemen is my favorite noodle dish- a little of every topping and always perfectly al dente. I also really enjoy their fried squid legs- I ate 5 of them before taking pics. Oops. They used to be Mogu Mogu mazemen but changed names. Same menu same owner.

Rice for mazemen

Honestly a solid spot for mazesoba in Fullerton. It kind of reminds me of another popular spot- Menya Hanabi. Got the Tokyo mazemen w/o chives & fish umami and it was delicious. Tiny serving of rice to eat with the sauce.

Spicy miso ramen
Brianna C.

I love spicy miso ramen, and I was looking forward to trying WADAYA's spicy miso ramen, and I was not disappointed. My number one requirement for ramen restaurants is that the ramen noodles cannot be soft. Thankfully, the ramen noodles here were not soft! They had a bite to it, which I prefer. Flavorful soup too. No complaints! Great customer service, our server asked if I would like to join the (free) rewards program, which I appreciated. Would definitely return!

Chicken Karaage

Rating: 8/10 First time trying Wadaya in Fullerton. Interior is modern and well decorated. Not a lot of tables, so there was a short wait. Space is clean and neatly set up with utensils, sauces, and spices at the table. Service was fast and very good. Ordered the chicken karaage and wagyu beef ramen. Wagyu beef ramen was very flavorful. Sauce had good depth and the noodles had a nice chew. The slices of beef were tender and well prepared. Only complaint is that the broth leaned a bit too salty for me, but overall still a strong bowl. Chicken karaage was decent but nothing special. Crispy outside and juicy enough inside, but didn't stand out on its own. The sauces carried it -- especially the wasabi mayo, which added good flavor and balance. Overall, very solid first visit. Would come back.

I was in the area with some friends and found this place on Yelp. The place was a little busy despite the plaza being pretty open, and we had about a 10 min wait. I ordered the deluxe mazemen and it was good, especially when adding more vinegar that gives a little kick. The noodles were a little tougher compared to other mazemen places I've tried though; I think I prefer softer noodles. But the server refreshed our waters and gave us the little rice cups without us asking, which I appreciated. I'd go again if I was in Fullerton, but probably would not wait for that long.

Clean, plenty of parking, super nice. In a rundown strip mall (?) and flavor is pretty good. I prefer the one closer to my house though

Is there outdoor seating?

I don't remember saw any.

Does the Yelp check-in for the 20% off only apply to dine-in or does it work with take out orders?

I just used it for a take out order today 8/30

But it's always been a viable option for some good food. But today I was shocked by how empty it was on a Thursday at 3pm. Something seemed off. I wondered because the service is quick and the staff is nice. Our appetizers were great no issues there. But apoun tasting my ramen it became more obvious to me why this place fell off and didn't have a soul inside. The tonkatsu ramen here use to be DELICIOUS. An experience of flavors and textures it was like cooked for 16 hours or something like that but idk if they got rid of that ,for some reason today my ramen was just bland and flavorless and not that hot and the meat was a little undercooked for my liking. I typically don't like to add too many condiments or chili oil to my ramen the broth alone should be able to stand on its own but it just did not. It was lowkey kinda nasty. And the noodles didn't help. And if I recall the last few times I've been here I recalled the same issue. The sauce on the teriyaki chicken was almost gelatinous. It looked like snot, it had this strange texture. I've never tasted something so gross. It Tasted worse than it looked and it looked terrible No joke. I hope they're able to fix these things because it's such a staple. This place really needs to get it together like how it was in 2016-2019! Those were some good times here!

In the middle of an unassuming strip mall with its own unassuming storefront lies one of the best ramen & sushi experiences I've had in all of OC. And I mean the *entire* experience. The interior had a an authentic and cozy atmosphere with little booths and raised walls, some of which even had curtains for semi-private dining. The Japanese owner was so friendly and after noticing I ordered a negitoro handroll, made us another negi toro nigiri with fresh wasabi garnish and beautifully arranged cucumbers, not to mention it was on the house?! Let me tell you, my wife and I have been to Japan twice and that piece of nigiri was the first time I could compare any piece of sushi in California to that which we had overseas... it was THAT good, like the rice as well had such a fragrant flavor to it that complimented the fish on top. At your typical sushi joint or even an AYCE one you tend to not think much about the sushi rice or even hope for smaller portions of it, absolutely not the case here. Funnily enough we came here for ramen but now I've made it a mission to come back to try the sushi as well. Speaking of ramen, we ordered the tonkatsu red (perfect mild level of spice) and miso ramen, both broths were flavorful and the noodle and meat portions were so generous. The two cuts of pork included in each bowl caught us off guard with how thick they were (other ramen shops serve 2-3 thinner cuts of pork), , but it was marbled nicely and cooked in a way that it was easy to bite off. And as if if the freebie nigiri wasn't enough, they gave us little scoops of vanilla ice cream at the end with the check! Needless to say, entirely worth an extra tip. We will be coming back!!

The smell came from a sewer line somewhere in the vicinity of the restaurant. Be that as it may, we left about five minutes into our wait.
