I really enjoy this place. The outside patio is an added bonus. Every time I've been here, food is exactly what I ordered.

We've been searching for a really good sushi place near downtown. This was our first time here, and we took our nieces & nephew who are 11, 13, & 14. We all love sushi and were able to order many different kinds of rolls. All the rolls were good, but the nigiri was not very good. The various fish on top was all warm. :( But they had a nice wine & beer selection and it wasn't very busy so our party of 5 was able to be sat right away. Too bad it was raining, we were wanting to enjoy the patio, but they didn't have seating for 5 that was sheltered from the rain. All in all the quality was about the same as most other places we've tried. read more

The sushi here is amazing and reasonable priced I come here at least 2 times a month. Me and my girlfriend always get the max Choi and Philly and mixed it up with the other 2 rolls. The volcano is also a must try. If you eat in you can 4 amazing quality rolls for around 30 bucks, you just can't beat for sushi! read more

We got the California roll, Sunday morning roll, the playboy roll. Playboy roll was really good. I do not recommend the fried calamari.

I came in a few weeks ago with coworkers and had a terrible experience. Edamame never came out, we all got our meals at different times and their computers were down and we didn't find out until the end. Meaning our boss had to write down his credit card info for the server to run later. I decided to try it again today and I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I were on a time crunch and the manager there seated us at the bar and took our order quickly and dropped off the check right after the food. 2 soft drinks and 2 rolls were only $14 and it was delicious. The food isn't bad for the price, but the service is and has been abysmal since it opened. I always end up coming back because it's cheap and close to where I live, but every time I come here I am anywhere from somewhat to very disappointed. Today, for example, I walked in and the hostess waited a few minutes before pulling herself away from her phone to seat us. We got our food and didn't see the server again until the check was due, and even then I had to make some serious eye contact to get him to bring that. The last time I ate in, I was wearing a white dress and we were sat at a table that was freshly painted black. We were not informed of this, and my dress was stained. When I mentioned it to the manager, she rushed by without apology or explanation. It's just unbelievable. Don't waste your money. read more

Went here for dinner tonight - been here before this with great service and meals. Took one hour to get one order of sushi, then the other roll and side of rice never came out before the waitress asked if we were ready for the check. I explained that I hadn't gotten my food and asked for the check without my order that I never received. Got the check with the food included that was never delivered to the table - and the waitress and hostess did not apologize for the absurd delay or even seem to understand that there was part of the order missing. Will not be returning, and will head across the river for our sushi in Cincinnati next time. Trying to support a small business during these trying times but to no avail. read more

Came in for a late dinner. Sushi was awesome as it usually is at Wabi Sabi. Side note...Asked Bartender Patricia to surprise us with her best cocktails and she mixed two delicious whiskey based drinks. Ask for the Patricia's Hurricane....No rum, but tastes just like the islands. Strongly recommend stopping in for dinner and drinks. Favorite sushi place in the Tri State. Wabi Sabi is by far my favorite sushi spot in the NKY/ Cincy area! Great atmosphere both in and out doors. I highly recommend the Playboy roll, Wabi Sabi roll, and the volcano roll! You really can't go wrong with anything you order, everything is delicious!! read more

Good food. A weird but good Doritos roll and the kimchi soup is delicious as well. But lunch service takes a looong time, so if you need something in between meetings, this is definitely not the place for you. Unfortunately, as a lunch option for when I am around this location, this pretty much rules out this restaurant as a good option for the future which is a shame. This place was just ok. Not much else to say. The interior was decent and the food looks better than it tastes.

We had really high hopes for this place and was happy it was walking distance from our hotel. We were seated pretty quickly but it took forever to be greeted. (The people next to us waited over 20 mins to be greeted) We order sushi first hoping it would come out first, it did not. Our friend ordered a martini and received a vodka and lemonade. He asked for a new drink and they just frustrated our waitress. The food was pretty good. We got bulgogi and Bibimbap. After we got our food and ate (30mins or more) then we asked for checks because we could tell our waitress was overwhelmed and wasn't very effective. After that she brought us our sushi that had been sitting on a counter for over 10 mins. We politely said we didn't want it after that long and had hoped to have it before the hot food. She was pretty rude. Maybe this was a off day. I know they were busy. But the service killed this for us. read more

The sushi is ALWAYS great and fresh, and you get SO MUCH FOOD at an unbeatable price. I frequent this place at least once a week. Servers can be busy at times but still attentive enough, and always willing to correct a mistake if made. Highly recommend!! read more

This place deserves a peace prize for serving reasonably priced sushi. 1/2 priced dine in and 20% off carry out sushi. So we decided to try Wabi Sabi out for dinner and we were not disappointed! It has a huge sign in the window about half-price sushi, you can only get it when you eat in. Long story short, the sushi was amazing!!! We were so shocked at the prices! I have a shellfish allergy so I normally get veggie rolls or salmon rolls. Well for 16 veggie and salmon rolls it was a grand total of.... $6.25!!! MIND BLOWN! My boyfriend got the firecracker sushi rolls and he said they were awesome. We got an appetizer and a total of 8 speciality rolls and my 16 rolls, for only $20 BEFORE tip. We will for sure be coming back soon! read more

Wabi Sabi seems like a solid sushi place- welcome addition to an otherwise sushi-less Covington. I like the patio/outdoor seating area. The indoor space has high ceaThey have the half-price sushi menu, which makes it a reasonable sushi price (why is that a thing?). I had two sushi rolls, which were good. The bento lunch box is pretty big and looks tasty. Service was fine. Will be curious to see how their Korean fare is. read more

I hate taking off a star from my reviews however, a recent experience 2 weekends ago compelled me to do so. We came in for a late dinner after a graduation, and were actually glad they were open late. We ordered several sushi orders and 2 Korean entrees - Bibimbab and Bulgogi. The sushi was great as usual however their Korean entrees were great disappointments. They were both served with a measly amount of beef. The Bulgogi had a small amount of beef on top of a whole plate of sauteed onions. The same can be said for the Bibimbab which was a bowl of rice with hardly any beef. My recommendation is to come here for their sushi however, if you're looking for Korean food, go next door for your fix. read more

Went last night for the first time, We asked to sit on the patio. We sat for ten minutes watching 3 servers walk back and forth and were never greeted. We thought maybe we needed to fill out our order first so we sat it at the end end of the table after 20 minutes still not even greeted I returned to the host stand and politely told her she sat us on the patio and we still have not been helped of she could send someone out. She apologized and said right away. A server came out I waved no response another one came out and turned on all the lights no acknowledgement. After 30 minutes we left. As we were walking out 5 employess said have a great night. I informed them that we were not happy and were never served and we were going someone else, all we got was oh sorry. Love this place. 4 stars because I've only had a few menu items, most notably the max choi roll, which they kindly prepare without the tempura for me and get right every time. Sunday morning roll gets high marks from my foodie 16 year old. Salad there is better than the typical iceberg lettuce- it's a spring mix with the ginger dressing. Staff is really friendly, accommodate our requests and remember orders from prior visits (thanks, Stephanie!) . Dining tip- Friday nights (maybe sat too) are PACKED and it can take an hour to get your sushi, but it's worth it. read more

Yesterday was my first time at this establishment, I went for lunch. I am a bit of a picky eater and had lots of questions, my server was in training her name was Shana and her trainer was Jocelyn. The place gets pretty crowded, more crowded than I expected and even with all the attention I needed, these ladies rocked it out. Everything I had was delicious. We were hopeful about our experience based on recent reviews on Yelp. First thing we noticed the restaurant stank of lacquer and old musk. After being awkwardly greeted, we were seated under ceiling fans that were no doubt on the highest setting. Our waiter dropped off waters and said he would be right back. I noticed it was going to be hard to hear any conversation over the loud music, a playlist consisting of pop / Beyonce-esque songs. We ordered four sushi rolls, which were.. mediocre. The rolls tasted pretty much the same as any other sushi restaurant around town. It was uncomfortably cold, so we requested that the fan directly above us be turned down or off to which our server replied he would take care of. The server stopped by our table two separate times during our meal to tell us someone was getting the fan turned off right away, which never happened. Service was quite lacking. Overall, we were there longer than we needed to be. -Unfriendly and awkward staff -The place smells and feels old and musty (not new!) -Music and temperature were anything but relaxing or soothing -barely OK sushi read more

Went yesterday and elected to sit outside on the back patio- A/C was blasting inside and it was FREEZING. There were 4-5 other tables seated when we arrived around 6 pm. We ordered the spicy shrimp, bengal, the crab & veggie roll (unsure of its actual name) and one other I can't recall the name of. We ordered around 6:05 and waited until 6:35 to get our food. Frustrating considering its sushi, and should never take this long, especially when it wasn't busy. When the food finally arrived, I picked up the veggie roll and could see holes through it- a very poor roll. Personally not a fan of the pink dyed ginger they use either. The quality of the sushi definitely falls under the 'half price sushi' umbrella. None of the rolls were anything special and I don't see any reason to return after waiting so long for substandard sushi. read more

Call me a sushi snob, but this is mediocre at best. Slightly better than Kroger but no where near the quality of Miyako or jo an sushi. This is basically fast food sushi. Most of the rolls are Tempura battered or covered in spicy mayo. No creativity, no thought into the ingredients. The ginger salad was served with mixed greens vs. crisp iceburg and the dressing was chalky. I am not sure how this place has been rated higher than a 2 star, but save your money. Oh wait everything is half price everyday there so I guess I should say... If that is what you want to spend your money on. read more

Really good sushi and priced reasonably. When eating out, I tend to choose other foods over sushi, but this place made me a fan. The inside is small, but not too cramped or noisy. Came by for lunch one day and the place wasn't packed but it took really long for the staff to attend out table of four people, everything related to service was extremely slow and perhaps they just need one or two more people during lunch. I got some sushi (salmon rolls) and a yaki soba with beef. Both the items were okay and kind of basic and was priced favorably for lunch. I will have to try out dinner sometime and will have to update this review. By the way they have half priced sushi...umm everyday...yeah I don't get it either but it does give you a nice option for grabbing a lot of sushi if you are craving so. read more

I can't say that I understand most of the other reviews here. I gave Wabi Sabi three tries. The first time, the sushi was not very good at all. As soon as it arrived at the table, you could see that it was not fresh. I gave the place a second chance, and that night, the sushi was considerably better. So I agreed to return for a third try. The third was perhaps the worst of the three. The nigiri was not good at all--and again, it was evident as soon as I looked at it. I suppose people like the rolls because they're loaded with other ingredients that cover up the taste of the fish. The atmosphere is a musty-ish old bar. They've tried to update it, but you can't escape the musty sense. We tried the patio, but so many people were smoking, we went back inside. Even inside, though, smoke from the patio was wafting through the restaurant because the front and back doors were open. On the bright side, they make a good seaweed salad. But that isn't enough to redeem the place for me. I've given it three tries, and two of them were disappointments. I won't try any more. read more
