Avoid this Waba Grill! If you enjoy Waba grill like me then avoid this location. If you have never been to Waba grill don't start here. Nothing here is up to the standard I have come to expect from Waba Grill. The meat was not cooked over the open flame, but on a flat grill with a press on top then transferred to the flame for a few seconds to put lines on it. They do not have any brewed Iced Tea selections but only ones that come from the Pepsi fountain. The veggies were not cooked good. But the rice was good. read more

So the very first time here this place was super good I ordered my food came to me hot the service was really good and they had soy sauce really really good I was like in going to eat at this every day it health and the price of the items are reasonable. So my second time there was HORRIBLE I ordered my food and then a rush came in after me and people who came after me got there food before I did and all I ordered was a beef plate and a kids bowl so after about 20 mins I received my food it was warm to to the cold side and my salad was wilted and old it looked like it had been about a week old so when the manger walked by he asked how is everything and I told him the salad was old and wilted and he said was he would look into it but he's response was he just blew me off. So if I could have the same experience the first time I would eat there everyday but I'm going to stay away from there for. Went on 9/3/2015. Brought my daughter and twin grandkids. Our first time in a Waba Grill. The inside felt like they had little A/C and it was humid and stuffy. The person who took our order was impatient even after I told him this was my first visit. I wasn't holding up any line, no one behind me. Placed orders and he said white chicken or dark. My daughter said white and then said brown rice. He charged .90 extra for white meat and .50 extra for brown rice. He never said there was an extra charge. I told him just give us regular rice and dark chicken and steak. While questioning him about the white vs dark he got sassy and started giving us a lesson on what parts of the chicken are dark and white. He needs an attitude adjustment. He was also laughing with another co-worker staring at us as we left the place. Grow up! The food was ok. The chicken was dry and some parts of it were chewy. Good flavor but not great. Without his attitude I would have paid extra for all 4 plates to have white meat, but that first impression was awful. Long lines ,order was wrong the receipt had the correct order but the person that put the meals together got it wrong , almost all fountain drinks out of service even the brewed tea , The cashier seemed distracted. The chicken was dry the teriyaki sauce definitely help to pass it. The salad wasn't green and had an overwhelming amount of dressing. I definitely think they need someone to be keeping the lobby clean. They were backed up on orders so we sat and waited, i don't think we were the only ones that got our orders incorrect. More food should've been cooking seeing as it was the lunch hour on a Monday. The Skinny: Quick fix for hungry times. If you want something fast and can't decide, just go here and be done with it. Environment: Most Waba Grill locations are similar, so there's not much to be said in that it's a clean and modern look. The parking is ample in the area for this location since it is part of a larger plaza. Honestly, there's not much else around the area and the only reason I was there was because Coachella was nearby. Service: We came here in the evening near the closing time but they got our orders accurately and fast for our hungry selves. They are adequately staffed and it seems that they are pleasant to be around. Food: Got the typical chicken/beef rice bowl. I did like the fact that they didn't over-sauce their food. I tend to eat on the blander side of things, and Waba did a favor for me with providing their sauces in prepackaged minibags as needed. Rice was a little on the mushy side, but overall it wasn't bad. It wasn't great, but it really wasn't bad... came here because I was hungry and they served their purpose well. Overall: 3/5 If you are hungry and want a rice bowl with some teriyaki chicken, this will be a good option if you are in the area. Today not only did I have to wait but there was a guy sitting on the bench waiting. He tried to pay with a counter fit 100.00 dollar bill. Horrible service! Gone here many times and every time it's a disappointment. Tried to go to grab some food an hour or so before they closed and they always end up closing wayyyy before it's stated rather than their regular 10:00pm closing time. Might want to change the hour times if you won't stick to the regular hours. The service is horrible, they never answer the phone! They never have rice sometimes, which is what they should have at all times since that's one of their most popular side foods. Their beef taste like plastic. Out here in Indio there are pretty much NO Vegan options. I kept seeing this place everywhere because they are popping up like Hot Cakes! I decided to stop in because the motto was "for your health" and showing tons of Rice Bowls, I figured I'm almost positive there is SOME sort of way to get a veggie bowl as a Vegan Option? When I come in the building was VERY clean and the staff was VERY nice and helpful. That's where I give them the two stars at least. The over all product unfortunately was Very Bland and Very Mediocre. I was surprised to see Tofu was a NEW item? As in not even around in the first place? When I got the bowl the tofu was EXTREMELY soft they need to use more firm. It was cut in to tiny strips and immediately I tasted chicken. Right away I was not able to eat this meal. They do not have a separate grill for vegan/vegetarians. Also there was pretty much no veggies. Just some cabbage with a stick of carrot and a piece of broccoli. It was a very small bowl filled with mostly just brown rice. The worst part was this meal was almost $8 which was way over priced for the portion size and the lack of Ingridients? You could have made this meal better, and WAY cheaper at home yourself. $3 tops! And when you see the preparation they pretty much use a flat top grill and a bunch of rice cookers.. So again you might as well just make it at home, it's not even worth it "in a pinch". read more

I received a phone call shortly after saying that this facility was out of chicken and steak and that I could drop by the store for a cash refund. I had the shrimp plate and my husband had the half & half chicken/steak plate. The entry portion was good and.of good size. This is by far the worst restaurant I have been too, my friend and I each placed a future order on the app. When we had arrived no one was in the restaurant but 3 workers having a good time. We approached the counter and was waiting for someone to see us, one guy came up and we both said we had a pick up order. The guy said it was still being worked on. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes past our scheduled pick up time waiting for them to finish, given no one was in the restaurant but us. Finally our food was ready with no apology given on how long we had to wait. We drove home and got home, only to find out the second meat in both of our orders was missing. How does that happen? Both orders missing something. Did no one have time to check in the additional 20 minutes we had to wait? Additionally the rice was undercooked! We both drove back very upset. When we got there we informed the guys what happened and instead of apologizing, they made excuses of how long it took to cook one of the items. We also told them that their phone line is down and the guy made it seem like it was pretty rough in the back! That took the cake! We asked for a refund on both of the orders, just to find out they all don't know how to do that. We asked for a manager, no manager on duty. One of the guys was on the phone with the manager and said to come the next day for a refund. Still no apology. We went back to 2 different people there and informed them of what happened, still no manager to talk to. We let them know their phones are still down, and asked to leave our numbers for the manager to call us it's been 4 days no call from the manager. I don't expect one. I ordered chicken with veggies only, and they automatically charged .35 cents for more veggies...why not give the customer the option of whether or not they want more than what they normally add? For me, the main part is the protein. In any event, my chicken was made fresh and overall, the bowl was tasty. The weird part was that it was a little after 1 PM and I was the only customer in the restaurant. With that, I had to read the Yelp reviews to see if there was something I should know about...after reading a few of them, I believe where their downfall might be is the overall customer experience. The place was clean, but it doesn't have a friendly vibe. The gal that gave me my bowl was pretty nice, though. However the phone was busy, as a matter of fact it was busy the whole 15 minute drive there, I figured they were very busy. When I arrived the entire restaurant was empty except for the cashier at the register. As I approached the register she left to the back without a word. She then comes back with a man and they are both standing at the registers speaking to each other and totally ignoring me. I was so excited to walk in and see that they had gotten the salads my daughter told me about! Amazing salads. I had the Asian salad. Edward one of the cooks told me he was cooking fresh chicken if I didn't mind the wait. Who wouldn't wait for anything fresh. I took my salad out to the patio to enjoy the sun, but I really think I enjoyed the salad more. I licks my bowl clean. Best salad ever. I will be here often.
