I wanted to update my previous review with my most recent visit and change my review. My experience tonight was extremely different and wanted to give a shout out to the franchise or owner of this business "Waba Grill" in Covina. I felt the young Hispanic worker was professional, courteous and very friendly. I didn't see many workers but it didn't appear to be busy either. I was greeted with a smile and felt uncertain going inside due to my previous experience, where I felt completely opposite. I want to thank the team/owner and management for making this experience different and enjoyable that I will remember for next time. The food was hot & with excellent flavor. I will continued to visit this particular Waba Grill in Covina. I'm hoping my previous experience was a fluke and can continue to serve with excellence as I experience tonight. Thank you, read more

Food & service here is fine but jesus this place stinks so bad. Smells like a sewer in here and makes eating here completely unappealing. I've seen reviews mention the smell for over a year and they still haven't fixed it. Normally I wouldn't rate so low just based on smell but the fact that it hasn't been fixed for so long makes it clear that they don't care much :( read more

We were in your restaurant today and bought your family meal for four people. It was awful. The time was about 3:45 PM. The ribeye was just little pieces diced up and dried up with way too much of the sauce so it taste like dried up candy Not like meat. It was uneditable. The vegetables were undercooked way undercooked I like al dente vegetables, but this was way undercooked. The rice was OK. The chicken was dry. It's been a couple years since I've been in one of your restaurants. The quality has gone downhill or is it just this branch? I don't know. Are you serving food from the night before? I tried calling, but nobody picks up and you're not set up to take recordings. I would like to know area you going out of business and you just using up the old scraps? I am so highly disappointed. Plus, I am so embarrassed for you. I just read what WaBa Grill write about their own cooking that every order is grilled individually. Ours were not it took them two minutes from the time we put in the order to. We walked out the door with the order. We even asked them how long would it take and they said it's it's ready we have it here. Prepared ahead of time, not individually cooked per order. Here at 10:10. Not open two days in a row not opened past the time of when they open, lady comes late every day. Nothing is done , if the doors open at 10 but don't take My order for another 10 Mins. I would assume they come earlier to set up before they open. read more

I have so many mixed feelings. I feel bad because I love the staff. They're always so nice, respectful, polite and easy going. The food quality is not the same. I was going to leave a good review but my mom made the comment "they went cheap on their lettuce" and I read other reviews too about their lettuce so I'd have to agree. It's not mixed greens anymore either. Every time I get their avocado I regret it too. I don't really come here much anymore but my mom orders from here a lot. The meat is dry and I always thought that was a waba grill thing and they're known for that but I guess I just go to all the bad ones. And the smell. I look past it every time and I have no idea what causes it or how to describe it but yeah it's not very pleasant. I think it's lightened up over the past few months but it's still there. Anyways great customer service and not so great food but if you just need to eat something go here. The low rating is not for the food, it's pretty good, and I've never had any issues with it. And when I am inside I don't usually have any issues with service. The main issue is that this location has a tendency to lock their doors 10 to 15 minutes before closing time. I don't point this out from a solitary experience, no, this is a regular occurrence at this location. Also, there may be a plumbing issue at this location because there is a smell of sewage inside the dining area. Smells to me of very dirty mop water. But since I smell it during most visits, leads me to believe it may be something beyond their control. And if not, then it might be time to change that mop water. read more

The only reason I come to this Waba store is because is close to my house however, I've had it with this establishment. Every time I order food from here it has been the worst and I end up throwing most of it away. I kept coming here thinking next experience would be better but it doesn't change, I always get either day old steak or chicken or.. chicken and steak that has been sitting at the bottom of the tray for the whole day or two... the taste is disgusting, the owner should eat an order of mine, he or she would feel the same way, very rarely I get fresh meat or a fresh order. Came here for dinner with my bro and his kids. I like that they have salads now, which I got. There was some special about buying two bowls for 10.99, so my bro and family got that. It was maybe an hour before closing time. Tables were kind of dirty so we just wiped them ourselves. Food was pretty good for the price and staff was friendly. Ordered from here a few times via DoorDash. Every single time I ordered, ALWAYS missing something. Whether it be the waba sauce, the green onion, or the AVOCADO. Which you have to pay for! This location has workers that love to close up shop ahead of time before closing. When you come in 15 minutes prior, they tell you they're unable to cook several things. That's not how life works. Came in after a workout at 10:50AM. Waba grill is always I choice I'd reccomend to anyone. A good quick somewhat healthy meal, as long as you don't drown the chicken in that teriyaki sauce. As for the store and staff itself. Store is clean, but some of the staff isn't too friendly and the store wasn't fully open. Some chairs are still up on the tables. I'd pick another location if I wasn't so hungry. Good quick bite, but I'd go to another waba grill if you like what they offer. read more

On Friday, 7/7 I placed a phone order ahead of time, went to pick up 11:30, paid for my order with the cashier. she didn't mention there was going to be a delay with my order. I then noticed two people working on some equipment in the food prep area. The cashier continued taking orders and never mentioned they were having issues. It seemed no one was working on pick up orders. I noticed a few bowls out with rice and no one was working on them. 20 minutes later I'm still waiting. They finally gave me my bowl they didn't give me correct order. asked for missing vegetables and the cashier said I didn't ask for vegetables but the Waba bowl comes w chicken rice vegetables ‍ and instead of fixing my order she gave out the 5 orders behind me. I asked for a refund and she told me she needed manager who was working on equipment. After 5 minutes I asked if manager was coming? She said she's working on equipment but I could see her and she could see I was there waiting. The manager ignored me when i was calling on her and she completely ignored me. The cashier finally gave me refund. the manager never came out to apologize or explain. read more

It could be the Covid delivery chaos, but this customer service person mistakenly gave away my food to someone else for delivery. My receipt clearly says PICKUP.
