I personally enjoy Ono. It is a great spot to through in the mix of take out or lunch stops when you need something different. Food is always pretty good and I cant get over the Mac Salad. Staff is standard for this type of establishment. Vibe is open modern with a touch of Hawaiian feel. Overall a great stop.

Kalbi Short Ribs

The yellow and blue interiors evoke images of the sea. Very cutesy and inviting. The decor is minimal but useful. The staff is friendly and the food is great. We got 2 kalbi short ribs and 1 garlic white fish for $54. Not bad! In this economy, that's amazing value for money.

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate, $11.99 prior to tax

This Ono Hawaiian BBQ eatery is located in the same plaza at Barnes & Noble and Victoria Secrets. They are on the opposite side and much closer to Sam's Club. My husband and I made online orders to pick up our meals this past Monday. My husband made his own order and I ordered the following for both my mother and I to share: Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate, $11.99 prior to tax- I figured my mom would prefer a grilled version of chicken, so I ordered this with her in mind. This entree comes with a large portion of chicken, three scoops of steamed white rice and a side of salad that is mostly shredded cabbage, carrots, purple onion and lettuce. Both my mom and I really liked the chicken and so did my husband (since he ordered a plate too). The salad was nice and hearty. I liked the flavor of it and prefer a green salad to be made with cabbage so that is can last for another day. Chicken Katsu Plate, $11.99 prior to tax- I ordered this for myself, which came with a lot of chicken. It also came with three scoops of steamed white rice and salad. If you want Katsu sauce or teriyaki sauce, you can fill up the plastic cups with them by the pick up area. I thought the chicken was pretty good. My mom also likes the chicken. The white rice for both this plate and the other one was cooked perfectly. --------------------------- (Total= $26.44 after tax) Our meals were ready when we came in. But we did wait a minute or two since the employee at the register, had her back towards us since she was looking at the kitchen. I think she may have been waiting for an order to be completed so she could pack it. The portion of food is quite a lot, which really surprised me. With these two plates, it could easily serve 3- 4 people (and yes we had leftovers). I have definitely underestimated Ono Hawaiian BBQ and would definitely consider ordering from them again in the future.

Spam musubi

Ono Hawaiian BBQ has Perfectly delicious Hawaiin plate  menu. The quantity is always huge and the taste is exceptional! I ordered the Island White Aloha plate and the Crispy Shrimp Aloha plate. Both of them were scrumptious and appetizing, and their sauce will add a nice kick to the flavor. I also orderd their crispy Crab Rangoon which is one of my favorite there. The place is always clean. It is busy with customers whenever you go , In addition to numerous pickup orders. The service is always fast despite their busyness. It is really a nice place to stop at and enjoy the savory food, fast and friendly service plus the affordable price.

My katsu chicken. Really dry & kind of hard!

Last time I went the meal was excellent and it was bbq chx version of Ono Keikei meal. This time, not so good. Ordered Katsu instead. OMG! Dry and nasty as heck!! Do NOT order the Katsu from here! Bleah! It was also the most miniscule serving of rice ever. I know it's a kids meal but there was a big space in the box. They could have easily given a bit more rice. The young woman at the counter was nice enough but management needs to clue their teams in about offers. She did not know about the online meal offer. This is why I got the KeiKei meal. No clear info on the $7 meal offer.

We always seem to get out of the house in that weird time of day between lunch and dinner. Too late and yet too early to eat something but - so musubi has become our go to snack when out and about. Ever the foodie my daughter chose a young coconut as her drink...and it was good, refreshing, and somewhere between savory and lightly sweet -- enough to hydrate and refresh at the same time. Service was prompt and the restaurant was tidy and clean. The musubi didn't disappoint- the rice was fresh, fluffy, and sticky; the spam was perfectly savory with slightly crispy edges. *chefs kiss*.

As a fast food chain my expectations were low. I was very hungry, far from home and didn't want to spend a lot of money at a steakhouse or expensive restaurant. This day I think my iron was low because I was I was strongly craving beef but not a burger or anything like that. I decided to check Ono Hawaiian out since they claimed to have short ribs. 9.5 out of 10 only because they were tough close to the bone. But for the most part they were tender, flavorful, and a decent portion at a decent price. For 15 bucks I got a full dinner meal of short ribs, steamed cabbage, rice and macaroni salad that was freshly made. I was pleasantly surprised. I was really impressed with the macaroni salad because most chains serve premade when it comes to cole slaw or macaroni salad and has a bitter tattle and mushy texture. This was close to my mom and grand moms Mac salad. It was clean and plenty of seating and my order was hot and ready by the time I came from washing my hands. I will certainly order again.

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Mini Meal

Hadn't been in a while, went in and the ladies at the counter were friendly and inviting wasn't too busy, food came out at a decent pace. The chicken katsu was good and the bbq chicken was tender. The beef was alright just a little stringy. Sauces tasted great, and the hot sauce was good. We came in because of a handed out coupon for a bowl / mini meal

Nice, clean and large location. Employees are very friendly and helpful and the real reason why I was her was the food. The food is soooo good and fresh. No matter what you order, as each dish will definitely leave you craving a second serving IF the first serving didn't fill you up which is rare.

These two ribs were hidden underneath the 3rd good rib with meat. Look at how much fat to meat portion.
Jennie W.

If I could only put zero stars, then I would. It's funny how whoever prepared the food put half a scoop of each rice, half scoop of macaroni salad. And the meat that was served was half fat. It is not edible. And I would like to know which ever cook cooked this if they would feed that to their family or kids? Would they eat that? Also, the fact that I know the front cashier is supposed to double check the food I'm surprised they didn't notice how skimpy they scooped the rice and the macaroni salad. I've been coming here for a long time and every single time I order the ribs, they never get it right it's either too burned or too fatty. I'm pretty sure it's not about throwing away food, but they need to start bringing it up to upper management or something because that's not right serving the customers this. I cannot comment about the ambience since I did not eat, and it was a to go order.

My order said no rice mac salad on one veges ok. $38 for not reading comments!!! Shame on you Ono!!!

The beef patties were overly dry, and there was barely any gravy, which made the whole dish feel pretty unsatisfying. The mac salad was good, but overall the meal didn't feel worth the $16-$18 price point. That said, I do plan on coming back because the musubis really are that good. I'll just stick to what they do best or try something different next time. Parking is super easy since it's in a shopping area that never seems too busy, which is always a plus.

The menu is pretty large and they also offer a catering menu. There are many kinds of appetizers like cheesy fries with your choice of protein, and many varieties of musubis. They also sell noodles (noodle soups and garlic noodles) as well as tacos. It was a Tuesday so I decided to try their daily special Fried Chicken Plate with mac salad. I also ordered the HoAloha Chicken Mix Plate with green salad. Both plates come with 2 scoops of rice. Food was ok, but I've honestly had better Hawaiian food. First thing I noticed was that the rice they serve is jasmine rather than the Calrose rice that is usually served with Hawaiian food. Some people don't care, but I'm kind of a rice nerd. It's like using basmati rice in your sushi. You can argue that it's still rice, but it's weird. The fried chicken was hit or miss. Some pieces were good, some were dried out and hard. The sauce that came with it was good. The mac salad was very slippery compared to other Hawaiian mac salads I've had. I kept dropping it everytime I tried to have a bite. The texture and taste reminds me of the mac salad that comes in the tub from the deli at the market. As for the chicken mix plate, the Katsu was pretty thin and dry also. The Katsu sauce was weak - very watery and tasteless. The BBQ chicken was pretty good however. For some good BBQ chicken in the area, I'd rather go around the corner to Jinza.

The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. As for the food, their fish and chips are hands down the best I've had. Some items were delicious; others were lacking in flavor or had an "unusual" taste. The dining area is a decent size, it was clean, and there is plenty of parking in the shopping center's lot. FOOD: We ordered a varied selection from the menu. Some items, Breaded Shrimp ($7.95), Smoky Seared Ahi Tuna ($20,95), and Ocean House Halibut ($33.95) were very tasty, but the Ahi Tuna Grilled, served rare ($18.95), Clam Chowder ($9.95), and Seafood Bisque ($10.95) were only okay. I mentioned an unusual taste, not bad, but the flavors of the chowder and the bisque were different than I've had at other seafood restaurants. I tried their Thai Iced Tea ($5.25) which was good. Overall, we felt that this dinner experience could have been better, but I would be willing to pay them a second visit and try some different menu items.
