Not knowing any roofers, we looked on Yelp and found favorable reviews for Evansen Builders. (The Better Business Bureau gives them an A+ rating.) With 5 star reviews, a competitive price, and a salesman who responded very quickly to any phone call or text from us, we chose Evansen. Shingles and other materials were delivered the day before. On the day of our project, the large Evansen crew started at 7am with a complete tear off. Roofing boards were repaired as needed. Ice and water barrier, etc. were installed along with new metal in the valleys, which were our problem areas. 50-year Owens-Corning Duration dimensional shingles went on top. They also put a new roof on our detached garage. The cleanup was absolutely perfect and they were finished by sunset. Everyone on the well-organized crew had a task to, knew how to do it and kept at it till the job was done. I was impressed. A few days later, another Evansen crew came to install new larger capacity rain gutters and downspouts on our house and garage. They followed all my requests to a T. I would highly recommend Evansen Builders.

The roofers came super early (6:30am) and were done by 3pm. They were good about cleaning and using the magnet to check the yard for nails. They poly jacked it and couldn't quite get it right but it was at least level. That settled in a few months, they came back and did it again and it settled again so I just ignored it. 5 years later our basement flooded so we decided to try level headed mudjackers. Sam is a true professional and I'm really upset we didn't use them the first time! The poly jacking actually caused the patio to seize up and sam couldn't get them to raise. Instead of just leave it he can out, jackhammered 20' of concrete and repoured new slabs and holy crap does it look great. He did this for a VERY reasonable amount more than the original amount and put a ton more work into it to make it right. I couldn't be happier and so glad I found these guys!! Not many contractors care like Sam did, couldn't recommend these guys enough!

I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. Most importantly, the real estate agent was able to tell prospective buyers that the roof was going to be repaired and we were under contract to have it completed. Thanks Buck Remodeling! Our project was a…read moresimple interior staircase and we were told they use all their own people and their contract Terms stated 90 days to complete the project. First of all their own people are designers and project managers, all labor is done by sub-contractors. Unless you are assigned their "A" team be very concerned because we initially were not and spent 4 miserable months under poor project management and poor carpentry work which had to be torn out twice. Nothing was installed to code twice and the railing was only held in place by three nails. During these first 4 months there was not one minute of work done one whole month. Finally executive management visited our home and immediately said to tear out everything and proceeded to change the project manager and assigned their No. 1 project manager, carpenter, painter and carpet installer. In just over another month because of minor problems we have a finished project. Total project took 98 days (only Mon-Fri counts) so we asked for price concessions since it exceeded the contract of 90 days and we are paying over $30,000. They conceded like $300 and said the delays were largely because of scheduling sub-contractors through a very busy 2022 fall. Of course there is wordage in the contract they can quote. It would have been a big risk on our part to go to court and possibly shelling out even more money to cover that expense. Definitely a terrible experience.
