    The W

My partner and I visited town to celebrate our friend's daughter's 1st birthday. We stayed at The W in downtown Seattle, a very convenient location close to Pike Place and several restaurants we had bookmarked and wanted to try. The hotel staff provided exceptional customer service, thoroughly explaining everything during our check-in. My partner had booked the stay using one of his reward cards, which also included free tickets to the Seattle Great Wheel--an added bonus. Overall, I highly recommend The W, and we definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit.

Stayed a couple of nights, this W really went downhill in the past decade or so. Dated rooms with cheap "tree print" vinyl on walls, walls and paper thin - the elevator equipment kept me up all night. When I called and asked whether my room was next to the elevator equipment I was told they ALL are - each room surrounds the elevator shaft so you keep hearing the gears and pulleys even with earplugs in. Very basic setup - basic toiletries without amenities like cotton balls or q tips, teeny tiny Nespresso machine with a $5 water next to it for your morning coffee. Valet only parking for $75, there are no nightlights anywhere. And the view - that was the most disappointing part. The W was an iconic hotel exuding luxury. Now it feels like a quirky cheap motel.

Had a peaceful one night stay. Centrally located in downtown Seattle with modern facilities. The best part of my stay was actually the food at the in house restaurant Trace. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, avocado toast, and drinks. I loved that the avocado toast had black beans - really added a unique flavor profile to an otherwise standard dish. The kimchi fried rice was also hearty and comforting. The matcha latte came in a huge mug and was high quality

This is a hip hotel.within walking distance of Pike Place Market. It's very cool and modern. There's even a bar on the 1st floor. That doubles as a low-key nightclub.

This is a wonderful hotel. Amenities are plentiful, and they have a great touch. The staff genuinely wants to make your stay as pleasant as possible. This includes both the wait staff, who went above and beyond for a colleague with food allergies, and the engineering staff, who provided a solution for transporting meeting materials for our presentation. Highly recommended!

If you are Bonvoy elite member, look for another place to stay to place. This hotel decides for you that your welcome benefits will be points instead of breakfast. Upon checking in I had to ask and was told that I could have a breakfast benefit instead, so I agreed to use the breakfast benefit. After my stay i noticed that credit wasn't applied and called the hotel. They apologized and said the credit would be applied in a couple of days. No credit was ever provided.

Sleek and captivating bar interior! Always love the ambiance at the W Hotels. Espresso Martini (Mocha) was super tasty, creamy and sweet but strong. Great bar service, I'd love to come back to try another drink

Old croissant that was like a rock

The hotel is beautiful - love it; but the cafe is a hit or miss. Today, the day old croissant was a total miss; and sadly - the service was rude.

    View as described. Loved it.

There's only a small area for parking in front of the hotel and it's also the spot for Valet. You'll likely have to post up in the travel lane to check in or drop off your car. The hotel has some unique amenities but I wasn't able to use them for such a short stay. The King corner room far exceeded my expectations. It's spacious and felt pretty luxurious. The star of the room is the soaking tub. It's deep and the water is hot. I especially liked that there's a separate shower. The workspace is nice and there are plenty of plugs for everything. The Nespresso comes stocked and is free to use. The mini bar, not so much, and it's pretty pricy. The bed. THE BED! If I could have brought it home with me I would have. It's lush and it smelled good. Like fresh dryer sheets good. I don't think I've ever said that about a hotel bed before. If you need a firm bed you won't like this one. I didn't have much interaction with the staff but when I did it was pleasant. I am definitely staying here again.

Also went to a free yoga class in one of the conferene rooms . . . nice little perk but the lights were too bright and the instructor did not know how to turn down the bright lights (not quite yoga mood). Gym location is not great - below basement so it's small and without any natural light. Because I often use Hyatt points, I find I am usually placed in a room very close to and facing another building/ parking garage . . . making the room very dark and without any view. Sigh . . . so make sure to ask the front desk if you can get a room that doesn't face another building that feels like it's 8 feet away. Arel was kind enough to take the time to find me a better room that was available the next day. Thank you!

I booked it partly because it's part of Hilton's Tapestry Collection, so I could earn and redeem Hilton Honors points. That was a huge plus since I was visiting during the World Cup and hotel prices were absolutely wild: close to $800 a night if I had paid out of pocket! The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. There was a bellman opening the door, everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating, and it was always easy to grab an Uber right outside the hotel. One feature I really liked was the little pantry in the lobby. It's basically a self-service convenience store stocked with local candy, snacks, wine, beer, and other treats. You scan everything yourself and can charge it directly to your room, which was super convenient. We used our HHonors stay credit to buy a small bottle of Washington State wine and some local chocolates. The hotel has a really fun music theme throughout, and the design is modern with a Scandinavian-inspired feel. As a Gen Xer, I thought the vibe was just plain cool without trying too hard. Our standard King room had huge windows, a spacious sitting area, and clean, minimalist European-style décor that felt fresh and comfortable. The hotel itself was also surprisingly quiet despite being located in an urban area, so we slept really well. The only disappointment was our view. It wasn't much to look at. I was secretly hoping for an upgrade, but no luck. Not a deal breaker, just a minor letdown considering one side of the hotel affords perfect views of the Space Needle. The location is excellent for sightseeing on foot. We walked to Pike Place Market in about 10 minutes, and the Space Needle was also around a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction. Just be prepared for Seattle's hills! They're no joke, and you'll be going up and down some very, very steep streets to get to the waterfront. There are also plenty of great restaurants, bars, shops, and coffee shops within easy walking distance. One thing I'd mention is that while we felt comfortable during the day, after dinner around 10:45 p.m. we decided to take an Uber back from the Pike Place Market area instead of walking back to the hotel because parts of the area felt a little sketchy at night. Seattle has a very serious problem with drug users and unhoused folks, and they can get a little scary. I feel so badly for them, but I also felt a lot safer in an Uber than trying to walk back in the downtown area that late at night. The Sound is a stylish, comfortable hotel with excellent service, a great location, and a fun personality. If you're a Hilton Honors member, it's an especially solid choice when Seattle hotel prices are high.

The Hotel occupies the first 10 floors of the ARRIVE Building where the floors above are dedicated to the residents and they share the common areas with the hotel guests. Upon arriving at the front desk, I checked in and was told the room would be ready shortly but it was more like 4 hours later. I found the front desk staff to be professional but not very friendly. There is a lounge area on the 7th floor with a bar and indoor / outdoor seating. At night it is particularly nice because there is an electric fire pit with great seating and view of the Space Needle. Again, the bar staff was professional but not very welcoming. The room we stayed in was a corner room but it only had one windows on one wall so the room stayed pretty dark. It was comfortable and cool with very good bedding. The bathroom was great and it even had a heated floor. Check-out was okay eventhough they had to adjust our bill because we were not credited our Hilton Honors credit for both of us in the room which took a while. It seems that the ride share car services wait outside the hotel on cruise ship mornings so getting a car takes only a minute or two. I would stay at this property again with hopes for a more welcoming staff.

Our last two nights of our journey were spent in Seattle at the Shafer Baillie mansion. I would highly recommend staying here. The location was great for getting to downtown and all around. It is close to the Cap Hill neighborhood with shops and restaurants. There is plenty of street parking in the vicinity. The mansion itself is part of what was known as Millionaire's Row. It was built in 1914 and has been well cared for over the years. When we came back from one evening out, we all gathered in the Library and set up some charcuterie and wine to share from our travels. It was so cozy sitting all together and chatting about our adventures. The rooms are historic with modern conveniences. Our room was the Queen Ann Hill. We slept soundly in our comfortable 4 poster bed. There was a helpful step stool for me to climb up as I am vertically challenged. It has original pushbotton light switches. It had a beautiful full length mirror. There was a flatscreen TV, but we had so many wonderful activities we did not use it. The bathroom was updated but still fit with the historic look. There were two showerheads in the tiled shower. Breakfast was lovely. I, personally, have a great deal of food allergies. There was ample selection that I was able to enjoy just as much as anyone else. There were breads and pastries, jams and spreads, yogurt and fresh berries, and a hot breakfast dish. Hard boiled eggs were available as well as cheeses and meats. There was a coffee bar that was available all day that also had tea and cocoa. We sat at the long dining table enjoying each others company and conversation. We got to meet some of the other guests which added to the experience. If we find ourselves back in Seattle, this is where I will want to stay.

The greeters always opened the door for me, the check-in desk staff were courteous and always had a smile, and the checkout process was also quick and ended with an invitation to return to the property the next time I'm in Seattle. As soon as I stepped out of my Uber upon initial arrival, a staff member walked up to open my door and asked if I needed help with my bags. My room was comfortable in every aspect. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch. In general, every staff member I encountered was pleasant, eager to help, and always smiled and made eye contact when speaking with me. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and have no complaints. This property is one of the top 2-3 Four Seasons hotels I have stayed at over the past several years. This hotel is an excellent choice for those wanting to stay in a waterfront property that's walkable to the cruise terminal as well. Though Four Seasons is not the most cost effective option for a comfortable hotel in downtown Seattle, I highly recommend this hotel based on my recent experience in June 2025. Where to start.... Location, location, location! The hotel is literally a block away from the entrance to Pike Place Market where you can spend days shopping, snacking, and enjoying the views of the water. The views from the hotel room are breathtaking as the Great Wheel (Ferris wheel) and Aquarium are just a few minutes away by foot. From the Four Seasons, we were able to walk to Chinatown in under 30 min (you can also take the train just 2 stops down) and Seattle Center where the Space Needle is located is also walkable and also accessible via monorail. The staff greets you at the door every time you enter and exit, and the lobby is full of surprises like premium coffee and tea in the mornings and a candy bar in the afternoon. Every time our room was serviced, it was done to perfection and then some. The chat function on the app was amazing as I was able to make requests and ask questions with ease. Responses were close to immediate. At the front desk and concierge, staff are also very friendly and treated us with respect and honor. They also provided great advice for food and sightseeing options close by. They never tried to sell me stuff where they would make money off of it. I could go on and on, but I have to say that my family's experience was extremely memorable, and if I could give this place 6 stars, I would. If you're looking for the optimal location for breathtaking views, seconds away from Pike Place Market, and still walkable to the Space Needle, Chinatown, the Convention Center, etc., this is it, y'all!
