I got a number of responses and a lot of them were things I didn't even think I would need but found extremely useful. I haven't done a half marathon in almost 10 years and I forgot how important it was to properly fuel myself for endurance runs. These days nutrition and electrolyte tabs aren't cutting it for me anymore. I don't want to hit a wall once I start hitting the 8-10 mile marker so energy gels have been helping me push through with ease and REI has plenty of them. They mostly carry the GU brand and HoneyStinger. I've been trying out flavors and found a couple that I like. REI despite their items being on the pricier side have great selection and quality gear. I was able to get everything I needed in prep for race day. I didn't encounter any issues with staff. It felt more like, "We'll leave you alone unless you need something." I'm totally fine with that. It's an upscale comprehensive sporting goods store with a good amount of items in stock. I was actually impressed with the women's shoe selection. They had more HOKAs in stock compared to Road Runner Sports in Wilmette. I know I could've easily gotten HOKAs online but I'm the type (especially when it comes to apparel and shoes) to want to test items out in person for fit. Had I known they had better availability with more colors in stock, I would've bought my shoes here. REI is granola and you'll need to bring your own bag to shop. They are officially bagless and no longer provide single-use shopping bags at checkout. Parking is easy since it's nestled within a strip mall. I was able to get a spot in front with no issues.

Their demeanor noticeably changed after they realized we were adults. There was also an attitude while we were checking out. My photographic memory told me that I've passed by The Locker Room on the way to some restaurants on Central St. The Locker Room is located directly across from Ryan Field. Currently, there are many off-season apparel, accessories, and gadgets on sale. Once we walked into the actual store, the space was quite cramped and hard to maneuver. However, they were well-stocked and had massive inventories. A older gentleman with a suit was the store attendant. He was very friendly and helpful with Dad's searches for short and long sleeve t-shirts. Dad thought the large size would fit, but they did run small. However, the sweatshirts were true to size. In the end, Dad walked away with one (1) sweatshirt, one (1) short-sleeve t-shirt, one (1) long-sleeve t-shirt, and one (1) cap for $125.31. I thought the price was fair for these four (4) items that would normally cost somewhere between $150 to $200. I'm not really familiar with other NW souvenir shops around, but I would recommend this place if you're looking for everything NW (but they won't beat Wisconsin)!

They kept the store closed to just those who took the class, so it was a nice private shopping event. The store itself was clean and laid out nicely. There isn't a huge variety of colors on items, however leggings there are boundless options. I ended up purchasing an off the shoulder sweatshirt from seeing it on a mannequin. The manager helped suggest the size and when it did fit perfectly. You have 90 days to return/exchange should you change your mind (don't cut the tags unless you're sure). I like that they didn't pressure you to do their monthly $59.95/month subscription. I also think that it's great that this store continues to support the local fitness community.
