We both figured they were busy so that is why. Today we went and same thing! No hello, no acknowledgement from anyone including the owner! Before we left my daughter said goodbye to everyone and to have a great day. No one replied. We didn't want to cause a scene, so my daughter immediately called and spoke with the owner herself. It is funny for someone who has been a business owner for over 60 years should know basic customer service. She kept saying "I was not there, I was not there". I needed to leave a review regardless on BOTH yelp and google even though my daughter spoke to the owner. Just don't waste your time going here.. rude people and not that great of a selection.

At one point i realized the returns were costing me more in return fees and time so her closet is bursting with white dresses and she still hadn't found "the one." Then one day she said that her friends had a lot of luck finding a "designer" white dress at Gigi's Closette and we should make an appointment. I clarified that designer didn't mean Prada and was more along the lines of Amanda Uprichard so that it was in our budget and made an appointment for a Friday afternoon. I could see why we needed an appointment because there were sooo many girls coming in looking for graduation dresses and other occasions. They had a great rack of white dresses and my daughter found one immediately. It had a slit she didn't love, but the seamstress was also there and said she could easily close it up for us. Done! I then had to make another appointment for a few weeks later to pick up the dress. Beyond the rack of white dresses their clothes weren't really our style, although i did spy some Generation Love clothing that was super cute. They also had some great jewelry and my daughter walked out with a bubble initial necklace and some cute hoops. And we bought a necklace for her friends bday. They keep a running list of the dresses the girls all buy so no one shows up in the same dress. We were the only people from Glencoe so didn't really matter for us (and personally i think all these white dresses look the same), but helpful if your daughter goes to a school and they all shop here.

However, as we did recently, we did visit this one as it had an item in stock that the wife was looking for that the Morton Grove store didn't. Kohl's is a chain that we shop at with some regularity as they have good values and promotions, especially kiddo stuff, and oh boy, shopping for kiddos seems to be this grandma's full time job lol. She also likes ordering items online and then picking up locally. The self pickup service is very quick, convenient, and handy. In fact, it's so handy and staff independent, I wondered if there is ever a theft problem, but hopefully the honor system works on these sort of personal items that really are't worth trying to steal. The online ordering and self pickup system has resulted in us having visited the Kohl's stores in Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, and Vernon Hills as well and they are all fine, clean, and bright stores also.

Even though the shoes didn't ring up with the price on the box, she make the adjustment without any issues. In addition, she was savvy enough to know how to make split a credit card payment when using one of those annoying Visa gift cards and a regular credit card. Usually when those two issues occur, you get stuck in line forever - but with her it was a breeze!

Honestly, this store does have some beautiful items; I especially like some of their sweaters. Many of the clothes aren't particularly form-fitting, which could be where "old lady" reputation comes from. This is a good place to stock up on some basics, especially during sales. There are some excellent deals to be had. In fact, I just scored a great deal on a long black velvet skirt and a dressy top (needed for my husband's post-holiday holiday work party). Not only were both items heavily discounted, but were an additional 50% off. Got an outfit for $30. And holy vanity sizing, Batman! I gotta give props because this must be the only store on the planet where I fit into an XS petite top (and that top was form-fitting - no old lady look for me!).
