BEST DESIGNER/SEAMSTRESS in Chicagoland After ordering/returning 7 ill-fitting, hideous fabric, long black gowns from Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue & Bergdorf's I was in a terrible bind... 11 days before my Son's Wedding without a dress. Shocking coming from these once meticulous, prideful merchants. Size 18 too small. Size 14 swam on me. Size 16 might as well been a 4. Fabric so plastic, heavy & cheap... one was actually called "scuba fabric" (foam rubber like a child's craft project). Worst part, the merchants have the audacity to charge $500-2000 for such garbage How fortunate for me to find Alecia I took my own sketch, a similar photo of what I wanted, and a pic of beautiful, black Ostrich Feathers. Alecia sketched until the rendering was EXACTLY what I dreamed of. Alecia took my measurements, ordered the black velvet & feathers (many designers make you shop for your own fabrics/trimmings/zippers etc.) AND promised it would be done before the wedding. UNHEARD OF Fast forward... (and often working through the night) THE MOST BEAUTIFUL dress you can imagine delivered JUST before the wedding, AS PROMISED Every guest at the wedding said it was the most elegant dress they had ever seen, some said I Hollywood has NOTHING on me. AND I FELT SOOOO PRETTY in itPerfect fitting, rich fabric, in a lovely hanging bag with a lint roller. I felt like a Queen. And the wedding pictures, I am just thrilled with. Because of my profession, and also base on the fact that I am attending a lot of different ceremony, banquets, business meetings and so on, it happened that I used different similar studios in many locations. You have to know that the quality of tuxedos, jackets, pens, formal shirts, bow ties, vests, picket squares, shoes and much more, are extremely important to me. To be honest, quality of clothing is very crucial for me and the most important criteria when comes to choosing this type of Studio. I was on the business trip when I come across the Seagull Studio Boutique in Buffalo Grove in Illinois. I was more then happy, well extremely satisfied when I walk in to Seagull. I did experience very helpful and nice staff. They were very knowledgeable about fashion and they could advice very well. I have to mention that atmosphere in the Studio was very friendly. I knew right the way that I am in the right place for my needs. I rented designer Ralph Lauren tuxedo for black tie event. That was about month ago. It was great and I was very happy. I am not in to women fashion for obvious reason but the variety and quality of these dresses were stunning. They were beautiful and very well designed with a lot of creativity. I bought my wedding dress at House of Brides in Schaumburg, IL and after the fiasco that was, I no longer trusted them to do the alterations I needed for my dress. My sister in law recommended Alesia C Studio and I was amazed that Alesia said we could get the alterations done in time for my wedding, even though the dress came in 19 days before my wedding day. I was able to set up an appointment two days after picking up my dress. Alesia was extremely nice and professional. She explained what I would need for alterations and how much it would cost to shorten the hem a couple of inches. She then helped me find a second option that would cost a lot less than having to take off all of the lace work to shorten my dress and then having to sew it all back on again. Throughout the whole process, I never once felt pressure to pick the more expensive option of shortening my dress and in the end I was thrilled with what I chose. I rented a petticoat from the studio so that we did not need to shorten my dress and ended up saving a lot of money in doing so. I would highly recommended Alesia C Studio to anyone who needs alterations or would like a custom dress. Alesia calmed all my nerves about getting alterations done in time and done properly. I received quotes from 3 or 4 alterations places and as soon as I walked in Alesia's bridal salon, I knew she would be the one to work on my dress. Just glancing around the room at all the dresses she was currently working on told me that people trusted her. In addition to basic alterations, Alesia creates her own dresses from scratch! I was lucky enough to be able to see some of her work first hand and it is absolutely breathtaking. The alteration appointments were very quick and to the point. Each time I went in, the dress fit and looked better and better. Alesia was easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and has Tons years of experience. There were a couple of times I had to reschedule my appointments last minute due to my work schedule or I was running a bit late, but it was no issue for her. Bat Mitzvah Dream dress: If you are looking for top quality, reasonable pricing and an amazing, creative and talented seamstress you should look no further. My daughter being only 12 could not find dresses that even came close to what she wanted and all would have needed major alterations and still wouldn't have ever fit perfectly. Seagull Studio Boutique helped me custom design my wedding dress - we drew a design of the dress I wanted, picked out fabrics (French lace "Lace and Love" over French tulle fabric), and I added some finishing touches to the dress when it was done (silk flowers and jewels). The dress was custom fitted to my body - Alesia was helpful and made my dress lace up because I was losing some weight before my wedding day so that the dress would fit no matter how many pounds I lost. She also was able to finish my dress in a short time frame (a little over 1 month) - I have attached some pictures of the finished dress.
