Also, we called multiple shops and this one was the most reasonable in cost estimates. Out of all the shops we called, John was the most helpful and sincere over the phone. Most importantly, John listened very carefully to our questions, concerns, and ideas. We told John that our car smelled like gasoline and that we needed to find and fix the possible leak. Unlike other shops, John expressed concerned about gasoline-related hazards and our safety. Also, Carlos was nice to us and helped us set an appointment. So after setting an appointment, we brought our car in the morning and met John. John treated us like family from the start. He was very friendly and honest. Right away, he looked under the hood and explained to us what the problem was. He was patient with us and described fully what our issue was and what are options were. We needed to replace the Fuel Regulator. John tried to make it cost-effective for us and gave us a reasonable price. Although they had to order the part from Bridgeport, John got it quickly and worked on our car promptly. Our car issue was resolved and we are extremely happy! Finally, after having my car towed there for the second time, as arranged the day before, but hearing nothing 24 hours later, I called and was told simply and directly that my car's repair was "not a priority" for them. I understand that this shop has been beloved in Hamden for many years, but unfortunately something or somebody there must have changed. Route 80 Motors (supposedly located at 797 Foxon Rd, North Branford, CT) advertised a restored 1968 Mustang convertible that my son was interested in. Since I was in RI, and the car was in CT, he asked that I check it out since it was priced lower than anything he had seen. BTW, that vehicle is still listed. You would think such a hot item listed at $14,800.00 would be sold rather quickly. He lives in CO and probably would have tried to purchase this "vehicle" long distance. After more than a 2-hour drive to view the car, I got to the address listed on their website. However, it was a salvage yard. If you search for Route80-motors.com, you'll see a wonderfully crafted website with the address listed above. However, what you see at that address (salvage yard) is not what is pictured on the Internet. I spoke with a driver there, telling him I was there to look at the car. He stated, "there is no 68 Mustang here". He went on to say this wasn't the first time and that I was probably being scammed. I showed him the address, and the building I was at didn't match the photo at all. The Town Hall was nearby, so I stopped there and inquired only to learn that the business didn't seem to exist in that town. It might have been before, but not now! I called this guy named Lloyd back and asked twice what the correct address was, but he couldn't answer. He kept saying it was on the website, and that I could Google it. However, if you do a search, everything comes up with the address mentioned above. So, after a day completely shot, I never saw this guy, never got a straight answer, never found the place of business, nor did I see any Mustang. Fortunately for me, it never went any farther than another lesson to be very cautious and pay attention to those red flags. The photo clearly shows the name of the business, as does the website complete with the incorrect address. Further searches post all sorts of photos with so many smiling faces with their newly purchased vehicles. However, I didn't see any way to determine when the photos were taken. Although the website appears active, everything seems wrong and according to YELP, the business is closed. Be Careful!
