PART 2 OF 3 Posting on Behalf of Rett Adinolfi (as there is a character limit) 3/1/24 I went to "pickup" my M2, having been informed it was completed but the mirror caps have still not been installed. Upon walking the vehicle at the facility (remind you the car has now been in their possession for over a month and not left the facility) it was VERY apparent the car would not be coming home with me. Dust particles under the PPF, fuzz balls under the PPF, stretch marks in the PPF, untrimmed edges hanging in the PPF, bubbles in the tints and more. Astonished at the condition of the car, especially after telling John and the LAB team I was in no rush and how particular I am, I questioned how this was the condition "finished". John replied to me "this is the first time I am looking this closely"... THE CAR WAS LEFT FOR A MONTH TO BE RECHECKED It was at this point I SHOULD have towed the car out and not given them $1 however I chose to leave it to be redone. John passed communications off to their PPF applicator directly (Andy) who is also not a LAB employee rather a sub contractor they bring in. Andy was great and very transparent with me, informing me delays were due to the LAB not providing him with access to lifts/proper work space to apply the PPF. Stating their facility is "very dusty" and guys will be running grinders in the shop where he is trying to apply PPF. I spoke with John to see if my car could be brought to Andy's facility to be done in a "clean" environment when I was assured it would get a dedicated "spa" location to be worked on and done correctly. Now targeting a 3/22 pickup date, keeping in contact with both Andy and John and being VERY transparent with my expectations. "Please keep in touch on the status of the PPF, tints and mirror caps. Will be close to 2 months by the time this is completed, PLEASE make sure it is right this time before I come up". Delays continued, now pushing the projected pickup date into April. At this point I asked John to please have Gio (the owner) to reach out to me as I wanted to talk with him about my experience I had at his facility. After texting Gio that I would like to talk with him about my M2 that has been at his facility for 10 weeks I received a return text reading "What would you like to discuss with me personally? I don't have much time to get on a call as I never know how long they will go so I don't just take calls or make calls unless I know what its for". WOW... talk about an owner not caring about his customers... again 4/5/24 I went to get my car, being told it was "much better" (to be fair, it was) but not 100%. Andy wanted a break from working on it, I wanted to drive my car that I have now owned for 10 weeks and not driven yet and they wanted it to see "some sun/miles and be brought back in a month to correct anything else needed". Knowing I was going to get my car and NOT expecting it to be perfect, I picked up and left in my new car with a smile. Detailed videos of any/all issues present on the car were sent to John every step along the way in this process. The car was dropped back at the LAB on 5/17 after it had sat in the sun on every nice day and been driven several hundred miles (as requested). The car was "done" on 6/1 and left out front of the LAB with my keys locked in it, no John, Gio or Andy present to go over the "finished" condition of the car after what has now been a 4 month process. Not a single issue that was presented in the videos I had sent to John were addressed. There were still the same bubbles present that I had pointed out on 3/1 initial pickup date, spoiler still rattles around, stretch marks and dust particles in PPF and tints that looked like they were hand cut by a 3rd grader. At this point a video was sent to Gio of the comical condition of the car stating I would like a full refund and clearly the LAB will not be able to meet my expectations of work quality. PART 1 OF 3 Posting on Behalf of Rett Adinolfi (as there is a character limit) I am writing today to share my experience with Legends Auto Boutique (the LAB) in the hope that I can save others from the headaches and battles I have had. I am not one to write reviews but my experience has been far from smooth and unfortunately 6 months later my car is still not "right". I purchased a NEW 2024 BMW M2 that arrived in January 2024, being an employee at BMW of Bridgeport I received "dealer pricing" with several aftermarket facilities we work with. I received quotes from the LAB, Automobila and ACI Dynamix all of which were very comparable and opted to go with the LAB in hopes of making a connection with a new (to me) vendor. The facility is incredible and the social media presentation is great, a company I thought I would send all future clients to in need of aftermarket work. My BRAND NEW vehicle was brought to the LAB for full car PPF, installation of carbon fiber exterior package with PPF application to all Carbons, ceramic tints and ceramic coating. The car will be driven 1000 miles per year, never see the rain/snow and was brought with "no-rush" as it would not be driven until spring. I was informed the process should take around 2 weeks and then the vehicle would need to be returned in 2 additional weeks for a "recheck" of the installation for defects. I told my sales rep John that I would prefer to leave the vehicle at their facility for the additional 2 weeks to be inspected rather than trailering the vehicle back and forth from New Haven to Fairfield. 1/29/24 the vehicle was dropped off at the LAB, with no update received by 2/6 a follow up text was sent to John to check in. Update from John was "PPF will be finished today! Then we'll take care of the new badge, rear spoiler, ceramic coating and tint for you!". Two way conversation continued with John and I was informed "2/20 will give us plenty of time to continue inspecting and post heating all the edges" for pickup. Delays began at this point, with 2/20 coming and going. Pictures of my car were being blasted all over LAB media but my carbon mirror caps were still not installed. When I questioned John on this he told me "very fragile process that our friend from NY does for us", it was at this point that I began to question the ability of "the LAB" and realized that everything done at their facility is outsourced. I was a BMW technician for 8 years and the mirror caps can be changed in minutes with little effort... I even offered to go up and install them myself so I could pickup my car "completed". PART 3 OF 3 I held back writing this review sooner in hope that the LAB would make right on the situation, I was told to "go enjoy the car and drive it"... and now ghosted. I had 3 other PPF applicators look at my car in its "completed" condition and all have agreed that the PPF is NOT correct, the edges are lifting and will have moisture under them in months and the stretch marks/bubbles should not be present. After conversations with other facilities and applicators I decided I will no longer be having the LAB work on the car and will pursue the manufacturer warranty with another facility in hope that I will not have to come out of pocket with thousands of additional dollars. It was at this point that I realized I was only provided LAB warranty documentation, nothing from Stek or Suntek... I went back to the LAB on 7/15/24 to have John and Gio see the car in person and to get my warranty documents. When I got there, Gio was not there however they now had a NEW PPF applicator that was on site that day. The new applicator came to look at the car where he ALSO agreed the PPF was not installed correctly and many areas would be issues in the future with edges lifting and that bubbles should not be present. Funny enough, the LAB had told me for months there were no issues with my car and now THEIR applicator is saying there is... They were unable to provide ANY original warranty documentation for the PPF or tints stating they need to get them from the subcontractors they hired to do the work. It has now been 2 weeks since I was there and have not received anything, follow up texts/emails sent multiple times. This 6 month nightmare is still not over, I am unsure what the final outcome will be but I am here writing today in hope that I can save even 1 person from the absolute disaster of a place the LAB is. Go to the shows, go check out the facility but NEVER send anything there that you expect back in a reasonable amount of time with quality work performed. It is unfortunate to say, I started this journey thinking I was going to form a great relationship with the LAB and their team and have been left feeling sick with the amount of time/money spent and still having a car that needs to be entirely redone.
