I purchased my bucket list 1983 Avanti and it needed some cosmetic work. Namely, some interior upgrades, repositioning of a poorly installed computer and realignment of the passenger door. The interior work required a tricky installation of some expensive black anodized aluminum dash and console inserts (an original option on the 1983 Avanti), along with pulling and reinstalling some 8 gauges and several lights . Redline gave me an upfront estimate and agreed to pay for the aluminum dash parts if broken (they required a double odd angle bend in the dash and this car is fiberglass basically inside and out). Also, Avanti cars later than 1963 and 1964 do not come with repair manuals, so a lot of it is research and guess work, and, as you work on them, you discover what previous owners did right and mostly what they did wrong. It took me a long time to get the car into Redline but I knew they were busy and they were the only ones to guarantee the parts and no one else wanted to touch the dash. Needless to say the final product was just great. They put a lot of time and thought into the project and were very creative in positioning the computer - in fact you can't even see it but so simply accessible if you need it. When I bought the car the computer was hanging at an angle by some loose fabric under the glove compartment and unsightly to say the least. Through the length of the project they would contact me with pictures, calls and emails containing suggestions and options all the while staying within the budget. Before I left they explained what they did, and what might have to be done in the future. When I got the car home, i read the invoice in full and discovered that they repaired a couple of items I did not mention to them and the invoice still matched the original estimate. I was very pleased with the way i was treated and the thoughtfulness put into the project. When it comes to my Monster, a 1986 M1008 CUCV Military Pickup, the best is the only choice. Back in January, during our first snowstorm of the year, Monster got scratched by a cinderblock wall. My past experiences with insurance companies has not been good. So when I went in and spoke with David, he assured me he would handle all my concerns. And so I did, tho I was a bit hesitant. David proved more than capable at what he does! In fact I was quite amazed at the outcome when he called me to report the deal which had been struck between my insurance company and Redline Restorations. Within a couple of days, Monster went in for fabrication and I waited patiently for the job of perfection to be accomplished. The rear passenger side of the one-piece bed needed extensive reparations and being a show vehicle, it needed to be perfect the first time out. David made sure to send me progression photographs of the rebuild as requested. From the onset, I was not disappointed. And upon completion, all I can say is that Redline Restorations went far above the expectations they guaranteed! Perfect beyond perfection and worth every penny. The line between fabrication and existing body lines is literally impossible to detect. I will be more than confident to placing Monster in Auto Shows this coming season.
