Finding a trustworthy mechanic is like getting a good Doctor, someone you trust. Knecht's is that type of shop. I brought my antique 2002 corolla in with check engine. They reset the code, but informed me (sadly) the repair cost is way beyond the worth of the car. They did not charge me. That's a shop you can trust! We will continue to get our other vehicles services here. read more

Great, honest family business. Before 2019 it was a bit expensive for me. But after inflation happened many businesses raised their prices. Knecht's kept price increase at minimum and now very competitive price wise. Put it together with quality of service and you got a winning business all around. read more

went in early tuesday morning for a walk in emissions test and was in and out. have been coming here for years for emissions and other car troubles. knecht's is always reliable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. read more

Always very friendly whenever I've been there. I have 3 vehicles that I need to take in for the emissions scam every 3 years.

Knecht's is honest and reliable. What else would you expect from a mechanic? Ive taken several cars there for service and always get excellent work!! read more

Great Mechanics! Just call to make an appointment. Reasonable rates. They also do emmission testing.

Very unfriendly and unprofessional service. I called to get a quote, but the person on the phone was rude from the start. They refused to work with parts I had already purchased and hung up on me mid-conversation. I'd recommend looking for a shop that values basic courtesy and customer communication. read more

What a nice, honest group of people! Don took the time to explain that I actually didn't need something done (despite the dealership telling me I did). The service provider showed me how to find out when it was due. They didn't charge me (although I took their time). You def have a customer for life. I really appreciate your honesty and help. read more

Very happy with my first visit there. Had been told by an oil change franchise that there were all these various fluids leaking and I felt the transmission was shifting oddly, but the mechanics found I was just a bit low on transmission fluid. $107 for the checkup and fluid. read more

Went for walk in emissions test. In and out very quickly. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

Just had my car emission test done at Knecht's, first time and was out in a half an hour. You can make an appointment for the emission test but I had no appointment, just drove in paid $20. I will be bring my wife's car next for an emission test. Thanks. read more

Came in with a leaky tire valve and they fixed it within minutes. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

If you know...you know. I wish there were more mechanic garages like Knecht's. It's family owned, and run by decent, honest, hardworking, caring people. They aren't out to cheat you to make a buck. It is SO hard to find an honest mechanic, but they are the real deal. Plus they sell the best local honey in the waiting room! read more

Came here for a tire repair and they were friendly, fast and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend for auto service. As for the one bad review by John H. , as far as I know, Knecht's Garage has no car wash. The automated car wash next to the garage belongs to the gas station next to it. read more

Went there as a walk-in emissions. Woman at front desk was rude and short with me and told me I had about an hour wait. An hour came in and there was a bunch of people skipping ahead of me. I understand policy is that they fit in between their scheduled appointments. Either way I had to leave to go run an errand I got my money back and when I called to see if they hadn't an appointment or availability. The lady at the desk again was short and very rude with me. I am new to this area but I can tell you, the way these folks spoke to me I will never give them my business, I recommend you do the same. read more

I arranged to come here for a Vin inspection. They were very accommodative. They appear to be extremely busy as well and I can understand why. Very organized, BBB accredited, and they are nice. I know its only a VIN inspection but they were careful opening the door so it wouldn't contact the car parked next to me, and closed the door without slamming it, I know its minor but it shows they are being careful. I also noted that all customer facing activity is done distanced and masked. Just watch out and avoid unmasked customers. I will definitely give them a shot on my next service/repair. read more

What can I say for 11 years I have been bringing my car there and for 11 years I always leave knowing I'm in great hands! From the people at the front desk to the mechanics (I use Don) it's a true family type experience! Always honest, never feel ripped off (as you do when your leaving the dealership that just fixed your car) and they never try to sell you something or trick you into believing you need anything more than you actually do. Highly recommend Knecht's Garage. read more

I have lived in Monroe for over 25 yrs. So I know the issue that some people have with "people of color."That is the reason I am writing this review. My daughter and I have been going to this garage for years for an Emission test. The attitude from the charming lady stinks ! I walked in with my emissions card & license and the Charming lady told me with an attitude that "I don't need to show my license, Its not that serious!" And I told her things do change from year to year so I showed her Just in case. She stated again with a sassy attitude that" it was not that serious."So after she embarrassed me in front of customers, the young man with black curly hair, came out to hand me my keys, leaning back like he was going to catch a disease from me. I haven't said anything for yrs about the attitude there, but I feel they need to know that we all are human beings no matter what color we are! read more

I recently had Knecht's garage install a Roadmaster Active Suspension on my Pleasureway class B motorhome built on a Chevy 3500 express van. Knecht's Garage did a very professional installation, they took great care to not damage any of the pipes and tanks and generator underneath the motorhome. They are a Roadmaster Active Suspension recommended garage and knew what they were doing. I recommend both Knecht's Garage and the Roadmaster Active Suspension. This upgrade made a huge difference in the drivability and handling of the motorhome. read more

My daughter's car broke down on the parkway unexpectedly. Don at Knecht's Garage got the car towed to their garage, diagnosed and repaired the vehicle ASAP. They also performed the CT State Emissions test that was due. Very professional and highly recommended! read more

Knechts is exactly what everyone needs in a mechanic shop. I don't know if it's strictly family run but it seems like it is. Both the guys are amazing and definitely willing to work with you. This is the first time I have ever had a mechanic apologize to ME for the work which needed to be done. I have had the unfortunate, yet fortunate, chance to bring a few cars to Knechts and I will continue to go back and recommend everyone I know to them. Knechts genuinely cares about your needs, doesn't complete work that isn't necessary and completes what needs to be done in a timely manner. Couldn't be happier with the service here!! read more

I have been there 3 times and everyone from the mechanic to the people at the front desk have been courteous and they accommodate any reasonable request. Very honest and safe***. read more

I've driven by this shop for 20 years and never gave it a thought until a couple weeks ago. I recently gave them a call to see if they could help me with an issue....because nobody else would. I was extremely surprised in how friendly they were and so willing to help. All I have to say is they have unparalleled customer service, which is impossible to find in this day and age! This is a family ran business that actually cares that their customers walk away happy...knowing that their family name is on the line. I have to give credit to where credit is due. Don went above and beyond to help me....even after normal business hours. I'm extremely mechanically inclined and do most of my work myself as I don't trust any shop out there. This is one place I would definitely bring my car to and recommend to my family & friends. Thanks for all your help Don! You're a rare breed and you run a fantastic customer oriented shop! read more

Really can't say enough about this place. I really appreciate when experts in their field, who clearly know more than you, don't leverage that knowledge gap to screw you or make a quick buck...this is not that kind of place Recently brought my car in for an oil change and some issues with a check engine light and rattling noises. Don provided me with some of the best customer service I have experienced in a while...volunteering to take the car out with me to hear the issues and in the end, telling me it really wasn't anything to be concerned about. He proactively called with updates, always explained things, and the pricing was great! That is how you make a customer for life. Coming from a lifetime "just take it to the dealer guy", Knecht's is the real deal. read more

This place is one of the most people friendly place, everybody there couldn't do more to help you when you most need it.
